Ive wanted to be a dentist for as long as I can remember. It combines my passion to improve peoples health, appearance, and function with my love of making things with my hands. Our patients appreciate what we do for them, and in turn, we appreciate their amazing loyalty overthe past 30 years.
Being in community with people is such an important part of life. We laugh and cry with our patients. They become our friends, our business partners, and even a source of personal fulfillment. The same is true of our staff. Technically, we take care of teeth and gums, but personally, we take care of people.
Its more important than ever to keep up with changes in techniques and technology. I am a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, and in 2009 I was awarded the Fellowship Award for taking over 500 hours of continuing educationand passing a comprehensive exam.
I am originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and have lived in League City for 25 years. Its been a great place to raise my son and daughter, and now I have the joy of seeing my granddaughter grow up here, too. When Im not in the office, I love playing golf, woodworking, photography, and cooking.
I am a Florida Gator through and through. In the 12 years I lived in Gainesville, I missed only one home football game! I am also a member of the Clear Creek Community Church, participate in Bay Area First Baptist Church mission trips to Nicaragua, and volunteer with Dentistry from the Heart.
I cannot express enough how much I love my career in dentistry! I feel honored that people chose me to take care of their oral health and to make their smiles beautiful. I am excited to see what the day brings every time I come into the office.
I am currently involved in a Spears Study Club, where I meet with other general dentists and specialists one evening per month to discuss complex cases. I also enjoy attending seminars and hands-on workshops yearly through Spears.
I have completed Core I and Core II courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Studies in General Dentistry. I also enjoy leaning more about dentistry through the Greater Houston Dental Society and the Ninth District Dental Society.
I was born in Houston. I grew up in and around the Austin area. I went to a small high school in Liberty Hilland graduated second in my class. I met my husbandDanwhile in dental school in Houston and we settled down in League City in 2005.
Dan is an aerospace engineer and works for a NASA contractor. We have three rambunctious boys. Sullivan loves swimming, piano, and Batman. Cashel loves baseball and art!!! Finn loves riding bikes, gymnastics, soccer, and swimming. We also have a Schnoodle named Snap and a bunny named Rosie.
I am always on the go with my three boys! I love running and have done one marathon, several half marathons, 10Ks, and several sprint triathlons. I also love doing crafty stuff for birthday parties and school activities. We love to travel as a family, go to the beach, camp, hike, and ride our bikes.
When it comes to my community, I am active on the PTA at our elementary school and volunteer in the childrens ministry at my church for ages K through3rd grade. I have also sponsored Lunar Rendezvous princesses and lieutenants, and volunteer with the swim team.
I love that our patients share their lives with us and allow us to get to know them and their families on a personal level. I especially think its great thatthe kids ask when they can come back again! Living in the same community in which I practice gives me the chance to see my patients at the store or at soccer games, and I get to know them personally. That really makes a difference when it comes to building trusting relationships.
Not only am I working towardbecoming a master in the Academy of General Dentistry, which requires more than double the hours of continuing education annually than any other affiliation, I am also a member of a local study club. Dentistry is evolving so quickly that you need to keep on top of new materials, techniques, and technology. We want to offer our patients the best and most comfortable care possible.
I enjoy playing with my kids and reading most of all, but also likesewing, crafting, and photography. I also volunteer with the Spanish Dual-Language Program at Stewart Elementary and am involved with our church.
Having grown up with a pediatric dentist for a mother, going into dentistry myself seemed like a perfect fit, and it has been! I love that every patient is different; no two patients are alike. My patients have proved to me that it isnt a one-size-fits-all approach, and I love the uniqueness each one brings to our office. Working with so many unique people means I get to be of service to others and help people maintain and improve their oral health, quality of life, and appearance.
I am currently pursuing my Fellowship degree with the Academy of General Dentistry, which is a lifelong commitment to advanced education. I am also part of the Spears Study Club with local dentists and specialists. Staying up to date on the latest technology, science, and dental research is important to me in order to give patients superior treatment and care.
My husband and I are both natives of La Porte, TX where we currently live because we both love the Gulf Coast! We have 2 beautiful daughters that fill our days. Beyond dentistry, I enjoy gardening, yoga and traveling but my favorite thing is spending quality time with family and friends. I also volunteer with Give Kids a Smile Day, Lighthouse Ministries, and Texas Mission of Mercy, in providing dental care to underserved populations in Texas.
