Sean Odenwalder, DMD, received his dental degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Odenwalder completed the U.S. Navys Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program in Norfolk, VA. As a naval officer, he spent four years in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps at Camp Pendleton before coming to Mission Family Dentistry.
Dr. O is a North County San Diego native. He and his wife, Amy, and their two children, Kirk and Heidi, currently reside in Vista, CA. Dr. O is very involved in his church and with the Boy Scouts and enjoys sailing and outdoor activities with his Rhodesian Ridgeback, Gator.
Dr. Odenwalder is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the San Diego County Dental Society. He continues to increase his knowledge and skills in the latest advancements in dentistry by regularly attending continuing education events, conferences and hands on courses.

Martha Lead hygienist Martha, our lead hygienist, received her Bachelors in dental hygiene from Loma Linda University and has been a member of our team for over 20 years. She is an avid traveler and has seen more countries than all of our team members combined! Martha is married with two daughters, and when she isnt running or biking or being a busy mom, she is providing our patients with outstanding periodontal care.
Bonnie Hygienist Our hygienist, Bonnie, was born and raised in Miami, FL, and made her way to Southern California in the early 90s. She received her dental hygiene degree from Cypress College in 1998. Before becoming a hygienist, she worked as a dental assistant and especially loved pediatrics. She has been a member of our team for over 7 years. When she needs to relax, she heads to the outdoors to enjoy nature and sunshine!
Nicole Registered Dental Assistant Nicole is a registered dental assistant but is also pursuing her degree in dental hygiene. She loves meeting new people and enjoys the outdoors especially fishing! Although dentistry plays a big role in her life, her real passion is cooking. She claims that if she hadnt become a dental assistant, she would have become a chef!

I recently went to Dr. Odenwalder at Mission Family Dentistry because my crown came loose. I got there on time but expected to wait (like all dentists and doctors usually make you do). I was surprised when they called me right in. There were a lot of patients there but the staff seem to be running a tight ship. Dr. Odenwalder took a look at my xrays and then laid out all of my options. He didn't pressure me into any one thing which I appreciated. I always feel like dentists try to upsell me. Long story short, my tooth was fixed, and I'm happy to have a new HONEST dentist!

All I wanted was a cleaning. First time visit they require x-rays. No reason for that if all I want is a cleaning. Maybe after a visit or two but no reason to tag me with a no reason add on.

We love Mission Family Dentistry. We have been going there since we first moved to California and I was a kid, over 20 years. Now I take my kids there and when I asked if they wanted to go to a "kid" dentist they were not happy about it. We love the fact that they remember who we are, who are family is and always ask how everyone is doing. They are good with our kids even when they are a little scared. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Jessel and Moynihan and especially their team.

Mission Family Denistry is the best dental service I have ever had. My wife and I have been using their services for over 15 years. They are friendly, courteous, and professional. Going to Mission Family Dentistry is like visiting friends where you just happen to have outstanding dental care as well. January 2013Just had another visit. As usual very professional yet friendly. More follow up work to be done, but scheduling the follow up appointments was very easy. They are very flexible in accommodating my unusual work schedule. 7/22/13 - Had a "dental emergency" when a tooth broke. As usual they bent over backward to help in in my trouble. When I hear my friends speak of their experiences with other dentists I am truly thankful that I have found Mission Family Dentistry. 9/11/15 - Once again the "family" at Mission Family Dentistry came through. When faced with a lay off that would have resulted in losing my dental insurance they rescheduled some significant work on my teeth to ensure I could all be completed before my insurance ran out. 9/16/16 - My job situation worked out so I am continuing to seek dental care from my dear friends at Mission Family Dentistry. As always the care is professional but still very personal. I can't imagine going anywhere else for dental care.

I cannot believe I was in and out in 45 minutes and had two teeth filled. Painfree, even now after all the numbing has worn off. I love how Dr. M tells you every step he is taking as he is doing it. This was truly one of the best dental experiences I've ever had.
