Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.

No really, just dont. Weve all seen someone open a bottle with their teeth. An amazing feat? Nope, but a great way to cause micro fractures in your teeth. Using your teeth to rip open potato chip bags or to crush ice are also no nos.

The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.

There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

Midwest Dental was AWESOME . Heather was amazing in helping me understand what she was saying rather than speaking all doctor with me!! She made amazing recommendations and was just extraordinary!! Thank you!!

I will never step foot in there again. I hope the staff enjoyed themselves. They basically only talked to each other and barely acknowledged my presence. Every part of the procedure was made unbearable right down to the staff's bedside manner or lack thereof. I wouldn't go there if you paid me. Lastly, their staff shouldn't have to make excuses for their employer. You bought cheap x-ray machines. I get that it was a cost-saving decision, but I wish the comfort of your customers was your primary concern. You should also make sure patients know what you're doing BEFORE you do it.

This office has always had a revolving door of doctors but the rest of the staff used to be pretty consistent. The billing has always been awful and very delayed, however. But since mid 2021 when the doctor, the receptionist and the best hygienist left it got much worse. The new staff had no idea what's going on and now the office isn't open enough hours to accommodate regular patients. I never understand why clinics, etc are closed on fridays. That isn't convenient for the patient that's for sure. Won't go back there again. Haven't been there in well over a year and they just sent me a bill (that I did not receive before) "due upon receipt"--- what?? I don't think so!

Very pleasant experience. Good customer service. Difficult to schedule appointments sometimes as they work limited hours and days per week.

I gave a 5-star review @ one time, but, unfortunately, patient service has gone down hill and nobody in this office cares. The receptionist is always confused and doesn't seem like she has any idea what she's doing. After one visit, I got multiple calls that they needed information off my insurance card....I gave it to them while I was there, so, that was baffling. I had a tooth pulled there and it was a very difficult extraction that caused pain for weeks. I let them know that because I couldn't even go to work and their response was it will get better soon....Wow, thanks for the positivity. 3-4 months later, I started having throbbing pain again. I called to let them know. Their response was I can get you in 3 weeks from now. So, I used numbing medicine 10x/day for 3 weeks. When I finally got in, they took a lot of costly x-rays and basically told me I had tooth sensitivity so I should use sensitive teeth toothpaste 5x/day until it went away. Tooth sensitivity doesn't cause throbbing pain. They also gave me a $60.00 out-of-pocket treatment that did absolutely nothing. I let another month go by, then stopped in again and told them I was in pain. After 15-20 minutes of telling me how busy they were, she finally agreed to let me talk to the dentist. Again, I was told nothing was wrong. I guess I was just making up the whole story so I could spend more fun time in a dental office. She looked at the x-rays again because I insisted that something is wrong. Low and behold, the x-rays showed a giant cyst under the extracted tooth area. After she patted herself on the back, I was referred to a dental surgeon. So, still in pain, I called the surgeon because nobody contacted me. They aren't able to get me in until February or March. I told them I was in pain, she apologized and I was put on a 15-20 person cancellation list. So, I called Midwest Dental again and let them know the situation and that I need to be referred somewhere else because I'm in pain. I was told to just call around and then let them know where I was going and then they would send the x-rays and referral. I was very sorry to bother them (SARCASM). Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. The whole situation is unreal to me and they are the most incompetent people I've ever dealt with. It's been about 8 months and I still have throbbing pain daily

I really wanted to like this place since it's local. My family of six (thats a lot of potential money in dentist appointments over 18 years) needs a family dentist. I sent in the form on their website on January 12th which stated someone would get in touch with me soon to confirm. I called on the 25th because I hadnt heard from anyone. The receptionist took my info down and placed me on a hold. When she came back she said "the weather" had their dentist office backed up. What weather? For two weeks? The snow storm supposedly happening on 1/25 was hours from starting and I wasnt looking for an emergency visit. She told me I should call back next week. I asked if that means they arent taking new patients at this time and she said "we are but were really backed up we MIGHT be able to help next week." Which 100% came across as "We cant be bothered to take your info down and help you get an appointment next week or the week after right now, try again later." I said no thanks and called Dr. Rick. Got an appointment in 3 minutes with his staff for next Tuesday. Im sure the dentists at midwest dental are great but Customer service/reception is the face of a business and theirs sucks.

Probably shouldn't be rude and laugh at a client when they call about an insecurity or issue they are having. Rudest staff ever. 10/10 would NOT recommend

Very knowledgeable and patient to explain causes, effect and procedures for dental care, including insurance and billing. COVID-19 Protection was extremely impressive. Never been a fan of Dentist, however this office and staff changed my thoughts, immediately upon arrival.

I like the dental place. The staff workers are nice and make you feel homey. And the dentist she does excellent work on teeth. I would recommend her to anyone I knew. I'm glad I found my dentist to go to when I need a fixing in my mouth.
