To begin your exam, an in-depth medical review is completed, as your health history can play a role in the current state and health of your teeth and gums. Then we will take full-mouth digital X-ray and intraoral camera photographs, which are projected on a screen so you can see as we explain our findings.
We will then complete periodontal and dental exams. Depending on your individual needs a 3D mockup of your smile may be created so you can visually see how your customized treatment plan can improve and restore your smile. Our goal is to provide you with a customized plan to not only give you a healthy mouth, but a radiant smile.
The health of your gums is a vital component of the health of your teeth. With our state-of-the-art periodontal exam we will determine the condition of your gums and how much, if any, periodontal care is required to treat gum disease and preserve your teeth.
The doctors will utilize your images from the X-rays, their visual and tactile exam to analyze your teeth and bite to see if there are abnormalities in your occlusion (bite) or damage occurring due to issues with your TMJ (jaw joint).

We will provide you with a smile evaluation where you will be able to describe what you would love to improve about your smile. Whether it may be whiter teeth, fix a crooked or chipped tooth, even replacing a missing tooth. We strive to provide you with an outstanding, vibrant smile.
Our doctors and staff will review the findings from your comprehensive exam and imaging with you, so you understand where faults and damages are occurring. We will describe how the problematic areas of your mouth are impacting your total oral health. We will fully explain your individual treatment options, and how they will correct the problem at hand. We will answer any questions or concerns you may have about your treatment plan, so you have a full understanding of your oral health care and can make educated decisions.
Dr. Lucas Eliopoulos (Dr. Luke) was born and raised in Delray Beach, Florida. He attended the University of CentralFlorida and received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with Honors. Further pursuing his passion for healthcare, he enrolled atthe University of Louisville School of Dentistry to obtain his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. During his stay in Kentucky, he embraced community service by volunteering at the dental clinics, which serve the rural communities of the Appalachian. Dr. Luke is delighted to be living in Florida again as a new resident of Fort Myers. He enjoys kayaking, the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
Dr Pette is a Florida native, born and raised in Clearwater, FL. Dr. Pette completed his undergraduate degrees in chemistry and business administration from the University of South Florida in 2004. He then received his dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr Pette later completed a post-graduate residency in Periodontics at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine and he additionally received a Masters degree emphasized in bone regeneration. Dr Pette is certified in conscious IV sedation to provide safe and comfortable treatment for patients who have dental anxiety.
Since 2010, Dr Pette has given several invited presentations for the Academy of Osseointegration, the International Team for Implantology and the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr Pette has also authored and co-authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals on the topics of periodontics and dental implants. Dr Pette is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He is also competent in Spanish to accommodate Spanish speaking patients. In his spare time, he enjoys boating, golf, and spending time with his wife, their 2 cats and his family.
Jessica was born and raised in Indiana, but for the past 27 years, she has been calling Cape Coral, FL home. Jessica has been working in the dental field for 15 years. She went to school to earn her bachelors degree in business administration, graduating in 2015. Since graduating, she has been utilizing her business knowledge at Modern Dental Cape Coral to enhance patients experience.
I was born and raised in Indiana and in 2017 my husband and I moved to Cape Coral. I have been working in the dental field since 1997 and have continued my education in dentistry since. I earned my dental assisting and EFDA (expanded functions dental assistant) certificates from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2001. I love being able to care for my patients, making a difference in their lives and helping them be proud of their smiles. I am the proud mother of two beautiful girls and a German Shepard. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, long walks with the dog, baking/cooking, hiking, swimming, hiking, going to the beach, kayaking, camping, watching movies. In my younger years, I was a state archery champion.
Angie has been living in Cape Coral, FL since 2005 and has had an interest in dentistry since a very young age. She loves seeing her patients happy and feel confident in their smiles. Angie is also fluent in Spanish. In her spare time, Angie is around her pets, loved ones and goes on road trips.

The staff at Modern Dental Cape Coral was great. Everyone was very friendly, from the xray tech to the dental hygienist and Dr Luke. The office was clean and modern. I would recommend this dentist.

