Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.
No really, just dont. Weve all seen someone open a bottle with their teeth. An amazing feat? Nope, but a great way to cause micro fractures in your teeth. Using your teeth to rip open potato chip bags or to crush ice are also no nos.
The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.
There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

X-rays done quick. Ppl were nice but Was lectured about why I should keep a tooth vs extraction. Ok. I get it, but dentist kept going. Finally had to say I'd consider and left. (I honestly planned on doing my own research on what he was suggesting. It was made clear that I had up until the procedure time to decide which I appreciated) Made an appointment. It is beginning of November. First they had was March. Set the appointment. Told them I did not want a referral to oral surgeon. They gave it anyway. Called next day to request removal from email and texts and confirmed appt so they didn't think I didn't want to be seen. I guess they just decided to cancel the appointment without talking to me. Instead they sent out a letter she said. I don't know if the receptionist was worried about me paying but I told her it was fine bc my insurance gives me a flex card that more than covered the cost. They were my only option so I guess I'm SOL (I'm not a super personable person but don't feel I was rude. I didn't raise my voice or argue. I did have a headache starting so light and sound were not my friend and the mouth pain may have put them off?)

I always knew that were expensive but my latest cleaning they identified I would need 2 fillings replaced and my share $110. I got charged $153 then got a bill for $191. Seems they guessed???? At what my copay would be but Cigna considers a resin filling degraded and they only cover metal. With all the help turnover no wonder the poor service and that they are part of a corporate group. Never again but I must say Dr Chatterjee is outstanding, I would go to him again under different circumstances. Never again for Midwest. $344 patient cost to replace 2 fillings. To bad the company does not take care of the patient like the doctor does, well thats corporate care!

Overall they do a great job here. But this is the third time they have made me wait and excessive amount of time. A lady before me was extremely late. We were there before her. Instead of letting us go before her we waited till she arrived. This was already 25 min past our scheduled time. And they said it was going to be quite awhile before we could get in. By the time we waited for her it would have been an hour we had to wait. They apologized and said we could reschedule if we wanted but they should have made her reschedule being so late. It's time to find a new dentist.

I've been going to Midwest Dental in Portage for over five years, and they do a good job. All the Hygienists I've had are not only efficient and thorough, they are also incredibly nice and make every visit a pleasant experience. The front desk staff are just as nice and send plenty of reminders for the appointments I set months in advance and typically forget. Dr. Chatterjee is as personable as the rest of the staff, and he always answers questions thoroughly and honestly. Most of all, I appreciate never being prescribed unnecessary dental work.

The hygienist was particular about her job and made sure the cleanliness of my teeth was well done. She was friendly and attentive. Office staff were friendly and helpful. Dr. Was pleasant and went over the hygienist's assessment of her findings regarding my dental health with her. It was a good "toothy" day!

Been going here for a while, have the dental hygienist Alora, she's very nice and makes going to the dentist a better experience even though I don't brush my teeth as much as I should. Would definitely recommend!

I was in two days in a row - a filling that turned in to a root canal. Dr Chattergy and his team were incredible, kind and patient with me. The front desk is also great to work with. We drive 30+ minutes for his care. I'd you're looking for a dentist, I would highly recommend Midwest Dental in Portage!
