Dr. Michelle Hofer received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry with minors in Physics and Biology from USD and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Hofer was raised in Brandon, SD and after school did a solo start-up practice in Fort Pierre, SD.
Dr. Hofer has served the Dental Association as Delegate of the Southern District, Southern District President, Secretary-Treasurer for the Board of Trustees and the President of the Board of Trustees. She has also served on the Lake Area Technical Institute Advisory Board.
Dr. Hofer also serves on many Pierre and Fort-Pierre fundraisers and community task forces. Some of these include: Fort Pierre Development Corporation, President of the United Way Funded Growing Up Together Program, 4 on the 4th in Fort run in Fort Pierre, Healthy Hometown Committee for Fort Pierre and chairs the St. Joseph School Extravaganza.
Dr. Hofer enjoys treating those less fortunate and has been serving as the Pierre Indian Learning Center dentist since August of 2007. She has also offered free care to the public on Give Kids A Smile Day since 2007 and has served at the St. Francis Mission. She enjoys being part of the Siouxland Study Club. She shares her love for dentistry by speaking publicly with students at multiple elementary schools and through the Women in Science Program.
Dr. Hofers most valuable time is spent with her family, with her husband Jonathon and two children Grady and Rayya. Jon and Michelle both enjoy helping the kids begin saving for their college through the family sweet corn sales. Dr. Hofer loves coaching the kids in Soccer, Basketball and Softball. She also relishes time to herself running and has completed 6 marathons, including 2 Boston Marathons.

Such a friendly environment and willing to help with any concerns, my 7 yr old is never nervous about going. They make scheduling and billing/insurance super easy and always willing to answer any questions! I 1000% recommended!!!

I did not like dentists until I went to Missouri River Dentistry. Dr. Hofer and everyone who works there are great. They make one feel comfortable from the beginning. I started there a number of years ago and, even after moving 90 miles away, I willingly do the drive rather than looking for a new dentistry.

I called and left a message within 3 minutes I received a call back and 15 minutes later I was getting an X-ray! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and Dr. Hofer was so great!! Totally eased my dental anxiety!!

Wonderful office! I have been to Missouri River Dentistry several times now, and every interaction has been excellent. Dr. Hofer is knowledgeable and attentive and the rest of the staff as well. Such a gracious group of women. My husband and two kids under 5 are also very happy patients.

Where oh where to begin... Oh, I know - They were patient enough when listening to me, that I was actually able to just relax and communicate without exasperation at any point from the first time I called them until my most recent time conversing with them; which, although may be a rare find nowadays for a customer to have even the faintest inkling of a hope of experiencing, is for that very reason all the more pleasantly refreshing when it is encountered! Big Win. My last periodontal cleaning was 25 years ago. I had a fair amount of plaque to remove, but in their care I haven't felt embarrassed even once. Win & Thank You! Me, who's not exactly a fan of needles... nope, didn't even notice I was getting a shot until the deed was almost over. A Serious Win. Professional work all around. Latest in tech. They did a thoroughly excellent job. Yet Another Win. Oh ya, icing on the cake - to top it off, they're a bunch of music lovers. I'm a music lover. Win All Day Long =)
