Dr. R. Jennifer Atapour is a 1999 graduate of The University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, the worlds first dental college. In 2008, Dr. Atapour completed the New York University College of Dentistrys Surgical and Prosthetic Treatment Program, giving her extensive knowledge in the diagnosis, surgical placement, and restoration of dental implants. Upon completion of the two-year course, she served for an additional six years instructing participants of the same program.
Because of Dr. Atapours experience gained over the years, her practice, Model Dental, has a focus on the placement and restoration of dental implants, restoration of lost teeth, and preservation of the jaw bone for future restoration and rehabilitation. And, of course, Model Dental provides general dental services to patients of all ages.
Dr. Atapour is a member of The American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), and The International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI). She understands how critical it is to stay on top of all the advances in dentistry, and she participates in continuing education courses throughout the year, giving her the tools to go farther and perform even better for her patients.
Dr. Atapour and her colleague started teaching a two year long continuing education program at University of Maryland dental school on September 2018 to teach and train licensed general dentist to place and restore dental implants. At this C.E. program, all the participants meet every Monday from 8 to 5 to place implants on patients. This is a very unique program where students get an opportunity to start planning and executing treatment for patients at UMB dental school.
I chose the field of dentistry because I was inspired by my own dentist, Dr. G., when I was fifteen years old. What stood out the most about Dr. G was how kind and attentive she was to me and all of her patients. She took the time to explain everything about the procedure she was planning to do, and that helped to reduce the stress that many patients feel when they go to the dentist. She treated me as if I was her most important patient, and Im sure all her patients felt the same way. Not to mention the fact that she was an incredible dentist since much of her dental work is still functioning today without a problem.
So when I started as a dentist, it was my goal to try my hardest to follow in her footsteps. I pay the utmost attention to the person sitting in my chair, not just as a patient, but as a human being who is about to receive dental treatment. I try my best to educate my patients, help them to overcome their fear of the procedure, and encourage them to work together with me so that we both achieve the best outcome. I constantly try to understand my patients feelings and points of view, which certainly will affect the final result. I get enormous satisfaction when the work is done, and my patient says: WOW! It didnt hurt or It looks great, Doc!
I treat my patients with the same care that I give to my family. I consider them to be a part of my larger family. I am fair, compassionate, and considerate to all my patients, and provide the very best service that I can. And, I live by my motto: Do it right and do it once.

I love Dr. Attapour and her whole staff! As someone who has severe anxiety especially at the dentist's, I feel like they all take really good care of me. They're constantly checking in with me during procedures to make sure I'm okay and it feels like such a judgement free zone. I've had a wide variety of treatments from Dr. Attapour ranging from cleanings, fillings, extractions, implants, and bridges and so far my service and recovery for all procedures have been exceptional! I've recommended Model Dental to everyone in my family and now many of them have started visiting regularly and they've all had similar experiences. I'm so glad to have finally found a great dentist :)

I drove to my appointment just for the desk assistant to say my insurance wasn't covered. Booked this appointment 2 weeks ahead. I took time of work for this appointment. When they could of checked my insurance at least the night before to call me in the morning. Please do a better job checking people insurance and calling them before their appointment.

Dr. Attapour is fabulous , she is care about her patients , she tries to understand the tooth problem then do the best method to fix the tooth or relieve the patient from the pain. I would like to recommend this nice and friendly dentist to all .

Dr. Attapour is an absolutely wonderful dentist. I am very pleased with my crown treatment and I recommend her to everyone. She is very clean and with the procedures she makes sure that you are not in pain. I noticed that she also does not impose unnecessary treatments and she is honest.

Dr. Atapour has been my dentist for over 20 years. During childhood, I had three molars removed and decided that implants were the best option for replacement. Since February, Dr. Atapour has completed two molar dental implants. I have one more molar implant to have done and will not hesitate receiving Dr. Atapour's excellent care and service. My pain following the procedures were minor; I only had to take painkillers for 24 hours.

I have read the reviews and I agree with these who think that Dr. Atapour is a outstanding Dentist . The care of her patients is evident she takes time to explain any concerns you may have. My husband and our family all agree she is a great Doctor. We have recommended many friends and everyone has only praise for their experience with Dr. Atapour . I love this Dr. J. I have been a patient of Dr. Atapour's at Model Dental since 2008, as well as my wife and kids too. She has consistently been an amazing dentist. I trust her judgement and treatment wholeheartedly. She treated my severe periodontal issues without ever feeling I was being ripped off. Her staff is greatly, and are always helpful with scheduling. Saturday appointments are the best.
