A graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, Dr. Ross is committed to offering his patients the latest advancements in dental methods and techniques, and does so by regularly attending seminars and continuing education training.
Dr. Ross is married to his wife Vicky, a native New Zealander, who he met as students at Oregon State University. They have four children, 3 boys and one girl, who are now college age or beyond. They are proud supporters of the local arts, music, and theater scene. Dr. Ross is a loyal fan of San Diegos sports teams and enjoys attending games throughout the year. He and his wife like to travel and have spent time volunteering in Mexico and El Salvador.
Dr. Ross is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Diego County Dental Society, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, as well as the GADS local business networking group.
Dr. Ian Murray is a native San Diegan. He grew up in South Mission Beach and comes from a family of San Diego dentists, his father a Pediatric Dentist in El Cajon and his uncle a General Dentist in Del Mar.
Dr. Murray attended UC Santa Cruz and UC San Diego where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Following eight years in drug discovery research and pharmaceutical development, he realized his skill set would be better utilized on the front lines of healthcare. Dentistry was a natural fit for Dr. Murray blending his desire to increase peoples overall health, his scientific problem-solving experience and his love of artistic pursuits.
Dr. Murray attended Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine where he received multiple awards for leadership and exceptional school performance, as well as membership in the national dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Dr. Murray excels with the support of his family. He has been with his wife, Stephanie, since 1995 and together they are raising two fantastic daughters. Dr. Murray enjoys spending most of his free time with his family at his childrens sporting and theatrical events, at the beach or camping in the local deserts and mountains. His goal is to bring the highest level of healthcare to the patients of Mission Trails Dentistry
Dr. Leslie Snow Phillips grew up in San Diegos East County. With a passion for fine art and a keen interest in medicine, she realized that a career in dentistry was, for her, the perfect fusion of art and science. She attended San Diego State University as a pre-dentistry student receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She then attended the University of California Los Angeles School of Dentistry. Upon graduating from UCLA, Dr. Phillips served our country in the United States Air Force, working as a general dentist for four years, where she received extensive post-doctoral training in all aspects of general dentistry. Following her military service, Dr. Phillips returned to her roots in San Diego and has been practicing general dentistry in the El Cajon and San Carlos communities for more than 30 years.
Dr. Phillips provides all aspects of general dentistry including restorative dentistry and preventive care. Her goal is to help her patients achieve and maintain optimal dental health throughout their lifetimes. By clearly communicating and explaining procedures before, during, and after, she allows her patients to feel relaxed and comfortable. Her gentle, conservative, and, comprehensive approach has earned her the trust and loyalty of her patients. She loves caring for family members of all ages, and, has transformed smiles for generations of patients over the years.
Dr. Phillips and her husband Nick have been married for over thirty years. They have a grown son. In addition to practicing dentistry, Dr. Phillips enjoys travel, cooking, and spending time with her family.

I highly recommend Mission Trails Dentistry! I've never enjoyed having dental work (who does) and have often procrastinated- this is no longer the case. Dr Ross and Brenda went above and beyond to ensure my new crown was excellent; the dental work exceeded my expectations as did their compassion and customer service. I hope to be able to continue to use Mission Trails Dentistry for years to come.

Love this office! Employees are all very friendly. I Had some work done with Dr Murry and he's always so honest and gentle. I would highly recommend him and this office to anyone!

Dishonest. Ultimately they stole $420 from me. My tooth broke and I got a crown here. Dr. Ross broke my tooth more when he tried to get the temporary crown off and then another crown had to be made. I admit the crown eventually got installed but they charged me $420 more than the $730 I paid out of pocket that they promised would cover everything with my insurance (Delta Dental). If you go here get quote in writing before letting them do work. I told the receptionist/administrator (Hellen) I didn't agree with extra charge and she said they'd send me to collections if extra $420 wasn't paid. Then I spoke with Dr Ross and he told me to talk to the receptionist/administrator who said the cost went up $420 and reiterated that she'd send me to collections if I didn't pay.

Dr. Ross Is a personable, caring dentist and his dental work is superb! The dental assistants, hygienists, and front office are all very professional. They all took great care of me and my smile looks better today because of them!

Best hygienist in the business. Sadly I've been around long enough to know. Jo B. changed my life with her attention to detail, excellent advice and no preaching or judgement. She alone is worth the 20 minute drive from my house to Mission Trails at 730am and the 30 minute drive to work after my appointment. Helen and the office stay are equally terrific. Dr. Ross is caring, confident and comprehensive. He explains all the options, suggests what might work best with my insurance, never tries to up sell and ultimately lets me decide the course of action. Just got new crowns. Excellent work and incredible attention to detail. In my case the first crowns were way to bright. Dr Ross and Brenda immediately said so. They showed me and didn't try to sell me on them. Instead, they reordered the crowns. A couple weeks later, the new crowns were on my teeth. Now a month later it's as if these crowns were always there. They're natural looking and comfortable. All of the work with no pain!
