Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.
No really, just dont. Weve all seen someone open a bottle with their teeth. An amazing feat? Nope, but a great way to cause micro fractures in your teeth. Using your teeth to rip open potato chip bags or to crush ice are also no nos.
The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.
There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

1. The dental hygienist are great! I have been going for a few years and had good service. Due to circumstances of my life I did make and cancel several appointments. I was a caregiver for my Mom which I did not know if she would get sick. This was my fault. The front staff stated I would have to call the day I could make it and if there was an appointment available they would squeeze me in. I understood this due to all the cancellations. Went for regular cleaning and Dr Bess said she had time to fill cavities. Unfortunately I did not have the time. I asked may I make an appointment my Mom has passed. Her response was no we can't do that. I understand time is money but don't I deserve another chance? If they don't want me just tell me. 2. My husband dentist retired so I referred him to Midwest. They filled a cavity and he scheduled for a teeth cleaning. They took X-rays. Said he needed several teeth extracted and parcel. His teeth were not bothering him. He left with a hefty estimate and did not get his teeth cleaned. They could not do that! Needless to say he went to another dentist. More than happy to clean teeth, filled cavities and much more cheaper than Midwest. They are all about the money. They just meant everyone to get credit from Care Credit so they can inflate their prices. Not for the middle class people.

My husband and I have had great experiences here! Dr Bess is fabulous, love Angie and Blanca and the business office ladies!! All around great office... usually someone is great at an office and you find others who are not, but here, everyone is kind, compassionate and helpful!!

I had to get two molar teeth pulled north on the left side of my mouth. One on top, one on bottom. I'm not usually nervous about going to the dentist, but knowing this was going to be pretty painful, I was. The assistant made me feel relaxed. She just made small talk and made sure I was ok before we started. The dentist came in and explained exact my what she was gonna do. Made sure my mouth was plenty numb before she started pulling the teeth. They explained to me what I should do with the medicine they prescribed and what I should eat for the first 24 hours. All in all it was a good experience. I will definitely be keeping them as my main dentist.

I went to the Pontiac office. I was taken back to a room and told to sit in dental chair. The tech immediately started taking X-rays. Then the dr came in and told me she would pull two teeth that day. The tech told me they do not offer a payment plan and I would have to pay over $800. that same day because my insurance wouldn't cover all of the charges. I left the office with my teeth hurting. I couldn't afford that payment on that day. Needless to say I couldn't get my teeth fixed. They were not helpful at all.

Great experience like usual! Dr Bess & Blanca are always so kind. Nancy was helpful with getting my insurance eligibility checked. I really like this office and would definitely recommend.

Had a problem tooth. Was able to get a first available appointment. Quickly into the chair. Dr. arrived shortly. But not before being made comfortable and all necessary business conducted by his assistant. So bad canal on a bottom molar. Dr. Gray went over all options. They made the necessary referral paperwork for a specialist that takes care of old failed root canals. Then I left with a prescription for antibiotics. Top notch. Very pleased.

Left my fiancee hanging crying in pain because we didn't have 400$ to pull one tooth on us at that very moment. Wouldn't take payments or anything. We could've covered 70$ that day and had the rest next day but nope. We also explained the antibiotics she was on was making it worse and she needed something more aggressive if they were gonna send her home in pain but they prescribed her the same antibiotics that were making it worse. They don't care about people only paychecks. We went to Dr. Jordan two days later and had the toothed pulled for half the amount and they are also oral surgeons so you'll never be referred out to someone else like at Midwest.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience for my 88 year old mother's first visit to Midwest Dental. Dr. Bess, and every member of the staff we encountered, was kind, patient, helpful, and professional. I felt confident in the advice/treatment we received and would definitely recommend this dental office.

I had a chipped tooth on one of my back teeth. I went in expecting to get a crown, but after x-rays were done it was a tooth that already had a filling and it was discovered that I had decay within the tooth, not leaving me with the option of a crown, I was disappointed to have to lose a tooth, but after Dr Bess explained to me that a crown was not feasible, I believe she was trying to save me the cost of a crown that probably would not have last. An extraction is never fun, but she explained everything she was doing, and I had full confidence in her. I would say if you are looking for a dentist, you can be confident in selecting Midwest Dental.
