While earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University in New York City, Dr. Advani learned about the latest techniques and advancements in dentistry from some of the top professors and faculty in the country.
Upon completion of his dental training, Dr. Advani returned to his home state of Vermont, where he worked in private practice. Dr. Advani is happy to be back in the Chicagoland area, where he has family throughout the suburbs.
Dr. Advani is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable while helping them to achieve healthy, beautiful smiles they are happy with. He treats patients of all ages, offering comprehensive dental care including tooth-colored fillings, crowns and bridges, veneers, teeth whitening, root canal treatment, TMJ and occlusal (bite) therapy, and Invisalign (clear braces for straightening teeth).
Dr. Advani is also very skilled in performing surgical procedures such as extractions (including wisdom teeth), as well as the surgical placement and restoration of implants. Dr. Advani also performs Oral Surgery at three other offices, where he is the only Doctor on staff performing complicated surgeries due to his extensive experience.
In order to continually guarantee the highest quality dental care, Dr. Advani has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education to further his knowledge in the dental field and provide the most up-to-date care to every one of his patients.
In his free time, Dr. Advani enjoys working out, traveling with his wife, spending time with family and friends, and anything that allows him to stay active. Dr. Advani and his wife Dr. Desai are expecting a baby girl in March 2020.

My first time coming here today and I was impressed! I found a new dentist for me and my family. The environment was so welcoming and the staff is super nice. Also very clean. Dr. Shivani was so nice and explained everything to me about the process. I felt so comfortable there. And they even have a tv for you to watch while getting worked on! ;)

I had a great experience as I felt very comfortable with the staff as well as with Dr. Desai. Everyone was very patient and caring. I also really liked the inside of the office, as it was very clean and pretty.

Dr. Shivani Desai Advani was so kind and eager to help me out with my tooth dilemma. Her nice assistant took X-rays with high tech equipment and I was given a treatment plan and a referral to get a root canal. She prescribed an antibiotic and explained how it could affect me and how to avoid side effects. Something no other dentist had taken the time to do. Even though Dr. Shivani doesn't work with my current dental insurance, I will be going back to get a crown placed on my tooth. It is worth it to have a caring and knowledgeable Dr! Thank you Dr. Shivani for showing me kindness during times of pain and fear.

The staff at Mint Smile was so accommodating and courteous. It was easy to stay in contact with them and arrange an appointment I needed based on my needs. The doctor had a conversation with me before my cleaning and I was very informed. My hygienist, Ellie, was the best! She was patient with me as I was nervous, and gave me constant reassurance. She is also very knowledgeable and kind! Thank you all!

Mint Smile Studio always provides me with great dental care. They are helpful in quickly scheduling me when I have an urgent need of dental care, as well as routine checkups. They were able to get me in within a couple hrs notice for an extraction and temp bridge after a crowned tooth broke. In the process of a permanent bridge now. So far I highly recommend this place.
