Dr Barenbaum is a highly trained professional who strives to provide excellence in the field of dentistry. Dr Barenbaum spends many hours on continuing education courses every year going far beyond the regulated requirements. She strongly believes that through continued education, she can provide excellent state of the art dentistry to her patients. Her main goal in dentistry is building trusted, valued relationships by providing outstanding, personal, and comfortable care to all her patients. Dr Barenbaum sincerely cares for her patients with the same quality and consideration she would want for herself. She recognizes that each patient has individual needs and excels at customizing a care plan to address them personally. Dr Barenbaum is committed to achieving beautiful smiles and making every effort to ensure that her patients are relaxed and comfortable during their treatment. Dr Barenbaum is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General dentistry, Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and New Jersey Dental Association. Dr Barenbaum lives with her husband and their beautiful daughters, Jessica and Kimberly. In her spare time, Dr Barenbaum enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor activities, and travel.
Dr. Steven Reff uses his extensive experience to provide the highest level of cosmetic and surgical care in a gentle, compassionate manner. He received his D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. While there, he graduated at the top of his class and was honored by his faculty by being inducted into the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthetic Honors Society. He also served as President on a variety of committees including the Dental Schools Global Outreach Program and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery study group. Following dental school, Dr. Reff completed his general, cosmetic and surgical-based training at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine/New York Presbyterian Hospital. Upon completing his training Dr. Reff began treating patients in private practice. He was also invited to take a position at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine teaching postgraduate candidates and future dentists, and was additionally appointed admitting privileges. When he is not practicing dentistry or attending professional obligations, he enjoys hiking with his Yellow Lab, fly fishing, and relaxing with his wife Allison and their children
Ashely has been a dental hygienist since 2013 and graduated from UMDNJ. She has always loved going to the dentist and became interested in dental hygiene during high school. Ashely always educates each patient on the importance of their oral health and will do so in a simple and understanding manner. Her caring and easy-going attitude will make any patient comfortable. Ashely is married and lives in South Plainfield with her husband, 3 cats and 1 dog. Originally from Florida, she has a love for the beach and warmer weather. In her spare time besides spending time with her husband and pets, she likes to work out, go to concerts, and take dance classes (specifically tap) which is something she did for 14 years while growing up.

The staff at MODERN DENTAL CARE are amazing! My appointment was exactly on time, the receptionist already signed me in as I walked in, the hygienist was very professional and careful, and the doctor check was thorough and quick.

I needed two root canals after this place. Between a composite overhang and a filling falling out twice and drilling too close to the nerves of my teeth, I wish I never went. Last time I went it felt super rushed and I left in tears.

Dr. Barenbaum always clearly explains the problem and options for treatment. Her procedures are more pain free than my previous dentists. I have been a patient there for 10 years. Except for emergencies, my appointments have always been on time. The staff is very friendly and efficient and explains the insurance coverage in understandable terms

I highly recommend this dentist and her staff. I've tried other dentists in my area, but I always end up driving 30 more miles to this dental clinic for many reasons. When I go for a cleaning, I leave with really well cleaned teeth! The hygienist takes her time to do a great job. And they do what needs to be done ASAP and nothing more. They are very thorough, efficient and professional. They explain what needs to be done and how much it would cost out of pocket before doing it. The place feels clean, sanitary and well equipped with modern tools. The dentist is very gentle and knows what she's doing. So I have been going back to this clinic for the last 6 years.

I have been a patient since Modern Dental opened its doors. The staff is friendly and professional. So accommodating. Especially during Covid. It was easy to communicate with the office. Dr B is outstanding. I used to dread going to the dentist. Being part of the MD family puts me at ease. I am confident that they will do right by me and my family. I consider myself to be one of the worst patients ever at the Dentist office! I have always needed to be put to sleep for anything except for a cleaning and even with that I could be Trouble. I have been with Modern Dental now for 4 years and I can say I LOVE IT HERE!! Dr. Barenbaum makes you feel so comfortable . She is the only one that was able to pull a tooth with out me having to be asleep!! I also like the fact that she is up front with what will work and want not will work when it comes to having major work and not trying to have you spend unnecessary money knowing something is going to work. The atmosphere and staff are also exceptional. I Highly recommend Modern Dental for anyone who has a fear of the Dentist!!! Evette Spicer

Dr. Polina Barenbaum and her entire team is super efficient and excellent in knowledge. She pays lot of attention to detail and gets everything fixed !! Keeps up the punctual appointment timings !! Clinic is also very clean and very well maintained. Extremely organized in sending appointment reminders and staying on top of Insurance coverages. By far it's the best dental clinic in NJ !!

I have been a patient here for a few years. I have had several issues (cavities, crowns, root canal, etc. Dr. Barenbaum has always been excellent. She takes the time time to listen and makes recommendations. All staff members are very friendly and customer focused. Highly recommend!
