Dr. Robert & Dr. Juliana Miller are a husband and wife team with over 45 years of combined experience, and take special care to cultivate a family atmosphere in their offices. We often receive referrals from local dentists, be it their patients, friends or family members, and our dedication to quality care encourages that trend. Some of you may have heard this before, and we would like to offer some clarity on the matter. The difference between an orthodontist and a dentist is education, plain and simple. Extensive schooling is required to achieve the official title of orthodontist. To become an orthodontist, one must first earn a doctorate in general dentistry, like a traditional dentist. Then, they must attend an ADA-approved university and complete two to three years of graduate training in the orthodontic field. A dentist may use orthodontics to describe their profession without referring to themselves as an orthodontist. To receive the title of Orthodontist, a dentist must complete a 2-3 year graduate residency in orthodontics at an ADA accredited university.
Upon becoming an orthodontist, Dr. Miller gave three years serving our country in the USAF as Chief of Orthodontics on Clark Air Base in the Phillippines. After completing his military service, he began practicing orthodontics in Culpeper, VA in 1988. He became Board Certified as a Diplomate of theAmerican Board of Orthodonticsin 1992, an accomplishment atained by only 25% of all orthodontists after long rigourous evaluation by peers. Dr. Miller also served as the president of theVirginia Association of Orthodontics for several years. Dr. Miller has always been a pioneer in the field of orthopedic correctors and orthodontic appliances. After developing the revolutionary Flip Lock Herbst device using CAD/CAM technology in the early 1990s, Dr. Miller has continued to innovate. In recent years, he has worked closely with Dr. Duncan Higgins, developer of the Crossbowdevice,in expanding its use as an effective method for overbite correction.
Dr. Miller is a respected member of the orthodontic field, regularly contributing professional publications toorthodontics journals worldwide. He is a member of numerous dental and orthodontic organizations, including theAmerican Association of Orthodontists,the World Orthodontic Federation, theSouthern Association of Orthodontics,Virginia Association of Orthodontists,American Dental Association,Virginia Dental Association, and theNorthern Virginia Dental Society.He also led theSpear Study Clubof Northern Virginiaand isa member of theNorthern Virginia Orthodontic Study Club. Most recently, Dr Miller was accepted into TheAngle Societys North Atlanticchapter upon presenting his original research to fellow orthodontists in Barcelona, Spain in March 2012.
Dr. Robert Miller first earned his Bachelors of Science in Zoology from Clemson University in 1979. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from The Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Miller earned his position as an orthodontist when he completed an orthodontic residency at The Medical College of Virginiain 1985.
Developing innovative orthodontic technology is not Dr. Millers only contribution to the field of orthodontics. He has participated in lecture circuits across the globe, speaking to orthodontists diligently seeking creative new ways to enhance treatment quality and personal comfort for their patients. Dr. Miller continues to lecture across the country, offering expertise in a wide range of orthodontic topics including improving patient-staff relations, office system efficiency, precision bracket placement, temporary anchorage devices(TADs), Class II correctors, and treatment protocols for unique orthodontic appliances. Dr. Miller and his wife (also Dr. Miller) recently completed the McLaughlin Course, a rigorous two-year program emphasizing goal-oriented orthodontics created byDr. Richard McLaughlin, one of the worlds most renowned orthodontists.
After growing up in Southern California, Dr. Miller chose the west coast for her university education. In 1996, she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery, with honors, from theUniversity of the Pacific School of Dentistry.For her General Practice Residency, she attended theUniversity of Washingtonin Seattle. It was this residency that gave her extensive experience in proper management of medically compromised patients. Upon her return to San Francisco, she completed her two-year orthodontic residency and earned her Masters of Science in Dentistry as well as her orthodontic certificate. Dr. Miller has been in private practice since 1999.
Even from the sixth grade, Dr. Juliana Miller has been passionate about orthodontics. After having orthodontic treatment at a young age, her enthusiasm for creating beautiful smiles is not unfounded. The care she received at that age, along with the experience of having braces, proved to be life-altering for Dr. Miller. She was compelled to pursue her education and ultimately her career in orthodontics, and it remains her passion to this day. Dr. Miller and her husband (also Dr. Miller) are excited about raising a family in Park City. She grew up in a mountain town in California and has been skiing since age three, making the Park City community a natural choice for the family.
Dr. Miller has also completed the McLaughlin Course, a comprehensive two-year educational program focused on the benefits of goal-oriented orthodontics. The course helps orthodontists remain actively involved in and educated about the changing technologies and treatments across the dental and orthodontic fields. Dr. Miller also enjoys lecturing with her husband, offering her clinical expertise on the revolutionary Crossbow Appliance to orthodontists in San Diego and Miami. As one half of the only husband & wife orthodontist team in the state, Dr. Miller is truly excited about delivering quality-focused, personalized orthodontic care to the families of Park City. In her free time, Dr. Miller is an excited mom. With two boys, Ronan & Jonas, attending Trailside Elementary and a new baby girl, Lizzie, its easy to recognize the Millers as happy, active parents!

