Dr. Hennasea Tokumura comes to us from the beautiful island of Oahu, where she was born and raised. She obtained her BS in Biology (as well as a minor in Chemistry) at the University of Utah while on a full athletic scholarship. Her passion to help those less fortunate and give back to the community is what led Dr. Hennasea to pursue a career in dentistry. She graduated with honors from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco and went on to receive her AEGD post-doctorate certificate with NYU Langone Dental Medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Hennasea likes to spend time with her family and friends, as well as stay active. Her hobbies include surfing, hiking, yoga, and working out.

Dr. Erik Balinghasay is Modern Dentistrys Endodontist. Though he is originally from Los Angeles, its in San Diego that he and his family feel most at home. He received his Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree from UCSD in 2012, where he graduated with a major in Microbiology and a minor in Music. From there, he made his way directly to UCLA, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 2016. During his time at UCLA, he realized his passion for endodontics the dental specialty of root canals. This passion led him to the University of Washington in Seattle, where he pursued advanced training in endodontics. He received his Endodontic Specialty Training Certificate and Master of Dental Science (MSD) Degree from the UW School of Dentistry in 2018. Finally, in 2018, he was able to return to San Diego where he has been tending to toothaches and tooth infections ever since.
In 2020, Dr. Balinghasay completed his endodontic board certification and became a Board-Certified Endodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Balinghasays career mission is to heal his patients toothaches and ensure that theyre happy and comfortable while being cared for.
Dr. Mojaver, a native of San Diego, has been providing leading edge dental care in Carmel Valley since 2003. Before pursuing a dental degree, he received two bachelors degrees, with honors, from UC San Diego, one in Neuroscience & the other in Sociology After obtaining his DMD from the prestigious Tufts University of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, in 2003, he returned to his hometown to fulfill his vision of providing excellent care & administering the highest level of comfort & compassion for his patients.
Since the inception of Modern Dentistry in 2005, Dr. Mojaver has set a new standard of dental care for his patients. Consistently adding new technologies, completing continuing education to improve care, & refining clinical techniques, his goal, & that of his team, is to always strive to provide you the best dental experience.
During his spare time, Dr. Mojaver enjoys all of the beautiful natural splendors San Diego has to offer. He spends his free time staying active with running, hiking going on adventures with his wife and son.

I've been coming to Modern Dentisty for several years and they run things well and Dr Mojaver is a kind and gentle dentist. Very happy with all the services including the office staff, who are all very helpful and friendly.

Very nice, bright office and friendly staff. Christina, who cleaned my teeth, is a highly skilled hygienist. I very much appreciated her performance because of her focus on her job and definitely I will be back to this office by now on.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mojaver and Modern Dentistry for years and i could not recommend them more. They are great with their patients and unlike other dental offices never recommend unnecessary dental treatments. They put their patients first and all else second. Thank you MD!

My first appointment with Dr. Mojaver was yesterday, and I appreciated the excellent professional care, thorough yet gentle hygienist, and identification of issues that need to be resolved, combined with limiting radiation exposure where possible, and the kindness and thoughtfulness of everyone I met at Dr. Mojaver's office, along with no waiting for my appointment, and being able to schedule an appointment the day after I called. I would recommend Dr. Mojaver if you're looking for a dentist in San Diego.

First visit to Modern Dentistry for a cleaning. We were fortunate enough to have Taylor as our hygienist and she was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with my daughter. I was able to overhear the interaction and she was so kind, patient and sweet! She continually checked in with her and got her to open up! It was such a win for all of us!
