As someone who has anxiety about dental procedures Dr. Wiswell and his staff were so kind and understanding. They reassured me that I would be numb and explained what would happen. When the procedure happened it was quick and I didn't feel anything but the pressure they said I would feel. I'm grateful to have have a place that cares about their patients like Dr. Wiswell and his team does. I'm glad they were able to get me in as quickly as they were as well. I recommend them to anyone who needs to have oral surgery.

Dr.Wiswell and Anna are always amazing! I'm the one that chooses to go in on my birthday...why? Because they had an opening and are just that good!!! Every experience starting with Dr.Wiswell extracting 3 wisdom teeth!! And when I went to work the NEXT day no one could tell I just had a major extraction the day before!!! I had no swelling at all!! They are that good!!! Thank you for everything you do Dr.Wiswell and all your fabulous staff!!! I've been going here for years and will continue to choose them for years to come!!!! God bless Missoula Oral Surgery Dr.Wiswell and his family!

Dr. Wiswell and staff are great! I came in as an emergency walk in referred by another dentist. They got me in in a timely manner & were accommodating. I was in so much pain from a bad crown from next door, for two weeks! Dr. Wiswell was reassuring when I got scared with anxiety while pulling the tooth. I put my hand up for him to stop & he did. Told me I'll be okay & it'll be out before I know it. He got my tooth out super fast & with zero pain. Thank you so much!!

I rarely post negative reviews but this has been unreal. First, when I went in to get my tooth pulled, I was given almost zero information about what to expect so I was entirely unprepared - I had to have my friend take me to the grocery store totally loopy because I didn't have any allowable foods at home. It took far, far longer than expected and they wouldn't give my friend any useful information on what to expect in terms of how much longer she would need to wait. She was worried! I decided not to go back for the dental implant and they have been SO hard to work with about getting my CT scans and other info. First, they sent me an awful black and white photocopy of the CT scan and then finally, after a lot of requests, they sent me the cd. Now that I have a dentist I'm working with, I asked them to email her the CT scan. She downloaded it but said only half the image showed up. They REFUSED to resend it and said that if I ask them to send it again they will charge me $395! I've seen their comments on other people's posts and I realize that they usually say something to try to make the reviewer look bad but this has been truly ridiculous service so I wanted everyone to know.

Excellent customer service!!! I had to have oral surgery to remove a back molar and wisdom tooth next to it removed. Dr Wiswell and his staff were very friendly and explained everything in detail that was going to happen and gave detailed instructions on what to expect during recovery. Dr. Wiswell and staff were very calming and put me at ease. IV sedation is great I went to sleep woke up and it was over. I was in and out in a little more than an hour. I received 2 phone calls afterward to check up on my recovery, that's excellent customer service.

Everyone here was absolutely amazing. Had to get all four wisdom teeth out, and they squeezed me in two days later when they realized one of them was causing some immediate trouble. I had a ton of anxiety about being under anesthesia and the likelihood of it triggering a panic attack for me, and everyone took my fears seriously (without enabling them) and was so kind and understanding and caring. They gave me a blanket and put on music and talked me through all my fears. It's the next day and I'm feeling pretty good so far. Dr. Wiswell, medical assistant (?) Becky, and everyone who's name I didn't catch. Thank you, I'd never want to go anywhere else.

Had my wisdom teeth out and Dr. Wiswell and his team were so great. I had a little anxiety and the nurses put me at ease. There was a mixup with my RX for pain medicine at the pharmacy, on the way home, and the Dr himself called and fixed it, in real time, then called me to make sure it worked out. The next day he texted me to check in and see how I was doing. It was a nice touch. I had little to no pain in the last 2 days since the surgery and I'm super pleased. Highly recommend! Best Dental Experience I've ever had. Thanks Missoula Oral Surgery!

