My first experience at Modern Dentistry was great.Maya hugienist was awesome!! She was very friendly and did a great job at the cleaning.The dentist and rest of the stuff were very knowledgeable.Will be back for my next cleaning .
In his almost 30 years of practice, Dr. Daniel Bernstein is an outstanding and accomplished dentist with extensive training and has achieved accreditation from every major dental association in the country. Dr. Bernstein graduated top of his class from New York University College of Dentistry in 1982, receiving the award for Greatest Excellence in Clinical Dentistry. He opened Modern Dentistry in 1983 with the vision to create a practice where excellent dentists work side by side with the top specialists under one roof, to provide his patients optimal care. He takes an integrative, open-minded and innovative approach to dentistry, and is regarded by many of his peers as a leader and expert in the field.
Dr. Diane Neman provides comprehensive oral care to her patients through an emphasis on preventative dentistry and the management of existing dental conditions. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and believes that building strong and long lasting relationships with her patients is the key to providing individually tailored quality care. After graduating with Honors Cum Laude from New York University, Dr. Neman went on to receive her DDS degree from New York University College of Dentistry. She completed her residency in general dentistry at Lutheran Medical center with advanced educational training in public health care at the Heritage Community Health center.
Dr. Sofia Vrataric is an experienced dental clinician with sharp diagnostic skills and a friendly bedside manner. She has a strong commitment to helping her patients identify and achieve their most ambitious oral health goals. Dr. Vrataric graduated from Hunter University with a bachelors degree in Biochemistry and published her research work in genetics. She then went on to receive her DMD degree from Tufts University in 2006. Dr. Vrataric has since traveled around the globe doing volunteer work with children in third world countries.
Dr. Gordon graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1997 and continued his education in a residency program in Periodontics, as well as additional oral surgery training. He was then accepted to one of the nations top-ranked art schools, Savannah School of Art and Design, Masters program of Fine Arts in Painting. Dr. Gordon now limits his practice to the art and science of facial aesthetics. He is an Associate Professor at SUNY University of Buffalo Orthodontic Dept. with a special concentration on Ortho Facial Aesthetics, where he teaches doctors from around the nation and world on the science of facial aesthetics. His passion for art and facial aesthetics shines through in his unique approach to lip and perioral augmentation: a direct result of his background in art education. Dr. Gordon lectures often, instructing oral facial augmenters on his classification, diagnostic and reconstructive lip and perioral augmentation techniques. This lead to him being affectionately called Dr. Lips by his patients and colleagues.
Dr. Andrew Kim is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon as well as an implantologist. After graduating the Pennsylvania State University, he went on to receive his dental degree from Columbia University in 1995. Andrew completed his four year Oral Surgery residency in Metropolitan Hospital. He has years of advanced specialty training and multiple areas of expertise ranging from dental implants to wisdom tooth removal and bone grafting. He can also diagnose and treat oral pathology and TMJ disorders and performs a full range of procedures. Dr. Kim is a state-of-the-art, Oral Surgeon utilizing the latest technologies and tools available to give his patients top of the line care.
Dr. Villa is a Board Certified Periodontist. She graduated Rutgers University and went on to receive her dental degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in 1997. Dr. Villa did her residency at the NJ Veterans Administration, after which she decided to specialize in Periodontics. She completed her three year Periodontics program at University of Pennsylvania. She has years of advanced specialty training and multiple areas of expertise ranging from Surgical and Non Surgical modalities of treating periodontal disease, to bone grafts and dental implants. Dr.Villa is passionate about what he does and enjoys working with his fellow colleagues in a collaborative effort to deliver top results to her patients and their goals.
Julia is a registered dental hygienist and received her Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the New York University Dental Hygiene program, graduating with honors at the top of her class. Julias goal is to deliver quality, caring and professional care to her patients that will benefit them for a lifetime. As an experienced practitioner, she works closely with each patient to deliver all their individual hygiene needs and develop a prevention plan. Her primary role as hygienist with Modern Dentistry involves the full administration of comprehensive hygiene needs including thorough and deep cleanings, preventative treatments such as sealants, and the prevention and detection of oral diseases through her trained diagnostic skills for oral cancer screenings and other diseases.
After receiving her bachelors degree from Brooklyn College, Sasha attended the New York University Dental Hygiene program where she graduated with honors at the top of her class. She received the Excellence in Dental Hygiene Award and the Award for Professionalism on graduation. Sasha is committed to educating her patients in their oral health care and her years of experience enables her to provide them with the best hygiene treatments available. Sasha is a registered Dental Hygienist.
As the manager of Modern Dentistry, Anna especially enjoys working with her colleagues in order to implement tasks and reach goals that create the best experience for our patients. Annas constant smile and warm personality provide our patients with comfort and a thoughtful first impression receive when they walk through our door. Anna graduated from York College with a Bachelors degree in Health Promotion and Management. A long time New Yorker, Anna was born in Minsk, Belarus. When not working she loves to spend time with her two children who she says, they are my life. We do everything together.

