Dr. John H. Kim is a native of Baltimore, but he currently lives in Leesburg with his three children and his wife, who is general pediatrician. In his free time, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with his family and playing various kinds of sports activities.
The team at Modern Dental Center takes pride in the fact that we are able to offer a friendly, personal, small-office atmosphere to our patients. Together with Dr. Kim, we promise that you will not just feel like another number when you come into Modern Dental Center.
Dr. Kim started his post-secondary education by obtaining his Bachelor's Degree from Johns Hopkins University. He then went on to receive his Doctorate in Dentistry from New York University. He was later appointed chief resident at the Medical College of Virginia before starting his own practice.

I had some very serious dental anxiety before coming here. Dr. Kim is fantastic and never recommends anything you don't need. He will also help you find the route of treatment that works best for you. My whole family sees him. I love that it's a small practice with one dr and no assistants so I know I'm being seen by him every time.

We have been going to Dr. Kim for about 15 years. He is the best dentist we have ever had. Very kind, gentle, professional, and explains everything very thoroughly. Always provides options and discusses them with you. I very highly recommend him.

Best dentist experience! Efficiency, kindness and in depth consultation/collaboration between doctor and client. Dr. Kim and Sue are great! I have felt very comfortable and well treated on every visit.

Dr. Kim is a very caring doctor and both of my teenage kids have been seeing him since their first teeth grew out. He is definitely one of the best doctors you could ever ask for in NOVA. He is very conservative, and always thinks from the patient's point of view. My kids' teeth never had any issues and we are very happy with his service. They love going to see Dr. Kim!

When I was much younger I had a filling done and not only did the dentist hit a nerve when numbing the filling fell out about 2 weeks later. Ever since this visit I have strategically avoided the dentist for fear of those needles and the possibility of hitting another nerve. Modern Dental Center was recommended to me and let me tell you I am absolutely thrilled that I went. After 10+ years of that filling being out Dr. Kim took excellent care of it. He was able to numb the location without me feeling much pain and took care of the filling while completely avoiding a potentially needed root canal since it went uncared for for so long. My children love him as well and actually enjoy going to the dentist. I will never go to another dentist.

Dr. Kim is the best. The office runs extremely punctually and efficiently - I have never had to sit in the waiting room, they are always ready and waiting for me when I come in. Dr. Kim does all the dental work himself and is very gentle, yet thorough; he uses advanced tools to do the best job with the most comfort. He is very honesty and doesn't push unnecessary procedures. I also use him for my 3-year-old son, and Dr. Kim is fantastic with him - very gentle, very patient, very sweet. We'll be patients for a very, very long time!

I love Dr. Kim. I made an appointment for 4:15. At 4:12 the dentist started the examination. Dr. Kim did the examination and cleaning. The cleaning was absolutely painless and very complimentary. The office makes sure you are comfortable. There are movies and games (for kids) in the waiting area. I was out of the office in less than half an hour. Very clean, modern, professional, and efficient!