Dr. Wiswell extracted my impacted wisdom teeth, and did so on short notice. I had an abscess forming on one of the teeth coming in, and not only did he see me without an appointment, they were able to squeeze me in that same week, for surgery. I expressed how nervous I was, and he was understanding but seemed a bit uncomfortable when I cried (understandable). The removal was incredibly quick, about 45 minutes. I'm uninsured and paid out of pocket, they do not accept payment arrangements, for those wondering. If your experience is like mine, you will have severe pain beyond the 3-5 day mark, unlike what was originally expressed to me. Unfortunately, you will have to stretch your pain meds very thin, even if you're suffering extensively... because "after care" and pain management are unfortunately not his strong suit. On day 6 of recovery, I went in to see Dr. Wiswell, as no follow-up appointment was scheduled... which is standard procedure at this particular office. I wanted to make sure everything was healing up okay, being the pain was still unbearable. I was back at work, on very little sleep, barely able to manage the severe pain radiating from my entire head. To my disappointment, the Dr. Wiswell I had see pre/during surgery, was not the Dr. Wiswell that saw me for this check-up. I was greeted by a clearly frustrated doctor that gave off the impression that I was simply questioning his work and wasting his time. Truth be told, I was just in very severe pain and wanted to make sure there wasn't anything wrong. He looked in my mouth, and when he touched a socket I began to cry from the pain, and he told me "Just so you know, I only touched you this much," as he softly poked my arm. Instead of that being a sign to him that clearly I'm still in a lot of pain, he made it seem like surely I'm overreacting or overstating. I was prescribed 800mg of Ibuprofen and sent on my way. I had a prescription for 600mg Ibuprofen already, which was not helping much at all. In their defense, they did not charge me for this appointment. As most would guess, this 200mg bump did not improve my condition. Finally I got the guts to call on the 8th day and request something stronger. He prescribed me 6 tablets of a narcotic called Hydrocodone. They help, and I'm thankful for SOME reprieve... and am hopeful to actually get some sleep tonight. I know this is a long-winded review, and may seem like slander to some. But my only hope here is to warn others who may have an experience similar to mine... expect abrasion when you express discomfort in the days following your surgery. I paid $2000 for a necessary operation, but poor pain management; and my pain tolerance is irrelevant to the fact that I should be aided in my suffering. I have read similar reviews here, so it's not just me... but I am happy to read many who've had an easy recovery. Despite my personal experience with Dr. Wiswell's "bedside manner" so to speak, I am still grateful for the work he did on my mouth... I just wish he was a bit more understanding of my current condition. His office personnel and techs are wonderful, and I know he is a great fit for most; just not for me (and perhaps others like me.) I couldn't bring myself to leave 3 stars, as this reflects the entire office. So here's 4.

The surgeon is wonderful!!!! I was only supposed to have a consultation and informed him that I was in pain. I asked if he could just pull them and he did!!!! I don't know of any other place that would accommodate a Person's needs the way he did!!!!

I have been here twice for a wisdom teeth removal surgery. After my first surgery, where I was not told exactly when I was going under the anesthesia , I woke up confused and scared and proceeded to have a panic attack. The staff handled this very poorly by touching me when I asked not to be touched, therefore making me freak out more. During this traumatic event for me the Dr. told my father that I was a "hot mess". Nonetheless my teeth turned out fine so I went back for my other set of wisdom teeth. My father and I told multiple employees about my anxiety/panic disorder and how just suddenly going under anesthesia really triggered something in me and for this next time I would perhaps need a couple accommodations. When I come in for my second appointment the wait time is longer than ever and the receptionist seemed like she would rather be doing anything else. The woman there named Ellie was very sweet and courteous and made me feel safe but everyone else was the opposite. After sitting with machines plugged into me and an iv in my arm for a good 30 minutes waiting for the doctor he comes in and I explain to him my situation from beforehand, and also that I do not like people touching me, especially out of surgery, he completely brushed it off and told me to "calm down" and as soon as I heard those words I went under, no warning at all like I had asked multiple employees before. Of course I woke up confused and scared and felt a nurse tugging on my arm. As I moved my arm away from her she told me that I "must" comply with her in a very rude tone. If you are a person who needs any special accommodations at all do not go here. Also if you would like to not spend an hour+ in the waiting room every time you go there, do not come. These people seem to lack empathy and pretend to act like they care more than they actually do.

I do not feel like I was treated with care after wisdom teeth extraction. After all four teeth were removed I was in intense pain, swelling and experienced lock jaw. I went in for a follow up to have prescription refilled, but left crying, hurting even more. I was told they would refill my prescription, but they never did and I was left to go through the weekend with no pain medication. If I ever need oral surgery again, I will not be returning to Dr. Wiswell nor will I recommend him to others.

I would absolutely recommend Missoula Oral Surgery. They were very patient, kind, professional, and easy to work with. I was very nervous about my procedure and this office did everything they could to put me at ease.
