Dr. Johnson and Dr. Kamodia both attended the University of Michigan for their undergraduate degrees but didnt have the chance to meet until their first day of dental school in 2011. After four years of hard work (and fun) being roommates and friends they went their separate ways to complete additional training through Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency programs. Dr. Johnson worked in Michigan and Dr. Kamodia worked in upstate New York, for a few years, before they decided to move to Charlotte, NC and start a dental practice together in 2019.
Dr. Johnsons passion is rock climbing and seeing children (which is why there is a kids book nook in the reception area), and Dr. Kamodias passion is cooking (hence the cookbook library in the reception area). They both love to travel, they constantly strive to improve their ability to help patients by taking continuing education courses together, and they cant wait to see you at Mint Hill Smiles!

Sometimes its hard to understand what a dentist is showing you on an x-ray. Thats why Mint Hill Smiles has cameras in each room to take digital photographs of your teeth. Our doctors will show you pictures to help you understand what is happening in your mouth.

Can't say enough great things about Mint Hill Smiles. They make my 4 year old son so comfortable. He has never had any fear of going to the dentist with how gentle and loving they are. My husband is also a patient and has never had any complaints. If I hadn't been going to the same dentist for the past 30 years then I would probably switch over, too! Maybe when he finally retires ;) thanks for making my son feel so safe at the dentist!

Best dentist I've ever had. Staff is great. Dentists are skilled. The technicians are top notch. Everything is explained before anything is done. There is virtually no waiting time. The atmosphere is relaxed and relaxing.

I had my cleaning today and it was great. Very friendly and professional staff. I usually have anxiety at the dentist office but they ensured that I was quite comfortable and well informed about treatment. I also received an awesome free gift!! I would definitely recommend Mint Hill Smiles. 5 stars

I recently moved to Mint Hill and was looking for a new Dentist. Mint Hill Smiles' website was well developed and easy to navigate. Definitely a 5 star site. It was instrumental in me choosing this dental practice. But wait, there's more! When I came for my teeth cleaning and checkup I was greeted by the most helpful and friendly staff. I was also totally impressed with the advanced equipment and technology when I was given a tour of the office. I felt like everyone genuinely cared all the way from procedures to billing. This was my best dental office visit ever. I will be referring my wife to this office. Thank you Dr Johnson and staff!

Was looking for a new home office and todays visit went very well. Staff was very professional and friendly. I felt like I was welcomed and was provided with lots of information. Doctor and assistant took time to understand my needs. The coordinator helped to obtain my insurance info and provided detailed explanation on what is covered vs not. I'm very happy with my 1st visit and coming back shortly to get a few procedures done.

The staff was was great and extremely accommodating. The facility was clean and inviting. My hygienist explained every detail so I know exactly what to expect. The doctor also sat down with me and was thorough. Even the front staff was very nice and helpful! Love this dentist office!

Update. Dr. Johnson reached out so I can explain to her what happened. Just to comeback and tell me your filling was going to come out. Meaning it was okay, for Dr. Unison to tear through my filling. Bottom line she's protected him from being in the wrong. It's perfectly fine to file a complaint. Came in pain. Left in pain. He widen my gap tearing through my filling without my permission. No one asked me if this something I wanted to have done. I thought he was looking at my teeth not tearing through my feeling. This should be something the practice repair without charge. Due to this doctor looking to be paid the same day. I didn't come to have dental work done only an x-Ray an additional teeth with some pain. Dr. Unison I would not recommend him.
