As a nativeof Warren, Pennsylvania, Dr. Johnson takes pride in being able to work and provide services in the community that raised him. Following high school, Dr. Johnson attended the University of Pittsburghwhere he graduated in three years with a bachelors degree in biology anda minor in chemistry. While he was an undergraduate student, Dr. Johnson worked at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in the Informatics department on various research projects. He was recognized with a top 3 placement in the undergraduate research fair for his work on the electronic patient record.
After completing his undergraduate education, Dr. Johnson returned to Warren and worked as an Intern at the Crescent Park Dental Clinic, where he gained valuable insight into dentistry for the underserved and community service. Dr. Johnson went on to complete his dental education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 2014.
Dr. Johnson was one of only four clinicians to be accepted for the prestigious General Practice Residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Pittsburgh. This advanced training allowed Dr. Johnson to gain experience into many areas of dentistry including crown and bridge, root canals, implants, and cosmetic restorative procedures. It was during his residency that Dr. Johnson developed a life-long love for continuing education. The Pennsylvania State Board mandates a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years to maintain licensure. Dr. Johnson has averaged over 175 hours everyyear since his graduation from Dental School, an achievement that demonstrateshis commitment to continuous learning and providing top quality care.
Dr. Johnson is a member of the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistryand is currentlythe Co-chair of the Continuing Education Committee. He is responsible forhelping to establish and provide top quality speakers and courses to the membership at large. Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Spear Education, Academy of General Dentistry,and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is currently pursuing multiple fellowship awards in different areas of expertise.
