I was born in Cabaiguan, Cuba in 1964 and came to the U.S. when I was five years old. Although I have lived in many places, Tampa, FL. is my home town, where I feel most comfortable. I graduated from Tampa Catholic High School and then attended University of Florida and graduated with a B.S. degree in Zoology. I was awarded my D.M.D. degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA in 1992. Soon after graduation, I was accepted into the Advanced Education in Dentistry program at University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital where I received advanced training in oral surgery, dental implantology and hospital dentistry. This training has been the foundation for my brand of comprehensive dentistry. One stop shopping, I can do most procedures out of one office, from root canals and extractions to beautiful cosmetic cases at very reasonable prices.
I have enjoyed private practice since 1996, at this current location, serving the West and South Tampa communities. I am a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, International Congress of Oral Implantologist, and Christian Medical and Dental Associations. I also actively participate in missionary dentistry and have been on CWE medical missions teams to the Amazon River, Brazil, Nicaragua, and Togo, West Africa, a few years ago. I have had the privilege of taking all three daughters as part of medical missionary teams throughout the years.
In addition to an active dental practice, my family has always kept me busy at home. I have been happily married to my wife, Isela, since 1989. My family all share my love for the outdoors. Fishing, camping, scuba diving and hiking have been favored activities from very early on in their lives. The Lopez family also stays very active in their church, Keystone Bible Church in Odessa, Florida.
I was born and raised in Moldova and speak bothRomanianandRussianlanguages. Icame to the United States in 2005 and have lived in the Tampa Bay area since.In 2013,I completed my B.S.in Biomedical sciences at the University of South Florida and was awarded my D.M.D.degree from the University of Floridain 2017.Ibegan my dental careerworking foracommunity clinic in Tampa.
I enjoy spending time with my family, my wife,andmy3 beautiful children. We enjoygoingonbike ridestogether, hiking, visiting new places and learning about new cultures. We are actively involved in our church and like meeting and getting to know people.
We are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Each member of our treatment team and office staff has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the latest in technological advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.
Trained in general and periodontal dentistry, my focus is on providing high quality care to my patients and educating them on how to maintain good oral health. I strive to put my patients at ease during their visits, utilizing many hours of continuing education for the best possible outcome. Out of the office, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, gardening and trying new culinary experiences.
Lisa graduated from Philadelphia Community College as a dental hygienist in 1993. She is a happily married mother of two grown boys. She has over 18 years of experience and has been working with Dr. Lopez since 2009.
While working, I like to help and treat patients so that they feel the most comfort possible, and as such treat them with a lot of love and respect. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family, exercise with my husband and two puppies, or visit my children who have already formed their own families; I also like going to my community church.
Angelica graduated from UMA, Tampa, FL as a Dental Assistant in 2016. She was born in a mining town in the province of Holguin, Cuba, where she studied Accounting & Finance. She is an only child and a mother to her 5 year old daughter, whom she encourages to practice proper dental hygiene, emphasizing the importance of flossing, brushing, and regular dental visits just as she does to her patients, family, friends, and acquaintances.
I really like what I do. I enjoy seeing successful treatment results just as much as the patient does, from the simplest treatments to the most complex. It truly is an honor to work with Dr. Ion Rotaru and Dr. Miguel Lopez, and all of the team in general, who have a perfect mix of professionalism, experience, talent, and dedication to achieve the best results for each patient that puts their trust in us.
Miriam is a NYC native, born and raised in Washington Heights, NY. She relocated to Tampa in 2015 and has been part of our team for over a year, bringing over 10 years of dental office experience. She is fluent in Spanish and English
I enjoy educating our patients with financial or insurance questions, as well as helping our patients utilize the maximum of their insurance and making sure they understand their benefits. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and four children. I am also an active member at my church, Oasis Ministries.
Monica is currently attending Concorde Career Institute to become a Dental Assistant. She has two years of dental receptionist experience and is another new addition to our team, joining us in December 2020. She is fluent in Spanish and English.

I had nerve pain and Dr Lopez was quite sure which tooth it was but knew it was probably temporary, as it was. Dr Lopez knows it's better to be absolutely sure before giving his patient a root canal, very honest. Many other dentists would not. I respect him so much, he has my trust, of which I don't give out lightly.

Dr. Lopez I'm sure you will remember who I am i am the girlfriend of a patient of your he has been seeing you for 30 years spent a lot of money with you we thought you were a good guy but you did something that we never expected he gave you over 4000 dollars for a denture and extractions and you didn't honor the contract he always paid cash we were shocked when you asked for more money and i thought you guys were like family but now he has no more teeth you can't make money on him so you kicked him to the curb

They was very helpful they was amazing & outstanding. They make sure I was very comfortable during my Procedure I got a root canal done for the very first time... i also had no pain no pain he made sure was very numb . I recommend EVERYONE to go to they facility it was very clean.. they will get you right my smile is almost finished I was so nervous the staff and doctor made me a strong believer's of a root canal no pain no game

just started my new dental relationship with Dr. Ion Roturo.His "bedside" manner is amazing.all of the staff extremely friendly and very helpful.i wish i would have found him sooner but i know i found my forever dental caregiver.

Been seeing Dr Lopez for over 30 years spent alot of money with him because he does not accept dental ins spent 3,600 dollar for some extractions and a partial denture after he go to the end he wanted more money to finish the job this doctor is all about money money money i will not be going back of course i have no more teeth for him so he can't rip me off anymore good luck

I was referred to Dr. Lopez and I could not be happier! I'm very sensitive about my teeth and can be a challenging patient. Dr. Lopez was very understanding, answered my questions, talked me through procedures and treated me with compassion, even when my poor attitude toward dental work would come out . I had a root canal done and I'm as happy as someone can be about the process and how the treatment turned out. Hopefully it will just be cleanings from here on out, but regardless I'm glad to finally have a dental home!
