After graduating from Youngstown State University, Dr. Mika attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1991. He then completed a General Practice Residency at the Western Reserve Care System in 1993 and entered into private practice at that time. In addition to his private practice, from 1995 to 2005, Dr. Mika also maintained a mobile dental practice which provided dental treatment for area nursing facility residents. While a member of Special Care Dentistry Association and the American Society of Geriatric Dentistry, he completed over 150 hours of continuing education in geriatric dentistry.

Dr. Mika has extensive experience in general dentistry, performing various procedures in the fields of preventive dentistry/oral health, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, crown and bridge, implant supported crowns and dentures, prosthodontics (dentures and partials), and endodontics(root canals). The practice of dentistry has seen many changes in the past twenty years, due in large part to technology. Dr. Mika has invested in his practice by bringing this technology to his patients. Not only is his practice run by dental practice management software, but digital radiography, digital photography, soft tissue laser surgery, laser caries detection and CAD/CAM dental restorations are practiced daily.

Dr. Mika is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, Corydon Palmer Dental Society and is a Pre-Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry which represents a dedication to lifelong learning and overall oral health for the public. He has achieved Standard Proficiency Certification from the Academy of Laser Dentistry. Dr. Mika also participates in the Dental Options program which provides discounted and donated dental services to qualified individuals in Ohio.

Dr. Mika is married with two sons and a daughter. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoys music and is an avid drummer. He is a diehard fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and also enjoys hiking, bicycling, fishing, hunting

Maureen is Dr. Mika's lovely wife and has worked with Dr. Mika since he opened his private practice in 1993. Her eight years of experience working in the installment loan department of Mahoning National Bank have proven to be beneficial as she has worked several front desk positions for Dr. Mika. Maureen enjoys hiking, bicycling, cooking, and traveling to see her children and grandchildren.

Renee has worked with Dr. Mika since 1998 and is the person the staff can depend on to keep things running smoothly. Hired to work the front desk, she has also served as dental assistant and currently works to maximize our patients ' insurance benefits. Her twenty years of experience in the Data Processing Department of Mahoning National Bank make her an invaluable member of our team. Renee is married, has raised three children and has nine grandchildren. She enjoys gardening and golfing and is involved with the LOVESWEET Memorial Fund.'

Heather is a graduate of Youngstown State University where she graduated at the top of her class. Heather is our full time hygienist while also teaching clinical dental hygiene at YSU. Heather has a strong interest in the arts and enjoys music, movies, painting and photography. Heather likes to travel when she can but mostly enjoys her time spent with her daughter and her cat.

Lisa is the most recent member to join our team. She began working with us in 2014 after becoming a Certified Dental Assistant at the Choffin Career and Technical Center. Although her skill as a dental assistant was evident immediately, she is most appreciated for her ability to get along with everyone. When Lisa isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her three children and going for walks with her Tea Cup Yorkie. Lisa also enjoys bike riding and watching movies.

Nicky is one of our part-time hygienists and is a Youngstown State University Honors Graduate. She is married, has two children, and is currently a peewee cheer coach. Nicky is a 4-H advisor and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and pets.
