Dr. Rajni Kapoor was born and raised in India. She became interested in dentistry when she was just a young girl (12-13 years old), watching her grandparents struggle with dental problems and dentures. They always had a difficult time chewing and their dentures didnt fit well so they were seldom used. This experience, combined with an interest in the medical field, led her down the path of dentistry.
She received her Bachelors degree in Dental Sciences from a prestigious institute in India in 1998, and served at a charitable dental organization there for 6 years before moving to the US. She then went on to receive her DDS from NYU College of Dentistry in 2013.
After working for 6 years in corporate dentistry and private practices as an associate, Dr. Kapoor felt patients were not being treated the way they deserved to be treated. The corporate dental world was fast and impersonal and didnt allow for the level of individualized care she wanted to provide, so she decided to start her own dental practiceand Mirage Family Dentistry was born
Dr. Kapoor has a passion for continuing education and believes it to be an integral part of her growth as a care provider. She strives to stay current with the latest techniques in dentistry and provide her patients with the best treatments available. She has received advanced training in the field of dental implants, becoming a member and fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. She is also a member of numerous local and national dental associations, including the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Virginia Dental Association, and Tidewater Dental Association.
Dr. Rajni Kapoor is committed to providing the best possible, personalized dental care for her patients with compassion and integrity. She finds joy in being able to create healthy and beautiful smiles, and truly making a difference in her patients lives. She believes strongly in continuity of care, providing the most comprehensive dental services all under one roof.
When shes not in the office helping patients, or giving back to her community, Dr. Kapoor loves biking, music, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her husband, Abhi, is an engineer and they have two wonderful kids, Ashmita and Savir.
Dr. Kapoors level of commitment to caring for her community is no mirage. Her determination to meet and exceed her own high standards of individualized, patient-focused dental care is why Mirage Family Dentistry exists today. Our patients are people, not just mouths full of teeth.

I had a great first experience with Dr. Kapoor! I chipped my tooth pretty badly and although I can't get it fixed now because of pregnancy, she referred me to a oral surgeon and took care of me. She's super sweet and you can tell she cares about her patients! The office is smaller and it makes you feel like you're not just a number. I'll definitely be back, thanks Dr. Kapoor!

My family switched to Mirage from another dental practice we were with for over 30 years but changed hands. We left because the dentist was too pushy with new elective, expensive procedures and treatments that were optional or he received a referral fee from selling. Mirage has none of that pushy used car salesman feel!!! You come in and the staff are all friendly, the tech cleans and the dentist makes her recommendations of what you truly need. No upselling here unless you ask about something. Finally I don't dread going to the dentist and fending off the latest gadget or product!

I was in desperate need of a new dentist after moving here and having a bad experience with a dentist office. Mirage got me an appointment quickly and has amazingly flexible hours that are great for people who work a 9-5 full time job. The staff was so friendly and caring. The hygienist knew about my bad experience at a previous dentist and was so great about making sure that I was comfortable. The dentist was incredibly kind and gentle and was very informative when creating my treatment plan. I was terrified of going back to the dentist, but I'm so thankful that I made an appointment with Mirage. They made me feel so calm and at ease. If you're in need of a dentist I HIGHLY recommend Mirage Family Dentist!

What an amazing experience we had from the front desk to Dr Kapoor. Unfortunately the hygienist wasn't able to make it to work today but the very own doctor said yes to doing my daughter's cleaning. She's usually really good at the dentist but todays my daughter was extra great. Definitely recommend this practice for anyone that has a child with anxiety or just in general. Everyone was amazing.

This is a review from some one who has been avoiding visiting the dentist for more than 5 years... My husband recommended Mirage Family Dentistry and he was so right. I was anxious and nervous, because of bad experiences in the past. All my concerns were addressed and everybody was helpful, kind, respectful and very professional. After my first visit, I immediately scheduled my follow up appointment. I am excited about getting my oral health back on track! Who would have thought? I'm eager to come back

From the front desk staff to the Dentist, I had a very good experience here. They were friendly, caring, professional, and knowledgeable. The X-rays and exam were very thorough as well. I highly recommend Mirage Family Dentistry.

It was terrible experience. During my initial examination, Dr. Kapoor informed me that I had five cavities. Since I hadn't had a cavity for many years, I found this to be highly questionable. So, I sought a second opinion. The second dentist found no cavities. Also, the assistant at Mirage canceled my follow up appointment because I didn't respond to a vaguely worded text 48 hours prior to my follow up appointment (they didn't bother to actually call like most doctors' offices due). And, though I had clear proof of dental insurance, they refused to reschedule my follow up appointment unless I gave them a debit card # or disclosed my SS #. I decided to find another dentist, who turned out to be a lot more professional.

I hadn't been to a dentist in almost 13 years. Finally worked up the courage and glad I did. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Shout out to Zara at the front desk for always being cool and helping me figure out my insurance on my initial visit as a new patient. Dr Kapoor is calm and straight to the point with what you need. Everyone is very nice and accommodating to your needs and comfort level. I like that it's a small practice which takes away some of the anxiety for me. It does take about a month between each visit for regular work needed but that didn't bother me. Anyway, if you are someone like me who gets really anxious for these types of health care visits, you should go here. If I can do it, anyone can.
