Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.
No really, just dont. Weve all seen someone open a bottle with their teeth. An amazing feat? Nope, but a great way to cause micro fractures in your teeth. Using your teeth to rip open potato chip bags or to crush ice are also no nos.
The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.
There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

I love Shawn my dental hygienist at Midwest dental. She is always so sweet and gentle and really cares about doing her best on my teeth. Midwest is lucky to have her as well as I am. Everyone goes above and beyond at this office.

Ok so the dentist, Andrew was quick and straight to the point, oral surgery was the MAIN focus so I only needed him for the referral & to review my Xray at the time looking forward to go back for my thorough visit though. The review is really for Marcia(hope I spelled right) at the front desk....they were done with me...but I walked back in with tears after calling around rockford b/c I was in so much pain and oral surgeons were booked out. She took the time to call up one office who actually saw me today...(surgery went just fine) But I thank her for her patience with me! No one seemed annoyed and ready to send me on my way without fulfilling my dental need. Thank you guys so much & Ill see you soon!!!

This is a really nice office, calming and a very nice staff. They answered my questions and explained my treatment plan nicely. I've been to offices before where I felt like they wanted to rush me out for the next patient. I didn't feel this way at all.

Very very disappointing care. I have gone to Midwest Dental many years and always felt taken care of but not this time! I have 2 front teeth crowns for the past 3 years and I spontaneously had on fall of this past Monday. I called @ 9:30 AM to try to get in right away as I was scheduled to work out of town the next 2 days almost 3 hours away. Right away I was told there were no openings that day and I was never asked if I was in pain and not given any help with how to care for tooth site-- I was told she would call me if she got an opening-- I didn't get a call back so I called again @ 1 PM and was told again no openings and asked to be put on the schedule Thursday when I would be back in town. I never got a call back that day that there were no openings which I thought would have been a courtesy I've earned as a regular patient. When I got to my appointment Thursday the Dentist was very kind and explained I needed a rod in my tooth to hold the new crown needed. I explained to him my need to make the tooth at least temporarily presentable and he asked the dental assistant to move people around to make this happen sooner. The Dental Assistant stated they would have to order the rod so that could be 2-3 days. I offered to pick up needed rod at another Midwest Dental and no was the answer to that. Up front the receptionist said she couldn't move me up as all the patients were confirmed until Wednesday the next week and it was Thursday. I asked to be called if the rod came in and I could get in sooner. I would be 3 hours away Monday and Tuesday but I would drive back to get it at least to the temporary state. If I had gotten in for the Monday "Emergency " Appointment as I only was there 20 minutes Thursday-- I could have possibly been able to get at least the temporary today---Friday if they had to order the rod. I felt the Dentist was telling the staff to fit me in but the staff was not willing. You asked and I hope others can be treated better. I feel like a Halloween Jack o lantern without my front tooth.

This was my first time going here and I felt welcomed from the time I arrive until the time I left. From Marcia who was warm and welcoming to Shawn you was kind and gentle and finally to Shah who although I only meet for a few minutes I had a great impression of him. I had a great experience and would highly recommended them.
