Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.
No really, just dont. Weve all seen someone open a bottle with their teeth. An amazing feat? Nope, but a great way to cause micro fractures in your teeth. Using your teeth to rip open potato chip bags or to crush ice are also no nos.
The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.
There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

I searched for a dentist that has a great reputation, staff that are knowledgeable, budget-friendly, convenient scheduling and location. From the first day I felt welcomed, answering any questions I might have. As my dental exam proceeded, the Dr. gave me my options, and we put a plan in place, everyone in the office worked together as a team. The office is extremely clean, necessary precautions are in place with Covid 19. I would definitely recommend Midwest Dental for your dental needs!

I've been going to Midwest Dental for a few years now and never really had issues until recently. My 6 month check up was rescheduled due to the hygienist being out with a migraine. The soonest appointment available would be 2+ months out. Ok, not happy but what do you do? Last week they called and could get me in the next day due to a cancelation. Great, I'll take it. Upon my arrival I went through all the covid screening questions and had my temperature taken. The hygienist asked me if I had a headache, I responded yes, the same one I've had since I had covid in December. I've recently changed primary doctors and she is addressing some of the long term effects that I've been having. She told me having a headache is a covid symptom and I'd need to reschedule. Seriously, out the door I went. There are othere dentists and hygienists in the area.

I've been going to Midwest Dental for two years now and am glad I chose them when I moved to Waterloo! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. My 4 year old son just started doing and was a little apprehensive about it. He does SO WELL because of how warm and friendly everyone is. Would highly recommend!

Who likes going to the dentist? No one! But everyone at Midwest Dental in Waterloo does their best to make it a pleasant experience!!!! Receptionist is friendly and courteous, my dental hygienist was exceptional, and Dr Spurgeon was great (since I didn't have any cavities).

This place is fantastic. I was just there today. A nervous wreck because it's been years since I have seen a dentist. Yes I need work. And the staff helped me find a wonderful solution that fits my budget. The prices are great. Yes its still expensive but compared to others its great. Now go brush your teeth.

Amy, their insurance specialist always handles all my insurance claims and I don't have to worry about anything.
