Dr. Spero loves being a dentist! He enjoys meeting new people every day and vows to make dentistry as pain-free and comfortable as possible. His patients all have unique needs some want routine work, others seek cosmetic dentistry, while others come to him in serious pain. When patients call me in pain, I will treat them as soon as possible even on holidays and Sunday mornings. As a dentist, work never stops, but Dr. Spero finds that work extremely rewarding. When a patient walks out of my office, I want them to feel happy again, pain free, and ready to show off their smiles.
Dr. Spero and Dr. Farrah Koutchek, own and operate three successful offices and are devoted to their patients. Patient comfort is the top priority for me, Dr. Spero explained. I make sure everyone is treated with respect and fully understands what treatment is needed. Dr. Spero has successfully completed full mouth restorations as well as dental implants. He practices conservative dentistry and utilizes advanced dental technologies.
Dr. Spero wasnt always a dentist. He grew up poor in Queens, New York. His father owned a dump truck, and his mother was a stay-at-home housewife. His father died when he was just a year old, and he lost his mother when he was in his teens. Despite family tragedy, Dr. Spero always knew he wanted to make something out of himself and have a rewarding life helping other people. Before he was a dentist, he worked many jobs, and was once even a broker on Wall Street. He put himself through college, bartending in the evening to make ends meet. I found my own way in life, my own way through dental school, and it has helped me become the person I am today. I want all my patients to feel safe and trusting of me theres nothing I enjoy more than helping a patient by giving them confidence and life-long smiles.
Dr. Spero believes his education didnt end with dental school; he continues to learn about the latest dental techniques and completes more than 50 hours of continuing education each year. He also enjoys being a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the California Dental Association.
My emphasis is on patient comfort and keeping up-to-date with the latest techniques in dentistry. My artistic background enables me to provide my patients with quality care for the whole family and give them a beautiful smile and pleasant experience.
Dr. Koutchek has always had a passion for learning and was valedictorian during undergraduate school, graduating with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1995. Shestarted practicing in California in 2001.Throughout her career she has completed countless hours of continuing education and constantly seeks new opportunities to enhance her abilities, knowledge, and techniques.
Her approach to treatment starts with listening carefully to the patient, completing a thorough examination, and using new state-of-the-art digital x rays (that admit 90% less radiation), enabling her to diagnose and prescribe the best treatment plan for you and your family. Dr. Koutchek has a wide range of experience in different aspects of dentistry, from cosmetic and restorative dentistry to root canals and oral surgery as well as Invisalign.
Dr. Koutchek compares dentistry to artistry: Im sculpting teeth with my hands, creating something beautiful and lasting. Fixing teeth changes lives, and theres nothing Dr. Koutchek finds more fulfilling than restoring a patients confidence. Ive had patients scared to smile, or patients who automatically put their hand in front of their mouth when smiling because they didnt want show their teeth. Once you help someones smile, Dr. Koutchek believes, the change is dramatic.
Artistry is what fuels Dr. Koutchek, both in the office and outside of the office. She enjoys oil painting, sewing & music, and approaches her work as a dentist the same way shed approach any art form: always staying calm and focused. Patients describe her as having a very serene presence. She is known to sometimes hum softly during dentistry work, and the sound has been compared to a mothers lullaby by patients instantly soothing even in the dentists chair.
