Dr. Amy Liu and Dr. Ekaterina Pollard practice conservative, proactive dentistry utilizing the latest in dental technology. Your comfort is always a primary concern.
Dr. Amy Liu was born and raised in Taiwan. She graduated from dental school at Taipei Medical College in 1983. To further her education, she came to the US. She completed a postdoctoral program in Oral Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco in 1986. One year later she obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University. After graduating, Dr. Amy Liu moved to Phoenix in 1988 to practice general dentistry. She has been the owner of Modern Dental Care since 1990. Dentistry is Dr. Amy Lius calling. She attends many continuing education courses and loves to learn about technological advancements in the field of dentistry. She is skilled in cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, implant dentistry, and oral surgery. She is also licensed to perform IV sedation. She is a Preferred Provider for Invisalign.
In her free time Dr. Amy Liu enjoys traveling, photography, reading, and meeting new people. In addition to English, Dr. Amy Liu is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. She is married to an optometrist and has two adult daughters. Their family also includes a cat, a desert tortoise, fish, and many chickens.
Dr. Ekaterina Pollard is originally from Russia. She received her dental degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. While in dental school, Dr. Ekaterina Pollard was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society.In addition, she received the Head of Class Top Student Award upon graduation in 2001.
Due to these distinguishing honors, immediately after graduation Dr. Ekaterina Pollard was invited to work at a prestigious dental office in Beverly Hills, where she gained valuable experience in meeting the needs of patients. She found it very rewarding to see some of her patients on the Big Screen and to know that Hollywood smile was thanks to her efforts in giving them the best dental care possible!
In 2004, Dr. Ekaterina Pollard relocated to Arizona. She owned a private dental practice for 5 years and has over 17 years of dental experience. In her free time, Dr. Ekaterina Pollard enjoys hiking in Sedona with her young son.
Ann has been a dental hygienist for over 30 years and has a passion for patient care and building relationships with patients. She is known for her gentle touch and has a knowledge base that comes with her years of experience. As one of our hygienists, she promotes a positive, comfortable experience in the office, and she is committed to helping patients achieve optimal oral health. Anns background includes experience in periodontal dentistry, oral surgery, and orthodontic offices, as well as being a clinical instructor at Southern Illinois University. She completed her studies at Southern Illinois University and Harper College. Away from the office, Ann enjoys hiking and spending time with her family and is happily married to her high school sweetheart.

Dr Liu and her staff are amazing! I had a terrible impacted wisdom tooth and had to get in asap for a check to make an appt and I had no choice but to bring my 15 month old daughter with me. I felt so bad about it but she and her staff took care of the baby the whole time I was having xrays done. They played Lego's with her and one of the girls even had her on her lap while she was working. They are truly amazing and I am so grateful that I'm not even that nervous about my procedure in a few days because I know they will take care of me!! Thank you ladies!!

I have been going to Dr. Lui for many years. Her and her staff has always been friendly and professional with exceptional dental skills, but today I had the pleasure of seeing a hygienist that I felt deserves a special shout out. Louisa was beyond caring and friendly, informing me of everything she was doing and why she was doing it with the calmest voice. She took special care to ensure I felt no pain or discomfort. Dr Amy is very dedicated to what she does. My husband broke a tooth on Saturday night and she came in on Sunday and fixed him so he would not be in pain. I thank her very much for that.

Not enough space & time to list all awesome things Dr. Liu's office does for her patients. From being super clear & forward thinking on her treatment plans, billing , all the way to scheduling the next cleaning for a Saturday. Everyone there is always very caring & gentle for every dental procedure. Dr Liu goes the extra mile with her follow up phone calls & pictures to document work done + clarify what she needs to do

Great, comfortable and best of all a motivating experience! I find that my main issue with my dental health is just self-motivation to keep consistency, and once I'm in a hole of poor dental hygiene it's hard to feel like I can get to where I want my smile to be. But Dr. Liu and her staff not only delivered a welcoming and comfortable experience, but also laid out a plan to clean my teeth up back to where they should be over the course of different appointments. I now feel like there are goals I can reach, and am more encouraged to take care of myself. If you want a dentist's office that goes above and beyond for their patients, Dr. Amy Liu's is for you.

I was having trouble with a filling and in a lot of pain. They were able to get me in even though they were very busy. While they weren't able to fix it until the next day they got my exam & x-rays out of the way. I appreciate that they always put the patient at the center of everything they do.