The Millers helped me work through an open bite problem that required oral surgery and braces. It was a long process but they were thorough, careful and precise. Had I had a better orthodontist as a teenager, I probably could have avoided needing jaw surgery as an adult. I highly recommend them to anyone, but particularly if you have more complex needs.

I highly recommend Dr. Miller and Miller Orthodontics. I am new to the area and did not yet have a local orthodontist. When my permanent retainer broke they were able to fit me in same day. Everyone at the front desk, the dental assistants and the doctor were kind, friendly, and helpful. Dr. Miller quickly repaired my retainer and adjusted it to make it more comfortable than it was before.

I moved from Palo Alto, CA to Park City with my fourteen-year-old daughter in the middle of braces. Dr. Miller and his team took the time to research and understand everything about my daughter's health. And they came back with a plan that they executed to perfection. I absolutely love Miller Orthodontics. I drive to Park City from sandy just to see them because they are the best in their progression by a long shot. After braces as a teenager and permanent retainers for 20 years my teeth had moved and created a large gap between my front teeth and my bite was off. My first visit Dr. B went over every option and created the simplest and most effective option to create a perfect smile again. Dr. J, Dr. B and every team member went above and beyond working with me. They are all so kind, friendly, accommodating, and experts in their field. After my initial appointment and coming up with a plan to do aligners, Dr. B and Dr. J decided that the aligners we started with weren't going to be as perfect as they and I wanted. So they designed the aligners themselves so they would be and do exactly what we were wanting. Now 8 months later my bite is perfect, the gap is completely closed and my smile is better then it was after braces. And it was a simple and painless process using the aligners. I couldn't be happier today seeing my smile again. Thank you to the entire Miller Orthodontics team for your kindness, accommodation and the value you place in your patients. I felt like I was going to see friends every time I walked in.

Miller Ortho truly IS a special place! I cannot say enough good things about both Dr. Millers and their staff! I initially met Dr. Bob Miller during the construction phase of the office. Before a single patient stepped foot in the office, his vision and passion for orthodontics and people shows through in every step of the process down to the details. I later brought my daughter for treatment. From our initial consultation to our recent final appts., every interaction we've experienced has been nothing short of top notch. Both Dr. "J" and Dr. "Bob" are extremely knowledgeable and explain each phase so well. They genuinely care about my daughter's treatment as well as working through the financial aspects with us. From the front desk ladies, to the technicians, it's always a pleasure to come into Miller Ortho. A few last appts. and we will be finished with treatment. We will miss coming in to see everyone!

After many years of let downs, disappointment, and being misled.... We found Miller Orthodontics. They came into the middle of his treatment and got us back to where we needed to be. From the doctor to the front desk to the dental assistants, this practice restored my ability to trust an orthodontist again. Not only were they appropriately priced, professional, and prompt; they did what they said they were going to do. We are very satisfied customers and highly recommend Miller to anyone!!

I cannot recommend Dr. Miller enough! We are from out of state and our daughter's orthodontic placeholder partially snapped off while in Park City. Despite having a personal commitment, Dr. Miller drove back from SLC at 8:00pm on a Friday night in order to treat her. We were so grateful that he was willing to see her with little notice for a two minute emergency fix. His office was spacious, clean and modern. Truly a great facility. Dr. Miller was friendly, caring and professional. I genuinely wish we lived permanently in the area so that he could treat both of our children. It is obvious that he truly cares about his patients and even those that are just passing by. We cannot thank him enough and just wish he was in our area. If you are looking for an orthodontist who will go above and beyond, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Miller.

I had a very frustrating experience with Miller Orthodontics. The communication between the staff and both Orthodontists were seemingly not effective. I would be told one thing and everytime I would go in either staff or the doctor would tell me something else. Once COVID hit I had an appointment that I had to go in to and meet with just the Orthodontist. He never showed, we arranged this appointment again so I could pick up my retainers but he was late and didn't have my retainers. This has been a difficult office to get in touch with and get information out of that does not constantly change. Very frustrating. I was moving during the midst of it all and it seemed this office would be very easy to work with initially but it has not been.
