Our dental office uses the most up to date dental equipment available. We use low dose digital x-rays, CariVu cavity detection, dental practice management software and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for our anxious patients.
Dr Melissa Patenio, our Pediatric dentist has implemented the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control, American Dental Association and our state, and federal government guidelines. In addition to wearing PPE, we will be requiring that all visitors and patients wear masks, we will conduct pre-treatment Covid questionnaires and take temperature readings. Each of our rooms have Medify air purification devices that providemedical grade HEPA13 filtrationcreating safer environments for both patients and staff. All of our instruments are cleaned and sterilized after each use. Each room is disinfected and surface barriers are used. We useEPA approved, non-toxic, broad-spectrum hospital grade disinfectantto kill any viral/bacterial pathogens on surfaces.If you have any questions about our procedures, please do not hesitate to ask Dr Patenio.
Miles Of Smiles Dentistry For Children accepts PPO dental insurance plans in their Gurnee dental office. This office is In Network for the following dental PPO insurance plans. If you do not see your plan, please call us, we are adding plans every day.
Get the maximum insurance benefit allowable for your dental treatment. We will work with you and your PPO dental insurance company to process your claims. Unfortunately, your dental insurance company will only pay for a portion of your dental care. We will estimate your portion and ask you to pay only your patient portion at the time of service. We do not accept Medicaid or Public Aid at this time.

Great experience from the moment we stepped in the door. My daughter got two cavities filled. The hygienist and dentist were so friendly and upbeat that my daughter didn't even know she was "supposed" to be scared. We will definitely be using Miles of Smiles for all my daughter's dental needs.

Dr p & team are phenomenal.... If you are looking for an amazing FIRST dental visit ever for a kid....this is it! Everything is so fresh, new, modern & clean! Receptionist; friendly & efficient....very good energy throughout! My 3 year old got 2 pick what he wanted to watch off Disney + (we don't even have that at home lol) & he was not scared at all. I really admired how the hygienist was so sweet & patient but very informative and let my 3 year old hood the instruments & play with them before she used them in his mouth. They had the cutest photo drop area set up for afterwards for "my 1st dental visit" photo shoot #howawesome! It was nuts my son DID NOT want to leave he kicked his rain boots off and demanded to stay!!! He loved it. 5-Stars ... but I would give 10 if I could! Highly recommend:)

They were so kind and patient, and helped my four-year-old feel so comfortable. They showed him all the tools, explained everything they would be doing, and were really receptive to times he was starting to feel nervous or uncomfortable.

I took my daughter here for her first dental visit and it was absolutely incredible! I was so important by how sweet everyone was with her. They did so much to make her feel comfortable and even excited! Everything down to the smallest details of the experience were well thought out with the comfort of the child at the forefront. I'm so delighted that we found Miles of Smiles and am excited to continue to bring my children here!

This is hands down the best place to take your child. I had so much anxiety taking my 3 year old because even so much as a CALL to a dentist, my son would freak out and hide. I don't know how they do it, but they do. My son refused to open his mouth for any dentist until this practice. The entire staff is truly wonderful. Thank you so much. I'm just glad we finally found our go to pediatric dentist! You won't regret coming here.

Great experience. My (2.5 yo) son's first dentist visit. He was nervous and scared at first but they let me sit in the chair with him, showed him all the tools and how they worked. The hygenist was nice, my son was so much more at ease within 10-15 mins. Dr. P was lovely, we liked her a lot, had a great bedside manner for a childs dentist. Made our next appt in Sept. My son is very excited to go back, he talked about the dentist for a solid day and a half

Very clean office. Doctor and staff are very professional and very nice. My 20month old kid didn't cry at all. Highly recommend. :)

Registration was quick and efficient, my child was able to breeze through his first dentist appointment thanks to the friendly staff who understands how to make children comfortable. The doctor listens to you and explains well. Would def rec this place to all.

Wonderful! They work so well with children, my daughter did amazing with them filling her cavity. They explained everything to her, made her feel comfortable, and successfully filled the cavity without any issues. Highly recommended for all Children's dental needs!

Even though they've been open a year, Covid put the kibosh on a ribbon cutting - until today. Dr. Patenio and her team specialize in dentistry for children. They bring out all the stops to specifically make sure your child is comfortable from great colors to TVs in the rooms to a genuinely caring staff (kids know).

All the staff members are always so pleasant and welcoming to my kids (3&11). My little has always had a great experience and they are so patient with him as he learns about what goes on at the dentist. I always feel very involved and informed about my kids oral health which is why we chose a Pediatric Dentist! I recommend Miles of Smiles 110%!

Never got plan emailed. Wants to put caps on teeth with cavities. Current dentist says that's a sign of a lazy dentist that doesn't want to to the work.

So happy to have this office locally in Gurnee, but I'd honestly drive quite some distance if needed. We have never had an easier dental exam. We gave this practice a try for our 7yr twins after a bad experience elsewhere. Both are touch sensitive and easily gag, and equated going to the dentist as a terrible experience. The receptionist and hygienist both worked to put them at ease. Once a little more relaxed they started with x-rays, which neither had been able to do before. But here the got the x-rays easily. Next was the cleaning, my more sensitive one still a tougher time, but got through with far fewer issues then normal. My less sensitive one left the chair telling how me how easy it was. The dentist was just as calming as the rest of her staff, and neither child had an issue with her exam. Cannot give them a strong enough recommendation.

We had such a great experience with Dr. P and Lisette. My two year old's first visit to the dentist went better than I could have dreamed thanks to the caring staff. He can't wait to go back again.

I was adamant about finding a pediatric dentist for our girl's first dentist visit and I am so glad that our dentist recommended Miles of Smiles to us. Both of the girls were hesitant to participate but with kindness and warmth both had great visits with no tears or worries. So thankful the first dentist visit went great and looking forward to continuing their care at Miles of Smiles Dentistry.
