Dr. Mitesh Jivan was born in Luanshya, Zambia and raised in Tallahassee. At a young age, he become very interested in both biochemistry and health. After graduating with high honors from University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, he entered into the Ph.D. program at Florida State University. Fortunately for us, he decided dentistry would be his career. While attending Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine for his Doctoral training, Dr. Jivan also obtained a Masters in Public Health.
Since graduating, Dr. Jivan began honing his skills in private dental practices around the Fort Lauderdale area, where he focused on surgical aspects of dentistry (implant surgery, bone grafting, etc).
Originally from NY. I graduated from University of Bridgeport (CT) with an A.S. in Dental Hygiene. In 1983, my husband and I moved our family to FLorida. We have lived in Sorrento since 2004. Bob and I have three children; Chris, Cami & Keith and 7 grandchildren ages 3 to 19.
Hi, my name is Marie Len. I have worked as a dental hygienist for 30 years for the office of Dr. Joan Lenze. I was raised in Orlando and became a Certified Dental Assistant and then went onto received my AS degree in Dental Hygiene in Jacksonville. I moved back to Orlando and started with Dr. Joan as her one and only Dental Hygienist, I guess I could be called the senior hygienist on many different levels. You can find me working at the front desk with Janet as well as my dental hygiene duties. It has been my honor to work and raise my family in the Mt. Dora-Eustis area.
Our office is a tight knit group of women who have shared many joys and sorrows. Our dental friendships have spanned the years. You could not ask for a better place to work and it reflects in our attitude that we treat our patients like the family and friends they are.
I was born in South Dakota and raised in Ohio. My family moved to Florida when I was 14. I graduated from Mt. Dora High School and attended Lake Sumter Community College. I came to work for Dr. Joan Lenze in 1976 and received all my certifications from University of Florida!
My husband James is a farrier and we have four children Tara, Chace, Brooke, and Dustin. We also have 10 beautiful grandchildren! In our spare time James and I are also cattle ranchers with the help of our son and daughter-in-law!
I have enjoyed dental assisting here and watched so many of our patients grow up, have kids and bring them into our office. We have a wonderful family practice and a great group of girls working here. I look forward to continuing the quality work and friendly atmosphere that we strive to provide our patients!
I was born and have lived most of my life in Florida. I attended Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida and graduated from the Dental Assisting Program in 1986. I am a Certified Dental Assistant through the Dental Assisting National Board.

If I had known about this dentist my teeth would not have been neglected. I have had MAJOR SURGERY with less care & compassion. Saw me for an emergency.Cared for me like a long time patient. I had NO pain with the nitrous oxide during a canine extraction and almost none after. Sent me home with.ice pack,etc. All the techs are sweet and so competent esp. Jenny, and Dr J is kind ,caring and brilliant dentist. I wish all my doctors were like him. After decades of careless, painful dentistry I am grateful.and amazed by Dr Jivian.

Given the serious nature of issues with this dentist's office, I am writing to share our experience with those considering using this office. Upon moving to the area, we had our previous dentist send our X-rays to this office and confirmed that this office received them and that they were in-network for MetLife. Upon arriving for our appointments, we learned that they had not uploaded our X-rays to their system. While my spouse called our previous dentist office to resend those, which was done immediately and reviewed during the office visit, we received a claim summary charging us for out-of-network prices and, more concerning, charges for x-rays that were never taken.

Today was my first visit with MJ Dental and they were absolutely amazing! I had a cavity for the first time and was scared to have a filling done but they made it such a stress free and easy process. They explained everything along the way and checked in with me frequently which was so nice. I felt cared for and can't wait to continue going back! Thanks for helping my teeth get healthier again! :)

Dr J and his staff are friendly and professional. They are gentle and do excellent work. I trust them and I don't trust most people. I used to be a dental assistant for 17 years and I am perfectionistic about my teeth. This is an excellent dental office. I highly recommend this office.

Dr Jivan just fixed a chipped tooth for me in less than 10 minutes. I recommend him to everyone who is looking for a good dentist. A real gentleman. The staff is excellent.

I broke a tooth and got an appointment very quickly. The doctor told me what had to be done, a crown, and it could be done at that appointment.He was excellent and his dentist assistant, Claudia was super, reassuring and kept me apprised at how long I had left. Something we all want to know at the dentists.

After reading all the great reviews, I decided to go for myself as I was in need of some dental work. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. The dental assistant Jenny made me feel very comfortable and explained everything that was going on. Dr. Jivan was as good as everyone says. He clearly explained everything to me and was able to fix my problem in the first visit. I do not have dental insurance and was able to sign up for a plan that this practice offers, it saved me money on my first visit which was handled as an emergency. I now have plans to return for my cleaning and regular check up in the near future. Being new to the Eustis area, I am very happy I found out about MJ Dental in Mt. Dora! 07/29/2020 - I wanted to post a follow up to my last review... Yesterday I went back to Dr. Jivan's office for some well needed dental work. I was very nervous as who likes having dental work... Anyways, once again Dr. Jivan and his staff took wonderful care of me. He was very compassionate to my needs and anxieties. He and his assistant walked me through the procedure, she even let me hold her hand! Dr. Jivan's work was comfortable and quick. My teeth look amazing and the cost was fair. Once again I am happy to have found this wonderful dental practice in Mt. Dora and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a quality and compassionate dentist.