I had a bad experience with the staff this morning. I will refrain from going into details for now. But judging by previous negative Google reviews on their page, I can agree the staffs need to be more professional and organized.

Best Dental Practice ever! Professional, experienced, caring experts in their various dental practice jobs. With all the necessary modern medical dental equipment on site. As the saying goes: "You've found the BEST! So, forget the rest!" It's worth my time to drive 1.5 hours each way from Riverdale, NY to Modern Dentistry (M.D.) in Brooklyn, NY for treatments. Yes. There are plenty of dentists in Westchester, Bronx & Manhattan that I know and are closer to me. But, it's MY health and I choose M.D. After 40 years as an attorney, I've learned much from my past clients' doctors and dentists. Modern Dentistry stands tallamong NYC dental practices. Modern Dentistry's Staff & Dentists are first rate! I enter this multi-lingual, clean Dental Office "waiting room" and am warmly greeted by Kristina, Front Office Coordinator and Anna, Office Mngr. Then, Dental Asst. Aljisha "preps" me for X-rays and Dental work by Dr. Daniel Bernstein, DDS; Dr. Kim and other dental practitioners. As a former military Commander, I know what it takes to manage a productive & professional Team. The dental experience & expertise of Dr. Daniel Bernstein, DDS is quickly appreciated by me. Dr. Daniel Bernstein & the other dental practitioners in their specialized fields are tops! . I recommend them to anyone who cares about their own Dental health & well-being. Incredibly rude, unprofessional receptionist. Mumbled and kept saying hello. I had to repeatedly ask if I reached the practice as she seemed confused. I asked to set up an appointment for a relative and she repeatedly said the relative already did. I asked how that could be but the receptionist said she recognized the number. I told her that was impossible. My relative lives at another address and it was the first time I called. I then asked to verify dental insurance coverage. I got one word out and she cut me off saying they don't accept that insurance because they don't pay well. I thanked her for showing me how the practice operates. I would hate to have an elderly person go thru this. I would never take a family member there or recommend them to anyone.

I went there twice, the technician was so rough, I asked for an an itemized bill and it took over three weeks to finally get, the dentist didn't even look at my teeth and right away saw money signs and started to tell me of things that I needed done. Would never go back.

I've been a patient for at least 4years. I hate the thought of going to the dentist. I was referred by Modern Dentistry wonderful Periodontist, I would need a deep cleaning. I was extremely terrified and notice. I am extremely sensitive and the thought of hearing a drill makes me cringe! I needed two appts (each section of my mouth needed to be done in two parts). The hygentist was THEE BEST!!! He informed me before hand the drill noise I will experience, but he will be gentle as possible and anesthesia will be need (omg). Both appts was handle with care and really smooth. No pain just pressure. I had my earphones on during both appts just to block out the drilling noise. There hygentisist is the BEST!!! HE DESERVES 20 STARS!!!! DON'T HESITATE MAKE YOUR APPT!!. Thank you Modern Dentistry! There staff is very pleasant and the office is extremely cleaned and well sanitized.

Going to the dentist can be intimidating but the friendly staff make it all much better. That was my experience at the beginning. As time went on, things began to change. My invisalign treatment was +2 years long. Sometimes, I would come in and the doctor will check my teeth slightly (after waiting way after my scheduled appointment), and send me off. The quality of my experience demished drastically and the results of my treatment were not satisfactory. Keep your eyes open, good luck.

It was my first time coming to this office and as someone who absolutely hates the dentist my experience was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!My co worker referred me to this clinic and had marvelous things to say about them and I now understand why.From my check-in to my procedure everyone was friendly and made me feel so welcomed and any home. Dr. Vrataric is amazing. Thank you again guys. Coming back next week,can't wait already!!!!!!

Went to the dentist today. In the process of the root canal the needle broke off in my canal. Dental office does not have the tools to remove the needle. Cost $1600 to remove the needle from a dentist who clearly doesn't know her job.
