Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.
No really, just dont. Weve all seen someone open a bottle with their teeth. An amazing feat? Nope, but a great way to cause micro fractures in your teeth. Using your teeth to rip open potato chip bags or to crush ice are also no nos.
The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.
There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

From when I walk in the door everyone was friendly. I was impressed with the professional but personal attention from start to finish. They talked to me and discussed what work needed to be done and listened to what I had to say. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends. My son has started coming here also. The dentist, her assistant and the scheduler were all extremely helpful in getting us quickly scheduled and lovingly cared for when my 95 year old mom had a need for an extraction for a tooth abscess. They were very patient, and let us as caregivers help them get my mom with dementia to receive critical care. They were like angels for us and we couldn't be more thankful for the care received!

5-17-22 - Update: I went back to Midwest Dental today for a tooth extraction (no fun). I had a tooth extraction before in a different place, and I can tell you the experience at Midwest was not traumatic at all. They even offered a follow up appointment to check how the gum is healing!! Once again, great service! 5-10-22 - Great service. Friendly staff, and an outstanding dentist.

I had a terrible experience at this dentist. I had terrible pain during the fillings that almost caused me to pass out. The fillings were done so poorly that I had to go to another dentist to get them fixed and pay another bill. I was in severe pain for months. I have been making payments on my bill even though I had insurance. As I am struggling to make ends meet during the covid pandemic they sent my bill to a bill collector and added $35 to the bill. I should have refused to pay the bill from the start due to the terrible experience. I hope that no one has to go through what I have with this dentist.

Had my first teeth cleaning since the lockdowns started. Megan did a great job as my hygienist and couldn't have been happier. The experience was as easy as it comes at the dentist & we had a great banter going. Great job! See you this fall.

I have had my teeth cleaned by at least a dozen different hygienists over the years, but Megan (the hygienist at this office) was easily the best. It had been a while since I have seen a hygienist, partly due to so many bad experiences, but Megan was very thorough and gentle, and my teeth and gums now feel the best they ever have. Throughout the appointment she provided me with a lot of valuable education to keep my teeth healthy going forward, and on top of that she was a blast to talk with. It was readily apparent that she is incredibly passionate about her job which helped contribute to the overall great experience that I had. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for an excellent dental experience.

Like many people I do not enjoy going to the dentist. I have to say from the moment I walked through the door that everyone was very nice and super friendly. Dr Henry and Ruth explained everything that they were going to do and why. My exam was VERY thorough and I felt relaxed and comfortable. My experience with the hygienist (please forgive me but I can't remember her name) was wonderful. She did a great job cleaning my teeth and she made me feel like I knew her forever. I cannot say enough good things about all of the staff. You all are the BEST! Thank you.

Thank goodness for the new staff!!!!!! For a family over anxious about dental work, this place is quite literally the ONLY place we will go, as long as the new staff stay on! We appreciate everything you ladies' did for me and my son and actually, can not wait to return for our future dental needs. I had an amazing experience at this dental office with Dr. Marilyn Henry! I am typically not a fan of going to the dentist, but she was understanding, helpful, explained what was going on and gave great advice going forward with dental care. She offered, but never forced/pushed products or treatments on me, which was a relief since I've experienced it with others in the past. If you're looking for a great dentist, I would definitely recommend going here!
