Our office provides patients with comprehensive patient-centered care. We tailor our dental care to each individual's unique situation. Unlike most dental offices, we have chosen to focus our care model around strong preventative care. In practice this means that each patient gets to spend more time with our providers and our providers have an opportunity to gain a better understanding of each individual's overall health and specific risk factors for dental disease. Our goal is to provide each patient with quality personal attention so that they can develop a thorough understanding of their own dental health.
Both Dr. Young and Dr. Marlin obtain extensive continuing education on a yearly basis in order to provide patients with the most current and effective treatment options. In most cases we are able to provide comprehensive care for our patients, however in certain situations we will coordinate care with other dental specialists.
In an effort to provide our patients with the utmost experience in their dental care we work closely with the top dental specialists in Anchorage. Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to dentistry allows each patient to enjoy the unique talents of each member of the dental team and results in the ultimate level of patient care and satisfaction.

In order for this form of dental care to be effective, it requires a much deeper understanding of an individuals comprehensive health and lifestyle. We are not simply reacting to disease, we are trying to determine your individual risk factors for dental disease before the disease develops. Our goal is to always teach our patients how to be their own best dental advocate.

Dr. Young and his staff always exceed my expectations for service. I know what to expect for each visit, what services are being performed and what the cost will be. They clearly review treatment options and let me decide what I would like to do. I feel that Dr. Young takes a conservative approach and I have always been happy with the work anyone in his office performs.
A native of rural Sonoma County California, Dr. Young grew up playing sports, as well as fishing, hiking, and biking his way through the redwoods. After his graduation from high school he followed family roots back to the Pacific Northwest and attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA (Go Zags!), where he graduated with a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Young then headed to Omaha, Nebraska where he completed his formal dental training at Creighton University School of Dentistry (Go Blue Jays!). Following graduation from dental school Dr. Young realized a life long dream by moving to Alaska. He now enjoys exploring our great State with his wife, Molly, son, George, daughter, Emma, and best bud Granite (black lab).
Dr. Young spends much of his time out of the office fishing, hunting and skiing around Alaska but his first passion remains providing quality dental care to his patients. Dr. Young is a past president of both the Anchorage Dental Society and Alaska Dental Society and he continues to be involved with organized dentistry. He is a life long member of both the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry, which hold members to high ethical standards. He volunteers locally with several 'free dental days' and also lends his hands to 'Donated Dental Services' through the United Way. He has participated in the planning and patient care at all 4 of the Alaskan Mission of Mercy events, which have been a great success. Occasionally he can also be found teaching in the UAA Dental Assisting clinic.
Dr. Marlin grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and attended college at the University of Northern Colorado where she graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. After returning home for a few years, Dr. Marlin headed back to Denver, Colorado to complete her formal dental training at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. Out of the office, Dr. Marlin has a passion for deep sea fishing (she even caught a Marlin in Hawaii!), water skiing, hiking, travel, and baseball (Go Rockies!). Dr. Marlin is excited for the opportunity to provide quality dental care in her hometown and looks forward to new adventures in our beautiful state.
Ive lived in Alaska since 1983. My husband and I have raised 4 children here in Anchorage. I appreciate the unparalleled beauty of Alaska and love to spend time outdoors (especially hiking). I am a graduate of the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alaska and am an active member of the Alaska Dental Hygiene Association. I am thrilled to be working with such an exceptional team of dental professionals. As a hygienist, I would love to help you achieve and maintain optimal oral health through regular visits and patient education.'
I was born in Alaska but grew up in Eastern Washington. In 2001 I moved back to Anchorage and Alaska. I graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2010 with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. I am an active member of the American Dental Hygiene Association. My husband and I both enjoy skiing and snowmachining in the winter and camping and fishing in the summer.

Dr. Young is so caring and gentle. It's very obvious he cares about your overall health and well being and explains every step of the way how and why he will do things. My hygienist Kristine was amazing too! No judgment when I don't floss.

Amanda was my hygienist and I've never had such a thorough yet comfortable cleaning. I also saw Dr. Marlin who was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, gentle, and comprehensive. I'm recommending this practice to everyone!

Dr. Young and his office staff are top notch. Recently I had my front tooth break on a Saturday. I called first thing Monday morning to see if I could get in. Dr Young was gone but Dr Marlin got me right in and repaired my tooth. The following week I took my daughter in to get some sealants and a tooth removed. She was having major anxiety over getting the tooth removed and was emotional as we went into the office. Dr Youngs assistant did a great job talking to my daughter and getting her completely calmed down before Dr Young came over. Dr Young then took the time to show her pictures of what was going to be done and explaining what tools he was going to use which put her mind at ease. I have been going to this office for years and I am always impressed with how friendly all of the staff is. Amanda and Kristine are wonderful hygienists. I highly recommend Dr Young and Dr Marlin. Thank you for all you do.

I highly recommend Dr. Lani Marlin and Dr. Evan Young. They are amazing dentists who practice excellent dentistry, care about their patients and have the best bedside manner. They have knowledgeable and kind staff who make you feel comfortable when you first walk in the door to sitting in the chair. I thankful to have found them for my dental office.

I am not a fan of going to the dentist BUT I believe I am a fan of Dentist Young AND his office! Everyone including Elizabeth at the front desk and Mackenzy who took me back were helpful, friendly, professional and so caring. I was dreading going to a new dentist with my recent move to Alaska but Dr Young put me at ease and took his time to examine and ask questions to ascertain the best treatment plan. I usually feel doctors can be so distracted and rushed to get through the 'queue' but this was the opposite. THANK YOU!

I started coming here 6 years ago after my dentist retired. Their staff is very professional. They are on the pricier side, but their work is top notch and everything is clean and state of the art. I would be afraid to go anywhere else.

Just came from my New Patient Exam and Cleaning at Midnight Sun Smiles and was thoroughly delighted with my experience. Their safety protocol was well established and made you feel very comfortable using their office during Covid and all the risks involved. Upon arriving I met with the x-ray technician who took my temperature, & measured my Oregon level. She had me wash my hands and gargle with a peroxide mouthwash, then took my x-rays. When she was done I saw the dentist next. Dr. Marlin gave a very thorough exam explaining everything she was looking for on my X-rays. She took time to discuss my teeth and how to best treat them to keep them in tip top shape. Ananda, the Dental Technician who cleaned my teeth was also wonderful. Due to Covid I was way overdue for my cleaning and She made me feel very comfortable the whole time she was working on my teeth. They even have a new polishing machine that is SO WONDERFUL, feels like a massage for your gums! I then met again with Dr. Marlin and she went over additional information about my x-rays! I most definitely recommend midnight Sun Smiles!
