Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.
No really, just dont. Weve all seen someone open a bottle with their teeth. An amazing feat? Nope, but a great way to cause micro fractures in your teeth. Using your teeth to rip open potato chip bags or to crush ice are also no nos.
The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.
There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

I'm a long-term happy patient at Midwest Dental. Recently I chipped a tooth. I called and was scheduled the next day. The tooth was quickly repaired and I was on my way good as new!

The assistant didn't seem like she knew what she was doing but she was nice. I felt like they didnt do a full teeth cleaning. The dentist came off as snippy and rude.. overall I wasn't impressed and won't be back.

I have gone to Midwest for roughly three years, but am finally leaving. The hygienist and front desk staff are always kind, but the dentists I have experienced have been short, rude, and dismissive. I only see the actual dentist for a couple minutes each visit, with little to no explanation of what they are doing or any findings. The last straw was my last couple visits. In January I came in with pain and sensitivity in a tooth. The dentist confirmed a cavity, but said it wasn't worth filling and to come back in 6 months and have it checked again. I still had pain and sensitivity issues that entire time. I called prior to my next appointment in June to say that I was still having issues, and that I would like to get it filled at my same cleaning appointment. At the appointment the dentist said the cavity had grown and should be filled soon, but that they didn't have time that day. Then I was not offered another appointment until late September. It is unacceptable to wait 9 months for a known issue. I was able to get in at another dental office in town. Initial checkup, record updating, and filling taken care of within 3 days of requesting an appointment, by far nicer staff who took time to explain everything. Oh, and at half the cost (after insurance) than Midwest had estimated. Several of my coworkers have left Midwest over the past year for similar issues. I wish I would have listened to them sooner.

Brian Weir was the best dentist my husband and I had. He was a very caring person. My mother had health issues and when she saw him for an emergency, he phoned her on a Saturday afternoon to check on her and how she was doing. We loved him and his wonderful smile and laugh. He will be very hard to replace.

Dr weir is good but right now is suck i have the worst 1 hr delay appointment and the new worker in there is not treating patients good like it use to be so I recommend a different place.
