Born into an extended family of physicians and nurses, Dr. Zubrow felt destined for a career in health care, and working with her childhood dentist as a college student influenced her choice of dentistry as her medical field.
Dr. Zubrow graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Public Health. She then went on to receive her doctorate of dental surgery from The University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Additionally she completed an extra year of training at The University of North Carolina Hospital earning a general practice residency degree. She is currently a member of the San Mateo Dental Society, The California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Zubrow has a history of engaged volunteering. While in dental school, Dr. Zubrow went to Vietnam with Operation Smile, providing dental care for school-aged children in rural villages who lacked access to dental treatment. She also earned the Dean's Award for Outstanding Community service. During her residency, her compassionate nature led her to work with special-needs adults and people with high anxiety and fear of going to the dentist. She loves to help patients with dental phobias have relaxing experiences, and even come to enjoy their visits to her office.
After developing her expertise in diverse settings, from corporate dentistry at Facebook to one of the highest-rated practices in San Francisco, Dr. Zubrow launched her own general dentistry practice, Millbrae Smile Center, in Millbrae, just south of San Francisco.
