Dr. Andrea and Dr. Mike have an extensive educational background. Born and raised in Scranton, Dr. Andrea attended college at the University of Pennsylvania. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) and Masters in Public Health (MPH) degrees from the Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry, where she graduated at the top of her class. Dr. Mike grew up in nearby Middletown, New York, attended college at Lafayette, and then received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University at Buffalo, where he graduated number one in his class. Both Dr. Andrea and Dr. Mike were elected to the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Society, reserved for the top 10% of dentists in the nation.

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Andrea and Dr. Mike knew they wanted to specialize their dental careers in orthodontics. They were accepted into the University of Rochesters Eastman Institute for Oral Health, where they completed an additional two-year residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Following residency, they went on to earn board-certification by the American Board of Orthodontists. This voluntary certification involves years of rigorous testing and is the highest level of qualification in orthodontics. Board-certification represents their commitment to incorporating the latest advances in orthodontic technologies and treatment modalities while providing the highest standard of care to all of our patients.

Personally, Dr. Andrea and Dr. Mike enjoy spending time with their families, having fun at the areas beautiful parks and lakes, and eating at one of the many local delicious pizza and wing establishments. They are eagerly preparing for the arrival of their first child, due this November! They are very excited to raise their family in the area where Dr. Andrea grew up.

'I 've always been fascinated with anything mechanical and especially by how people benefit from machines and technology. Because of this, it seemed very logical that I progressed from working as a truck mechanic, to earning physics and chemistry degrees, to dentistry, orthodontics, and, finally, a Master of Science degree in Dentistry. I love working with my hands and I am passionate about improving peoples lives.

The uniqueness of orthodontics is what initially drew me to the profession. It's like no other job in healthcare. Orthodontics is based solely on helping others help themselves. It's similar to the partnership forged between a coach and a player. Im the coach and I give patients the tools to perform. The most enjoyable aspect of my job is changing lives for the better and knowing that Ive made such a positive long-term impact on their health and well-being. I am very proud of my nature to put people at ease, make good, logical decisions, and simplify difficult and complex problems. I have a reputation for taking a very conservative approach to orthodontics and I am often called upon by parents and dentists to offer second opinions.

They say when you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life, and I have had the pleasure of not working a single day over the past 30 years. I love the daily interaction with people and enjoy building friendships. It's an honor to be so integrated in the community.

My office is a very warm and informal place. I want patients to feel as if they're going to visit a friend rather than a doctor's office. I am available to my patients 100% of the time. My home phone number is listed and everyone gets my cell phone number. I hope to give my patients a pleasurable experience while ultimately contributing to their confidence, self-esteem and dental health, all while focused on a positive, friendly attitude. I believe in our mission of providing priceless smiles at affordable fees.

Much of my free time is spent restoring old cars and trucks. I fabricate, build, modify, and restore anything mechanical. I love spending time with my wife and three adult children doing anything outdoors, especially hiking, biking, kayaking, and hanging out with my rescue dog. I have recently taken up mountain climbing and have successfully climbed Mount Rainier and am a rescue SCUBA diver, working on becoming a DiveMaster!'

At Skrobola, Frantz & Cohen Family Orthodontics, our staff and patients make up one big family. Our friendly and dedicated team truly works hard to ensure that every visit with us is a comfortable and positive experience. We're here for you every step of the way.

I enjoy working at Dr. Cohens office because it has both a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. It is wonderful working at an office where everyone gets along so well and where the work you do is acknowledged and appreciated. It is very rewarding when you see how happy patients are when they see the results of their orthodontic treatment. Knowing that I played a part in their happiness is one of the main reasons I love my job. In my spare time I enjoy doing home projects, gardening, and spending time with my family.

My favorite thing about working at Dr. Cohens office because it is a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Dr. Cohen not only makes his patients feel special, but also his employees. I enjoy working in the orthodontic field because every day you get to meet all different types of people. I like the fact that there are various jobs during the course of the day that you can rotate to. I have been doing this for many years and it never seems to get boring. I still love what I do. When I am not working, I like to spend time with my family, go shopping, go out to dinner, and I love going to the theater with my granddaughter.

I love working at Dr. Cohens because of the friendly and comfortable environment created for patients and staff. Every member of the staff works extremely well together and we get along great. I enjoy working in the orthodontic field because every day we are able to meet new people and help them better their smile. It is very rewarding knowing you can be a part in building a persons self-esteem. In my spare time I enjoy doing anything that has to do with the outdoors.

The doctor and staff are great to work with. We are not just co-workers we are friends. I love seeing the patients confidence build as their smiles improve. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and doing various crafts.
