Ive wanted to be a dentist for as long as I can remember. It combines my passion to improve peoples health, appearance, and function with my love of making things with my hands. Our patients appreciate what we do for them, and in turn, we appreciate their amazing loyalty overthe past 30 years.

Being in community with people is such an important part of life. We laugh and cry with our patients. They become our friends, our business partners, and even a source of personal fulfillment. The same is true of our staff. Technically, we take care of teeth and gums, but personally, we take care of people.

Its more important than ever to keep up with changes in techniques and technology. I am a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, and in 2009 I was awarded the Fellowship Award for taking over 500 hours of continuing educationand passing a comprehensive exam.

I am originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and have lived in League City for 25 years. Its been a great place to raise my son and daughter, and now I have the joy of seeing my granddaughter grow up here, too. When Im not in the office, I love playing golf, woodworking, photography, and cooking.

I am a Florida Gator through and through. In the 12 years I lived in Gainesville, I missed only one home football game! I am also a member of the Clear Creek Community Church, participate in Bay Area First Baptist Church mission trips to Nicaragua, and volunteer with Dentistry from the Heart.

I cannot express enough how much I love my career in dentistry! I feel honored that people chose me to take care of their oral health and to make their smiles beautiful. I am excited to see what the day brings every time I come into the office.

I am currently involved in a Spears Study Club, where I meet with other general dentists and specialists one evening per month to discuss complex cases. I also enjoy attending seminars and hands-on workshops yearly through Spears.

I have completed Core I and Core II courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Studies in General Dentistry. I also enjoy leaning more about dentistry through the Greater Houston Dental Society and the Ninth District Dental Society.

I was born in Houston. I grew up in and around the Austin area. I went to a small high school in Liberty Hilland graduated second in my class. I met my husbandDanwhile in dental school in Houston and we settled down in League City in 2005.

Dan is an aerospace engineer and works for a NASA contractor. We have three rambunctious boys. Sullivan loves swimming, piano, and Batman. Cashel loves baseball and art!!! Finn loves riding bikes, gymnastics, soccer, and swimming. We also have a Schnoodle named Snap and a bunny named Rosie.

I am always on the go with my three boys! I love running and have done one marathon, several half marathons, 10Ks, and several sprint triathlons. I also love doing crafty stuff for birthday parties and school activities. We love to travel as a family, go to the beach, camp, hike, and ride our bikes.

When it comes to my community, I am active on the PTA at our elementary school and volunteer in the childrens ministry at my church for ages K through3rd grade. I have also sponsored Lunar Rendezvous princesses and lieutenants, and volunteer with the swim team.

I love that our patients share their lives with us and allow us to get to know them and their families on a personal level. I especially think its great thatthe kids ask when they can come back again! Living in the same community in which I practice gives me the chance to see my patients at the store or at soccer games, and I get to know them personally. That really makes a difference when it comes to building trusting relationships.

Not only am I working towardbecoming a master in the Academy of General Dentistry, which requires more than double the hours of continuing education annually than any other affiliation, I am also a member of a local study club. Dentistry is evolving so quickly that you need to keep on top of new materials, techniques, and technology. We want to offer our patients the best and most comfortable care possible.

I enjoy playing with my kids and reading most of all, but also likesewing, crafting, and photography. I also volunteer with the Spanish Dual-Language Program at Stewart Elementary and am involved with our church.

Having grown up with a pediatric dentist for a mother, going into dentistry myself seemed like a perfect fit, and it has been! I love that every patient is different; no two patients are alike. My patients have proved to me that it isnt a one-size-fits-all approach, and I love the uniqueness each one brings to our office. Working with so many unique people means I get to be of service to others and help people maintain and improve their oral health, quality of life, and appearance.

I am currently pursuing my Fellowship degree with the Academy of General Dentistry, which is a lifelong commitment to advanced education. I am also part of the Spears Study Club with local dentists and specialists. Staying up to date on the latest technology, science, and dental research is important to me in order to give patients superior treatment and care.

My husband and I are both natives of La Porte, TX where we currently live because we both love the Gulf Coast! We have 2 beautiful daughters that fill our days. Beyond dentistry, I enjoy gardening, yoga and traveling but my favorite thing is spending quality time with family and friends. I also volunteer with Give Kids a Smile Day, Lighthouse Ministries, and Texas Mission of Mercy, in providing dental care to underserved populations in Texas.

I went to two dentists prior to going to Mill Forest and neither helped my awful tooth pain. I took one step into Mill Forest and felt totally at ease. Dr. Butler was the most competent dentist! She was so easy to talk to, really listened to me, and made time for my care. She really took the time to get to know me and the issue I was having before recommending treatment. Thanks to her, I've finally stopped having the horrible pain I was having. Thanks Mill Forest dental!

Courteous, friendly, and professional staff. Well-appointed office. I wish I had know about this dental office sooner.

I went for a cosmetic consultation a few months ago. The doctor didn't do anything except take a photo on his PERSONAL IPHONE of my teeth. No other exam, imaging, or anything was done. He then continued on trying to convince me to get braces again which I've already had. THEN since then, I've gotten at least 5 bills in the mail from them saying I owe $97 for a photo to be taken on an iPhone by the doctor... I paid it, and I feel scammed. Nothing was done and now this doctor has a photo of me on his personal cell. WEIRD, UNPROFESSIONAL, and never coming back. I paid almost $100 for something I could've taken on my own phone. Do NOT go here if you care about being taken care of.

The office quoted us the price beforehand for an xray and exam. Then the hygienist took a panoramic xray instead of bitewing xray without informing us that there would be an extra cost. As we were leaving, we were charged $100 more than the initial amount we were quoted. This is unacceptable.

My husband and I have been with Dry Allen for more than 20 years. He is amazing! My children are now seeing Dr Butler and Dr Hermstein. They are so wonderful with children. I would recommend it to anyone. All staff are so caring, and they always work with my work schedule. Thank you Mill Forest Dental Group! You are the best in the Clear Lake Area!

The dentist that did the work was very demeaning and doubted the work of our family member(who had been a dentist for more than 30 years before retiring) had done. Then when he did a filling, he did a terrible job and we had to go back to fix it. If your going to criticize other people's work, you better make sure yours is perfect. On top of that, it seems everything they do is in the best interest of their bank account, not the needs of the patient.

Dr. Allen is the best! Honest, knowledgeable, kind, and caring. He's been my dentist for about 20 years. My family comes here too (parents, sibling, spouse). The staff here is also great.

Gwen, Dr. Kenneth Hasson, and a dental assistant (sorry I didn't remember your name) stayed late on a Saturday! I spent hours trying to find any dentist that would see me (including my Dentist that was supposed to be open and calling my dentist's emergency line with no one answer). Mill Forest Dental Group save me money and time ( the ER would have charged me 20 times what the Dentist did). Dr. Kenneth Hassen and his assistant were extremely gentle and didn't cause me any extra pain at all. That is saying a lot because taking dental x rays is painful when my mouth isn't swollen and inflamed. The Dr. was explained everything and answered my and my husband's many questions. They treated us like they had all the time in the world and weren't staying late just for us. No one rushed us at. I can't say or thank them enough. I would recommend them to any one and everyone! God Bless!

We appreciate the professionalism and kindness of the staff at Mill Forest Dental Group. The office is lovely and inviting. You will feel at ease and know that you are in good hands. They have appointment times to fit within your schedule and I love the text reminders. Wait times are minimal so you never are in the waiting room more than a few minutes. It is encouraging to find an entire office (front office, hygienists, and doctors) of friendly, courteous and knowledgeable people. We see Dr. Hermstein and love her!
