Dr. Maryam Avin is a graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School. She is the recipient of multiple honors including the Latcham Medal for excellence in complete oral operative restoration. She is a member of the Gorgas Odontological Honorary Society and is a lifetime member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. She is also Invisalign certified.
Dr. Mina Modaresi is a native of Northern Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from George Mason University with honors. She graduated (magna cum laude) from the University of Maryland Dental School whichis one of the best schools in the country. Shereceived her D.D.S. degree in 1999. Her emphasis on patient comfort as well as keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry enables her to provide her patients with the best quality of care in the field. Dr. Modaresi has a wide range of experience in different areas of dentistry, from cosmetic and restorative dentistry to surgical treatments and root canal treatments.
Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces. Ituses a series of clear, removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets.Invisalign has been proven effective in clinical research and in orthodontic practices nationwide.
You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the their final position.You'll visit us about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.Total treatment time averages 9 - 15 months and the average number of aligners during treatment is between 18 - 30, but both will vary from case to case.
As mentioned above, one of the main advantages of the Invisalign system is that the trays can be removed for easy cleaning. So please don't neglect to do this! You'll need to brush your teeth after every meal or snack so that food and plaque do not get trapped in the aligners, which could promote tooth decay and gum disease. Your aligners, too, will have to be cleaned regularly; you can do this by brushing them and then rinsing them with lukewarm water.
Also, please keep in mind that while wearing clear aligners is very different from wearing braces, the importance of retaining your post-treatment results is exactly the same. You'll want to be sure to wear your retainer(s) exactly as prescribed after your treatment is completed to protect your investment in a beautiful new smile.

I initially chose Dr. Mina Modaresi to correct a filling placed by another dentist that made it painful to chew on my left side, and now wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. The entire staff is knowledgeable and open to answer any questions I may have and everyone there makes me feel like a priority. Hands down the best dental experience someone could ask for.

Dr. Modaresi has been our family dentist for a few years now and we couldn't be any happier... She is gentle, kind, and understanding...there were visits where my little one didn't feel like getting his teeth looked at and she would engage him in playful conversation (while doing a visual check unbeknown to him) and didn't push or force him to do what he didn't want to...she is awesome!! My husband had not been to see a dentist in over 15 years due to previous dental experiences and after literally dragging him to see her the first time, he was so impressed by her that he now reminds me of upcoming appointments and such :) Her staff is just as wonderful as she is and my family looks forward to every visit with them. They are like a part of the family :) I have been and would continue to recommend Dr Modaresi and her team to family, friends and neighbors. Stella

Nice office, warm staff and a very nice dentist. I fell asleep while she was treating me. no pain at all. I had heard about this dentist before but I never thought apart from her Sterling office, she has opened another office in South riding. Highly recommend.
