He chose the prestigious NYU College of Dentistry to study dentistry. To further advance his skillset, he joined the Kings County Hospitals advanced surgical and general residency program in Brooklyn, NY. There he gained advanced training in placement of implants, treating medically compromised patients, molar root canals, removable prosthodontics as well as surgical extractions.
After working as an associate dentist in two group practices for few years, he decided to venture out on his own to open Mint Dental along with his wife, Dr. Radhika Kapur. His goal is to provide comprehensive dentistry for adults and kids in the most relaxed and uplifting atmosphere. He wanted to come to work at a place where it didnt feel like work and patients didnt feel like it was just another dental clinic.

Dr Shah and the staff at Mint Dental are wonderful! Everyone from the receptionist desk to the hygienist to Dr. Shah are very nice and skilled. Dr. Shah takes the time to talk and explain everything. He answers all my questions and is so patient. I am so glad I have found them so close to my home! It's so easy to make appointments and reschedule too.

Hey if anyone is looking for a dentist Mint Dental in Emerson is great. Dr. Shah and his team are always timely, pleasant, good listeners, and never push services on you. Best of all, Dr. Shah is gentle and and will make sure you are comfortable while in his care. Highly recommend this practice. My family loves him!

An honest dentist! No unnecessary work. I have come to realize Ive had many crowns I did not need. Modern tools and technology. Great chairside manner. Super friendly staff. I love Dr Shah's practice. 5 stars is not enough.

First visit today as my other dentist retired...I knew as soon as I walked in and was welcomed by the lovely receptionist I would like this practice..Dr. Shah and the hygienist also very welcoming warm and professional. Highly recommend!

Dr. Shah was excellent. This was my first visit to his office. I had a standard cleaning / check up done. I like cause / effect in terms of why things are the way they are. Dr. Nilay Shah is a very skilled, young dentist who made me feel very comfortable in his care. Doctor-patient communication is very easy with him because he listens. Dr. Shah is also an honest person who will not do procedures that I don't need. I know it from my own experience. He explains everything he does along the way and even checks for mouth cancer during the routine checkup. Everyone in the office is a joy to deal with. I never waited longer than three minutes for my appointment. Parking space is available on both sides of the building!

Being used to NYC dental offices where hygienists clean and dentists do a cursory 10-second check afterwards, Dr. Shah's performing the cleaning himself while thoroughly describing my individual tooth and gum conditions was a very refreshing experience. He explained my filling and bonding conditions well, and didn't try to upsell any unnecessary treatments. Very pleasant front desk and dental assistant staff.

I actually don't mind going to the dentist now. Everyone is professional, the office is clean and modern. And you get to watch Netflix on a tv mounted on the ceiling. I was in and out within 30 minutes for my cleaning, and that's including x-rays! Best part, I never get nagged for not flossing enough :)
