Following his military service, Dr. Mammen moved to Connecticut where he was offered an opportunity to help establish and develop the dental department at East Hartford Community HealthCare as the centers first Dental Director.

As the Director, Dr. Mammen was instrumental in not only developing the dental department but also worked with other community leaders in establishing the standard of dental care for the community. He held this position from 2002-2007. During this time, Dr. Mammen was also appointed as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where he was responsible for supervising the students and residents in their treatment of patients. In 2005, with his continued commitment to education, Dr. Mammen became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (F.A.G.D.). Only a small percentage of dentists are dedicated to the time and education that is required to accomplish this recognition.

Upon moving to Houston, Dr. Mammen entered private practice as the owner of The Smile Enhancement Center. He later founded Mint Family Dental in Katy, Tx where he now practices full time. He continues his commitment of excellence in dentistry by providing the highest standard of general and cosmetic dentistry with a personalized touch. Dr. Mammen is here to provide you with all of your dental needs: from a simple filling to full mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Mammen prides himself on providing the best treatment for each individual patient. Dr. Mammen is an active member in the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Greater Houston Dental Society, the Pierre Fauchard Academy (a dental honor society), and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Mammen and his wife, Anju, reside in the Katy area where his wife practices in a thriving pediatric practice. They have 3 wonderful children: Kiran, Maya, and Naveen who keep them busy outside of their practices. Dr. Mammen is also an avid sports fan. He enjoys playing all sports and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Katmas quest for advanced education has continued with numerous education courses in the most updated techniques in advanced Periodontics, microsurgery, implantology and Perio/Ortho advanced accelerated teeth movement techniques. To express his passion for the profession, Dr. Katma voluntarily exceeds the annual required continuing education required by 200-300% by attending international and local conferences to stay abreast of the most current knowledge and technology available in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.

In addition, Dr. Katma is aBoard certified Periodontist,which is the highest level of professional achievement in Periodontics and a distinction achieved by only a very few number of periodontists. Dr. Katma is also an Active member of:

Dr. Katma has published several articles in professional dental and medical journals. He is an active educator who lectures at dental schools as well as local and international conferences on Periodontics, Dental Implants, and Oral Health and periodontal systemic relationship.

I have been in the dental industry for over 15 years. I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in practice administration to Dr. Mammens office. I understand all aspects of financing, insurance, scheduling, and teamwork that are involved in achieving a perfect smile. I was born and raised in Galveston, Texas and relocated to Katy in 2021 with my husband, Mark and 2 children. In my spare time I love to travel, read, binge watch crime documentaries and am an amazing cake decorator!

I was born and raised in the small town of Waller, TX just outside of Cypress. I enjoy exploring Houstons art galleries, museums, parks, and of course all the delicious food. I am a proud bun mom to a 7 year old Holland lop rabbit that I am obsessed with and love showing him off!

As a dental assistant, I love helping patients smile. Whether it be a smile makeover or a simple procedure to help them get out of pain, it warms my heart to witness them walking out of the office showing off their beautiful smile. I also enjoy helping patients understand and get the maximum benefits from their insurance. I strongly believe good quality dental care should not just be in the chair but in the entire office. I will always strive to have patients leave happy about their smile and confident that their insurance benefits are being used to the maximum.

I graduated in 2011 from Kingwood College with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Since then, I have been practicing hygiene in Houston and have absolutely loved it. I believe my role as a hygienist is to educate patients about their oral health and help them reach any goals they may have.

I am a Houston native and enjoy traveling with my wife and my two elementary age children. I also enjoy spending my free time swimming, snowboarding, watching movies/TV and running. I am a Houston Marathon Legacy runner.

I have lived in Katy, Tx for over 16 years, but grew up in Venezuela. Since, I was twelve years old I wanted to be a dentist. To pursue my dream, I attended dental school at the Central University of Venezuela, where I received a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) degree in 1996. After practicing in Venezuela for a few years, my husband was transferred to Houston. I then decided to go back to school and study something related to dentistry because that is my true passion.

In 2013, I received my Dental Hygiene AAS, from HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences, where I graduated with the Highest Honors. I am a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association, Greater Houston Dental Hygiene Society, and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

I am excited to be back at Mint Family Dental with Dr. Mammen and the team. It is a pleasure to work with Dr. Mammen because honesty, perfection, and excellence are the core values of our practice. I enjoy getting to know my patients individually and to provide the highest quality of dental care.
