Doctor Laura Ward is a Louisville native. She loves her hometown so much that she decided to stick around for her undergraduate and postgraduate studies! In 2005, she received a degree in biology from the University of Louisville. She went on to obtain her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the same school in 2009.
Dr. Ward is passionate about dentistry. Shes a lifelong learner who keeps up with the latest advancements in dentistry by attending more than the required amount of continuing education courses each year. She prides herself on being one of the best family dentists in Middletown, KY.
She is certified in oral sedation, Six Month Smiles accelerated braces, and Invisalign clear aligner teeth-straightening therapy. She prides herself in her ability to provide a rare level of comfort, quality, and convenience that her patients find refreshing!
When shes not in the office taking extraordinary care of her family of patients, youll find her spending time with her three children: Anna, Gabe, and Jackson. She enjoys spending quality time with them, attending sporting events, and going to concerts. Dr. Ward also enjoys crafts, reading, and taking on DIY home projects.

Marissa has been the Middletown Commons Family Dental Insurance Coordinator since August of 2017. She graduated from the University of Louisville, but is an avid U of K fan. She enjoys keeping up with her current patients and getting to know the new ones. When you interact with Marissa, youll always be greeted by a smile on her face. In her personal life, shes a newlywed and a proud dog mom of two Golden-Doodles, Macy and Lucy.
Kristin graduated from MedQuest College in 2018 with her EDDA certificate. Afterwards, she completed a course in coronal polishing from U of L. Kristin enjoys improving the oral health of her patients and finds the dental field extremely rewarding. She has one catOllie and when shes not in the office, she enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Serving as our Office Manager since July of 2015, Jennifer has made a significant impact on our practice. She loves helping patients and relieving them of the hassles of insurance. She is a huge fan of the University of Kentucky and regularly keeps up with their sporting events. In her free time, she loves watching her 8-year-oldAddysonplay softball.
Kylie is one of our talented dental hygienists. She graduated in 2012 with an associates degree in dental hygiene. She thoroughly enjoys working with the staff and patients at Middletown Commons Family Dental. When shes not tending to patients, she loves spending time with her husband, Zane, and son, Maddon. Some of her favorite hobbies include attending Dave Matthews Band concerts and Notre Dame football games.
Phoebe Bartlett has been an EDDA for the last seven years. She enjoys interacting with her patients and making them comfortable in a dental environment. Its her mission to kick patients fear of the dentist out the door. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her fianc and stepdaughter. They are currently planning their upcoming wedding in Fall of 2019. She loves resting on her days off and is busy planning her next vacation out of the country!
Connie completed the ATA College Dental Assisting program as well as the coronal polishing course at UofL. She has been an EDDA for 6 years and prides herself on being a patient advocate. At home, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and making memories with her 4 children and 2 grandchildren.

Zero privacy, a big complaint! I didn't get the completed work promised on time despite many calls to them. A $2,000 vacation got cut short by 4 days because of an unfinished product (after 6 weeks of waiting and being prompt with all appointments requested) and because I couldn't eat even the softest of foods after spending $2,000 (in cash) on this dental work. They gave me an unfinished product with no remorse, and said I would come back for more, that's not happening. I'm sure they are happy, they soaked me for a lot of money!

Had two attempts to get an old filling replaced. Was referred to Scott Endodontics who did a great job doing my root canal which was needed to stop pain. I quickly setup a follow up appointment w Middletown Commons to get my crown done. Upon arrival they took an xray and checked the tooth and told me they were short staffed and could not do my crown. Now the procedure wont happen for another two weeks. Not impressed. They could have let me know at the time I made the appointment or earlier today so I did not have to rearrange my schedule to fit in this visit.

Do not take kids here, the new dentist does not do well with them at all. It's a shame because Dr Ward was always good. Edit: make that two visits in a row. If the Dentist is not comfortable working with kids do not schedule a second appointment and lecture the parent about how her parents are pediatric (whatever), that is irrelevant. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL on that Dentist part. Safety is first, so do not have a dentist attempt something if they cannot provide a proper service. We have been taking our kids there for years and have always had great success but not with this new dentist.

I've been seeing Dr. Ward for the past two years, and I can't express how much they've helped my sister and I! I was terrified of going to the dentist and hadn't been since I was a child; I was recommended Dr. Ward and decided to give it a try based on the glowing reviews, and I can't express how grateful I am that I did! The first cleaning session was challenging because my teeth were not used to the sensation, but they were so attentive that they even gave me an X-ray pad to use as a weighted blanket to help with my anxiety! In the two years I've been with them, I haven't met a person who wasn't incredibly lovely and excellent at their job! I now go for cleanings every six months and no longer require the "weighted blanket" they are so nonjudgmental and friendly that I always feel at ease when I come here. I will continue to go here as long as they are here and would recommend them again and again!! They saved my teeth, and I'm grateful to the entire team!

I'm not one to leave bad reviews unless I actually have had multiple bad experiences somewhere. The staff here is lovely, all very friendly people. However, I have had two botched fillings come from here, one that's requiring a root canal to fix. I'm not sure why, but they almost exclusively have dental hygienists doing the dental work instead of an actual dentist, which I was originally okay with until multiple mistakes were made that are now costing me a fortune to get corrected. I also had to tell one of the hygienists 3 times that I don't have wisdom teeth so that can't be the cause of a toothache before she would listen to me, and she had an attitude about it and left the room and never came back. Save yourself the trouble and future correction costs and find a different dentist.

Wish I could give no stars. As website states office will get you in for an emergency the same day I called at 830am and per site they close at 1pm. I advised person on the phone my filling fell out and I am in a lot of pain she told me I couldn't get in until 10am Monday not today I feel like site is misleading

After having fillings placed about a year ago, and now needing them replaced, not due to decay, but because of them simply not being done correctly, I feel I'm obligated to write a review. My dentist now took new x-rays, and stated "those fillings are left with open margins, no contact, and doesn't look like they used a bonding agent", I don't necessarily know what all that means, but I do know that I have to come out of pocket for 4 teeth because they weren't done properly by this office.

Dr. Bishop has been nothing less than fantastic! The staff are all super helpful and friendly and the fact you can make payments is also extremely convenient. The only dentist I have seen that is more worried about helping patients rather than bankrupting then. 10/10 would recommend

What a wonderful experience and a very nice staff. I am very cautious when I it comes to the dentist and Wow did they ever take such good care of me to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. So much so that I will moving my family to this office. I must say just absolutely awesome. Thank you so much for helping and thank you for the wonderful experience. Awesome!