Beware! This practice will do a great job at selling you services you do not need. I was informed by multiple people in the office, including the dentist, that I needed a bridge or implants. After receiving the estimate which states "If you have dental insurance, please be aware that THIS IS AN ESTIMATE ONLY" followed by "Coverage may be different is your deductible has not been met, annual maximum has not been met, or if your coverage tale is lower than average." That is the extent of the contract that was signed with no mention of what actually happened. I am aware of my deductible and that has nothing to do with this situation. I had the procedure done and only a portion of it was covered because my insurance company, which Modern Dental is a participating network member of, stated that I actually did not need the procedure therefore a large balance of the claim was denied. When I spoke to Modern Dental billing, the dental technician and the dentist I was told this happens all the time and they would appeal the decision for me and provide the proper more detailed information to my insurance company. Feeling reassured that they were used to this and they deal with this type of situation on a regular business they appealed and it was denied again stating that what they had sold me was not necessary. I again had conversations with billing person up front and the dental technician and was told that they would have the dentist intervene personally to resolve the denial. Once again the claim was denied for the same reason, the procedure was not needed. When speaking to the billing person this time, they absolved themselves of all responsibility for selling me a procedure that I did not need and demanded payment which I did pay. This was an expensive lesson for me so learn from my mistake, if anyone at Modern Dental tells you that you need anything over and above a normal cleaning, go somewhere else and get a second opinion because they will not stand behind what they sell you and you might be paying for a procedure that you don't really need. I'm very impressed with Modern Dental and really happy I did my research and found this office. I moved here from the Midwest and was looking for a new dental office that wasn't a chain, had modern equipment, and gave me a good vibe. Modern Dental checks all the boxes and more. Dr. Pette and Dr. Luke are knowledgeable, professional, personable, and have a great bedside manner making the patients feel very comfortable which is key in the healthcare field of any type. If you are looking for an office on the cutting edge with great office staff and dentists you're going to want to check them out!

What a sweet and professional group of people! I emailed as the storm(Hurricane Ian) cut the phone lines.. within 24 hours they called me and scheduled me the same day! My son referred me and I am so happy he did! Dr was awesome and his assistant friendly and easy to talk to!!

I find it insulting that a healthcare provider (to whom I have entrusted my CARE and with whom I've established what I believed to be a long term patient-provider relationship) would think so little of my business relationship that they require payment of half of my anticipated out of pocket expense UP FRONT, AT SCHEDULING...that's ludicrous! (sometimes that means many weeks or months in advance) for services NOT YET rendered. I am 100% on board with paying for services when services are rendered...but if I'm your routine patient, you have my dental/periodontal history on file, and you have no reason to believe that I will miss an appointment...then why do you need payment at scheduling? It's insulting and arrogant. Your time is not more significant than my money. I caution new residents particularly...you may think this is routine practice in SWFL. I assure you...it is NOT. RESPONSE TO OWNER: Your "policy" is to demand 1/2 payment for anticipated services at SCHEDULING for ALL patients. Your policy is not good business. Do you pay 1/2 of your car's anticipated maintenance at SCHEDULING? Lawn service? Pest control? How about MD or dermatology appointments? Would YOU do business with a company or service that requires you to pay 1/2 at SCHEDULING??? I won't. I advised your practice that your policy is not patient friendly and I was very open to dialogue. I requested a conversation with the owner but never received one. I'm sorry that you didn't take the time to speak with me. Had you done so, you would know that I didn't want an exception to the policy. I had hoped ownership would appreciate the feedback that your policy is not patient friendly and would consider changing the policy for ALL patients.

I had a very pleasant experience at my first visit to Modern Dental. Dr Lucas Eliopoulos (Dr Luke), and the whole crew are very thorough. They explain everything in detail. They are locally owned and have great prices. They offer discount dental plans. I am very happy to be a patient of Modern Dental Cape Coral. I highly recommend them!

Dr Luke & Dr Pette are the best. Everyone on the staff has been so good to me. They all care about their patients which means the world to me! I've been a little whiny with pain, yet they are so patient and kind. They take time to listen and answer questions. In my opinion, Modern Dental is the best place to go for not just minor dental problems but the big major ones, too.

Excellent care. I started coming here because I had an urgent toothache and my normal dentist office never called me back. The receptionist here was empathetic and got me scheduled the next morning. When they cleaned my teeth yesterday, I didn't feel like just another patient. I felt like they took pride in their work. (The dental chairs are massage chairs, too, helps distract you). Would highly recommend.

Dr.luke was awesome I had went in to get a tooth pulled never had one yanked before (obviously a bit stressful) but he made me feel super at ease and I didn't hardly feel a thing.

First visit. Office staff are friendly and fun to chat with. First time I had X-rays that were so comprehensive and gentle. Dental assistant, Angie, was delightful and professional. The dentist, oh yes, he too was great!

I just want to say what a gem this office is. I had an emergency and they were the only office in Cape that could see me next day. I went in and as someone with high anxiety about the dentist, they all made me feel welcomed. Jessica (I believe her name was) up front is extremely nice. The dentist was also very gentle, friendly and informative on what needed to be done. I am excited to get my issues fixed instead of scared for once.
