Dental implants are changing the way people live. They are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth which look, feel and function like natural teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved. Patients with dental implants can smile with confidence.
The implants themselves are tiny titanium posts, which are inserted into the jawbone where teeth are missing. These metal anchors act as tooth root substitutes. They are surgically placed into the jawbone. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. Small posts are then attached to the implant, which protrude through the gums. These posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth.
For most patients, the placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. First, implants are placed within your jawbone. For the first three to six months following surgery, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums gradually bonding with the jawbone. You should be able to wear temporary dentures and eat a soft diet during this time. At the same time, your dentist is forming new replacement teeth.
After the implant has bonded to the jawbone, the abutment phase begins. Dr. Rahimi or Dr. Patel will uncover the implants and attach small posts, which will act as anchors for the artificial teeth. A temporary crown will be placed, often at no charge, while your permanent crown is being made by your dentist. These posts protrude through the gums. When the artificial teeth are placed, these posts will not be seen. The entire procedure usually takes six to eight months. Most patients experience minimal disruption in their daily life.
Implants are a team effort between an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and a Restorative Dentist. While Dr. Rahimi or Dr. Patel performs the actual implant surgery, and initial tooth extractions and bone grafting if necessary, the restorative dentist (your dentist) fits and makes the permanent prosthesis. Your dentist will also make any temporary prosthesis needed during the implant process.
A single prosthesis (crown) is used to replace one missing tooth each prosthetic tooth attaches to its own implant. A partial prosthesis (fixed bridge) can replace two or more teeth and may require only two or three implants. A complete dental prosthesis (fixed bridge) replaces all the teeth in your upper or lower jaw. The number of implants varies depending upon which type of complete prosthesis (removable or fixed) is recommended. A removable prosthesis (over denture) attaches to a bar or ball in socket attachments, whereas a fixed prosthesis is permanent and removable only by the dentist.
Dr. Rahimi or Dr. Patel performs in-office implant surgery in a hospital-style operating suite, thus optimizing the level of sterility. Inpatient hospital implant surgery is for patients who have special medical or anesthetic needs or for those who need extensive bone grafting from the jaw, hip or tibia.

There are several reasons: Why sacrifice the structure of surrounding good teeth to bridge a space? In addition, removing a denture or a partial at night may be inconvenient, not to mention that dentures that slip can be uncomfortable and rather embarrassing.
If you are considering implants, your mouth must be examined thoroughly and your medical and dental history reviewed. If you mouth is not ideal for implants, ways of improving outcome, such as bone grafting, may be recommended.

I have had several teeth pulled by Dr. Rahimi and I can not recommend him and his staff enough! I am anxious about all things dental related. But he and his staff have always taken great care of me putting me at ease. Dr. Rahimi has always called to check on me after all the extractions and I think that's amazing! You can tell he cares very much for his patients, and I am grateful to have found his office as not all oral surgeons are created equal. Thank you Dr. Rahimi and staff! (including Dr. Patel too, because I think he did one of my extractions too!)

Dr. Rahimi is the best. I recommend him if your child needs any oral surgery done. He explains everything and makes sure to answer all questions. He personally called the afternoon of my daughters surgery to make sure that she was recovering. The whole staff at this office is friendly and professional. They made this nervous 12 year old comfortable and the process was throughly explained and went flawless. Thank you to the whole staff!! We appreciate all you do.

Our family has had three procedures performed here. Dr.Rahimi and staff are fantastic. Cost estimates are very clear and easy to understand - also easy to discuss directly with your insurance company prior to the procedure (confirming coverage, in/out network, etc.). While a simple thing to do, we have always been impressed with how Dr.Rahimi calls you directly the evening of your procedure to simply check in and answer any questions that have come up that day. I highly recommend this facility for any oral surgery.

Dr. Rahimi and his staff are the best in their field! I've had many teeth pulled and this last one was so quick and easy and I almost couldn't believe it. The staff is very nice and friendly. If you need a tooth pulled i wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you so much!

I had an urgent need to go to dentist for my tooth ache and Dr Deepak was able to accommodate me on the same day. I was given the approx cost of the tooth extraction and I will tell you it was twice the price you would pay somewhere else but i hope your insurance covers it. But i agreed to go with the tooth extraction as for me health was important over the price. Tooth extraction took 20 mins overall but one problem with that was there was hole which was left open and was not stitched. I was told that they have kept it open and it should be fine. I never realized until a week when my pain wasn't subsiding and i read online i had a dry socket. I called Dr's nurse before even the pain became worst and i was told until stutters are fully dissolved the pain will stay... So after few days i called again and after multiple tries i got the same message from the nurse. One thing i felt was that how can a surgeon leave a hole open which would end up in dry socket. if he knew that he had left it open he should have told me to come back again .... i went to other dentist to get the dry socket fixed which took couple of dressings but he was also surprised how Dr could do this kind of job. The reason why i gave 4 stars because Dr took me in when i was in pain and I appreciate that

SHADY WHEN IT COMES TO PAYMENTS! I'm in debt because of them, I never knew about the debt with the collection agency until years later! The Dr. did a good job on my wisdom teeth. But, I am very upset with how they approached payment. Years after getting my wisdom teeth taken out, I called to find out about a loan only to realize that MN maxillofacial and oral consultant sent a payment of 300 dollars to a collection agency! I never received any notification, email, mail. I spoke to my mother who was handling payment at the time when I had my wisdom teeth out (I was in high school) , she did not know as well. She called, and MN maxillofacial and oral consultant said that they had sent one email as a warning, and then they sent it in to the collection agency, and now it's under my name and I'm not qualified for a loan. This has been a very unfortunate event. Thankfully I found out about this from calling about a loan. BE CAREFUL with payment through them! I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

I have seen Dr.Rahimi for removal of teeth, implants, and treatment for TMJ, which has included botox injections, and myofacial pain. He is not just highly skilled, he is compassionate; he truly cares about his patient' overall well being. And in the approximately 20 years that I've been his patient, I have never seen him in a bad mood, even when he's been very busy, which frequently seems to be the case. Yet, despite his busy schedule, I have never had to wait to see him. His staff is also wonderful. They are cheerful, compassionate and caring. There is no turn over in staff, which say a lot about the doctors. They have told me that they love their jobs.

While my wife seems to be OK with the extraction, they LIE about total cost of procedure (claim to be in-network while they are not).

I love love love Dr Rahimi and his staff! They are amazing. After the surgery Dr Rahimi calls you personally to check on you. He will always make time to see you in the case of an emergency - whether it's to get a tooth pulled because it's infected or if I don't think my mouth is healing right and I want him to look at it or if I'm in a lot of pain. After each surgery he wants to see you back within 1 week and then again after 3-4 months of healing. I would highly recommend this oral surgery office/Dr Rahimi. And I've had plenty of experience with his office - I have gotten 3 teeth pulled and 3 implants!!
