After graduating from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1983, Dr. Jones served as a Dental Officer in the United States Air Force for twenty years; 7 years of active duty, and 13 years in the reserves. Dr. Jones received extensive post-doctoral education during his military service, including training in Advanced Prosthodontics and the treatment of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders.
Dr. Jones started out in private practice in 1990 when he was invited by Dr. Roger Riley to join his office in Newport Beach, CA. Dr. Riley was a renowned educator and former full-time faculty member of the USC School of Dentistry with a passion for gnathology, the science of how teeth come together. It was during his work with Dr. Riley that the foundation was laid for Dr. Jones zeal in creating solutions for individuals with esthetic and functional concerns.
The time-tested principles that he learned early in his career have served him well. Dr. Jones is an expert in solving esthetic and functional problems due to tooth wear, damaged and lost teeth, as well as occlusion and bite disorders. Dr. Jones aims to balance health functions and esthetics using the latest in-office dental technologies. He has mastered the most current innovations in dentistry through continuing education at The Dawson Academy where he is both a Scholar and an Ambassador. The Dawson Academy is renowned for its courses in continuing education; dedicated to teaching a comprehensive approach to dentistry with concentrations in occlusion, temporomandibular joints (TMJ) and esthetic restorative dentistry.
His numerous professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Orange County Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Equilibration Society, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Orthodontics.
Reaching beyond his patients and academic communities, Dr. Jones has been passionate about his work for supporting youth sports. He is past president of the Irvine Sports Committee for which he served for over 10 years. He volunteered to coach Irvine boys soccer, baseball, and basketball, and served on the Little League Board for over a decade.
Dr. Jones counts among his greatest blessings his wife of over 30 years, Debbie and their two grown sons. The oldest having graduated from SMU, is now attending Stanford University Graduate School of Business. The younger, who graduated from Williams College in Massachusetts now works as a Management Consultant in Boston. Together they enjoy the outdoors snow skiing, wake boarding, golfing, and scuba diving.
Dr. Priya Melwani is a native of Irvine and Newport Beach. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, Irvine, Masters in Public Health with a dental emphasis from A.T. Still University and graduated with honors with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Dr. Melwani couples her passion for patient care with a focus on continued education, staying current on new advances and technology in dentistry to best serve her patients.With the guidance of Dr. Jones, Dr. Melwani is undergoing the rigorouscurriculumof the renowned Dawson Academy to further her training in TemporomandibularJoint (TMJ) and occlusaland bite disorders.
As a clinician, Dr. Melwanis goal is to provideexcellent,compassionate dental care in a professional environment.Her personal mission is to exceed expectations by providingthe highest standard of dental care to her patients while buildinglong termrelationships of trust and compassion.
Dr. Melwani is excited to be practicing dentistry alongside Dr. Jones, and giving back to the same community that helped shape her into the person she is today.She andherhusband, Vishaal, recently welcomed their first child, Oliver. She is an avid Dallas Cowboys fan who will not miss a game. She played basketball in high school and still enjoys watching the Lakers. Outside of spending time with her husband, son, and fur baby,Romeo,Dr. Melwani is a self-proclaimedfoodie who loves to travel.
Lynne and Dr. Jones met at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1982 while she was pursuing her Registered Dental Assistant license. After moving to Orange County fifteen years later she joined our dental team. Lynne is a versatile team member who takes on a variety of roles within the office with great dedication. Lynne can be found assisting Dr. Jones chair side or working in the laboratory, as well as helping at the front office. She enjoys the fact that over the years many patients have become friends.
Sandra has been assisting in the field of dentistry since 1996. In 2007 she obtained her Registered Dental Assistant license. Sandra joined Dr. Jones as a chair side assistant in 2015 and shares Dr. Jones passion for the dental profession. She believes continuing education is a life-long pursuit and has a thirst for knowledge.
Sandra is married with three grown children. She loves to sing worship music, loves the beach, and enjoys biking with her dog. For many years Sandra has lovingly volunteered as a dental assistant at Care Harbor LA.
Debbie has been married to Dr. Jones since 1987. Her professional background includes working in pediatrics as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Throughout the years Debbie has helped with various administrative aspects of the practice. In 2018 she became the full time Practice Administrator. She has a passion for providing excellent patient care so that those who come to our office have the best experience possible. She is extremely proud to work alongside Dr. Jones and his exceptional team.
Debbie is a native southern Californian. She and Dr. Jones have two wonderful adult sons. When not working she enjoys time with family and friends, traveling and serving at her church, where she is a mentor mom to younger women.
Leslie began her dental career in the Seattle area as an assistant before moving back to Southern California. Her passion for dentistry started while she was working for a full mouth reconstruction cosmetic practice in Irvine for 14 years. She took an absence from dentistry to stay at home to raise her 3 daughters, when she and her family moved to North Carolina where she returned to work in an excellent dental practice. She began working with Dr. Jones upon her relocation to Orange County. Leslie is passionate about providing patients with great dental education as well as ensuring patients have a positive experience in our office.
While raising her daughters Leslie was an elite runner, competing in long distance races. In her spare time she cherishes the time she gets to spend with her daughters and staying active with most outdoor activities.
Ally graduated from West Coast University with her Bachelor's of Science in Dental Hygiene. She has found her passion for dentistry in working with her patients to deliveroptimal oral and systemic health, as well as, developing friendly and nurturing relationships with her patients. She feels at home working alongside Dr. Jones and his awesome team and strives for her patients to feel the same way. Ally lives in Huntington Beach and loves spending time with her friends and family by being active outside,playing board games, attending concerts, line dancing, time at the beach and a good happy hour. She cannot wait to meet you!
Courtney has been working in the dental field since 2013. She worked as a Registered Dental Assistant for five years prior to beginning her journey in dental hygiene school. Courtney obtained her Bachelors Degree of Science in Dental Hygiene from West Coast University in 2019, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Courtney has a passion for dentistry and works hard to educate her patients on the importance of optimal oral hygiene and its connection to overall systemic health. When she is not working, Courtney enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves traveling to new places, exploring new hiking trails, and trying new local restaurants.
