Dr. Michael E. Moats has been practicing for more than 30years in theBuffalo Grovearea. Dr. Moats is a general practitioner who also focuses on cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry.After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Davidson College in 1969, Dr. Moats taught biology and chemistry at New Trier West High School from 1969-1973, gaining an appreciation for communication and education.
Dr. Moats graduated cum laude from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1977, where he received the schools highest clinical award. Since that time, he has remained a prominent influence in his profession, receiving numerous awards.
In 2002, Dr. Moats was selected as the Grand Prize Award Winner in the Smart Practice national photo contest, showcasing before and after pictures of cosmetic dentistry. He repeated the feat in 2003. Time after time, Dr. Moats cosmetic work has received praise not only from his professional peers, but more importantly from his happy, smiling patients.
Dr. Moats remains active in professional societies and in 1992 was elected to theAmericanAcademyof Dental Practice Administration, whose focus is education, excellence and the exchange of knowledge. With only 270 members allowed in the AADPA internationally, they are considered to be a preeminent group in dentistry.
He is honored to have been selected yearly as one of Americas Top Dentists by the Consumers Research Council of America. His inclusion began in 2008.Dr. Moats has also been given the Super Service Award for General and Cosmetic Dentistry by Angies List annually since 2011.

Janet Dental Hygienist Janet has been with our team since 2004 and loves our patients and the quality of work provided by Dr. Moats. She attended the Harper College dental hygiene program and has practiced dental hygiene for 42 years, 15 of which were at a periodontal office. Janet takes the time to get to know each of her patients personally and works hard to care for them both medically and dentally. Janet has been married to her husband, Bernie, for 38 years. They have five children, two of whom are married, along with four grandchildren.
Nancy Office Manager/Administration Nancy has been in the dental field for 29 years as a certified dental assistant and in administration. She loves working for Dr. Moats and loves our great team! She enjoys interacting with our patients and helping with their dental care. Nancy loves spending time with her family. She has been married for 29 years and has two daughters and a grandson.
Marina Certified Dental Assistant Marina has been working as a dental assistant for over 28 years. She loves working for Dr. Moats and says this is the best office she has ever worked at! Marina has two sons. One lives in Ohio with his wife and daughter, and the other son attends the University of Alabama. In her free time, Marina goes skiing.

Dr. Moats is wonderful! He is personable and takes a lot of time to understand your dental needs. He made a TMJ night guard for me recently. Not only does it fit perfectly, my TMJ has finally calmed down. Thank you Dr. Moats!

I first saw Dr. Moats in 2000. He did cosmetic work for me before my marriage. 21 years later, my wife and I still go to him for all our dental needs. Whether cosmetic or general, you will not find a more qualified, professional dentist in Chicagoland. When our kids are of age, they will be seeing him too!

Awesome dental practice. I highly recommend Dr. Moats and his team Janet, Allison, and Mona. I am thankful to have them so near in Buffalo Grove IL. They are all professional and their work outstanding. Dr. Moats is an exceptionally skilled dentist and his cosmetic dental work is second to none. He is thoughtful, considerate, compassionate and funny when appropriate. My daughter will soon be graduating from her child dentist to Moats Dental.

Dr. Moats and his team are exceptional! I've had a lot of dental work through the years and no one is as knowledgable, thorough and as skilled as Dr. Moats. He takes the time to get to know you as a patient and includes you in the decision making process so you feel in control of your care. I needed a new crown while pregnant and he was simply the best. I'll be going back post-baby for more care, including some cosmetic work. His entire office is wonderful, from Janet the hygienist, to Allison his assistant, to Mona at the desk. I appreciate them all and am grateful to have found this amazing dental practice!

Dr. Moats and his team are exceptional! I've had a lot of dental work through the years and no one is as knowledgable, thorough and as skilled as Dr. Moats. His service is thorough and conservative, with a drive towards tooth preservation. Dr. Moats and his staff are always very kind, welcoming and focused on the patient's health and comfort. I've had some of the best, and most painless work done there; and I don't even mind going to the dentist anymore! My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Moats for many years. Even after moving further from his office, we continue to make the drive because of the positive experience and confidence we have in Dr. Moats. He takes the time to carefully explain any procedure and is always open to questions. His staff is courteous and caring. There is a warm welcome from the moment you walk in the door. I highly recommend Dr. Moats and his staff.

I have seen many dentists in my lifetime, having lived in various states. Dr. Moats is far and above the best dentist I've ever had. The level of professionalism, explaining in detail what the issues were and what my options were. He was patient and thorough in making sure I understood the procedures as well as answering my questions in a manner I could understand. In one treatment visit he took care of 3 fillings with no need of pain killers. I experienced no discomfort at all. That was a first for me! Dr. Moats's staff is also exceptional. Previous dental cleaning experiences I've had with other dental offices have left me in various degrees of pain often unable to eat that evening. Janet was great and I had no pain that night. Another first! Jenny at the desk and Nancy assisting Dr. Moats a delight. I wish I had found Dr Moats years ago.

Dr. Moats is by far the best dentist I ever met!!! Absolutely love this place!!! Dr. Moats is very gentle and caring. My entire family goes to him. In fact, my daughter lives out of state and will only let Dr. Moats do any work on her teeth. He is very professional and detailed in all his work. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a solid dentist! The staff is very friendly and caring as well.
