Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.

The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.
There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

I used to dread going to the dentist, but since switching to Midwest Dental, Dr. Mike, the wonderful hygienists, and support staff...there is no more dread! They are all so kind, knowledgeable and friendly!

At every visit, Dr. Watkins is always upbeat, huge smile (you can tell under the mask), always jokes with my son! The hygienists always joke with him too! I love this office!

Two years ago Dr. Watkins replaced the crown on my front right tooth. Wasn't a couple of weeks and it broke off. Had to go back in and have it completely redone. Soon after, it broke again. He did correct it again, but I was done with him. Went to another dentist in Chatham for my next checkup. They did new x-rays and could see how poorly this was done, telling me it was necessary to have a new one made and put on. Unfortunately, my insurance paid Midwest and won't allow another one for 5 years. 2 years after the poor job was done and redone, I get a bill in the mail from midwest for $84, stating it was a portion denied by insurance. Needless to say I will not be paying for this and plan to file a claim with the BBB.

I'm overjoyed with Dr. Watkins. I need a lot of work done and the last dentist I visited wanted me to take out a loan for well over $7000 to fix my teeth " upfront." So glad Covid hit because I couldn't complete the finalization and I was apprehensive anyway, and the outbreak gave me time to think and do some research on average procedure costs. Dr. Watkins costs are fair and reasonable. And I'm so glad I sought out procedure costs because I discovered that the place where I was going to go was charging me three times what the cost of my procedures would be. Talk about price gouging! But not Dr. Watkins! Also, Dr. Watkins has the most impeccable bedside manners (maybe it's because his wife works there and keeps him in line, lol) And the work he performed on my root canal ... superb! The atmosphere is always perky and bubbly, and the staff are wonderful. It's the first time I have actually enjoyed and look forward to going to the dentist! Finally, if you're looking for a dentist, hands-down it would have to be Dr. Watkins at Midwest Dental!

I hv had a lot of dental work in my 50+ years. From braces as a kid. Dr Watkins At Midwest Dental did the best exam ever. The hygienist is also super awesome. I can't wait to go back.
