Dr. Miller is a General Dentist and a Hospital Dentist who treats Special Needs Patients (intellectual, physical and medical disabilities). He is the Chairman of the Department of Dental Medicine at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.Dr. Miller is very involved in his profession at the local, state and national level.
At the national level, The American Dental Association, he has served fours years on the Council on Access, Prevention and Interprofessional Relations. He is also served for more than 10 years as a Delegate to the House of Delegates. At the state level, the New York State Dental Association, he is currently the President, is on the Board of Trustees and was the Chairman of the Council on Dental Health Planning & Hospital Dentistry. At the local level, The Nassau County Dental Society, he currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for more than 25 years and has served as President, President Elect, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.For over thirty years, Dr. Miller has specialized in treating special needs patients (intellectually and physically disabled). He currently serves on the Board of Directors and was the Chair of the Council of Hospital Dentistry in the Special Care Dental Association (SCDA), a national organization utilizing education and networking to increase access to oral healthcare for patients with special needs.Involvement in the community is an important facet of Dr. Miller 's career. He served on the Board of Trustees of St. Francis Hospital ('The Heart Hospital') in Roslyn, Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Center and Catholic Charities, Health System Board.Dr. Miller received his dental degree (DDS) from Georgetown University School of Dentistry, Washington, DC. He did a General Practice Residency Program at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn. He received his undergraduate degree (BS) from St. John 's University with a major in biology and a minor in Philosophy.
After completing studies at Howard, Dr. Eliscar went on to complete a two year General Practice Residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. During her second year she served as a chief resident where she mastered her clinical skills, including teaching and administrative responsibilities.
Dr. Eliscar is an active participant in organized dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, Nassau County Dental Society (New Dentist Committee), Second District Dental Society (Brooklyn), National Dental Association for African-Americans (Social Chair), and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.
Dr. Eliscar believes in giving back to the community. She participates in numerous service events locally and internationally. Some of the local events include providing oral health screenings for children with disabilities at the Viscardi Center, Give Kids A Smile, and at Antioch Baptist Church. Internationally she provided dental services to children at an orphanage in Ti Riviere, Haiti. She maintains a continued presence at community action-oriented events focused on oral health care.
Patrice has been involved in Dr. Miller 's practice since it opened in 1987. Now the receptionist and front office manager, she is proud to have been a part of this growing practice with so many wonderful patients. Sharing the journey with the patients have made them very special people in her life!Patrice attended St. John 's University, majoring in Fine Arts. She is the Dance Directorfor the Sacred Heart Academy Dance Theater and 'Nutcracker' production. Pat volunteers at 'Horse Ability' for Special Needs children/adults and the 'Horse Ability for Heroes' program, as well as at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter.
Maude has been a dental assistant for the past twenty five years. She received her dental assiting certification from New York University. She volunteered at Brookdale hospital dental center in Broooklyn NY during her training.
