In addition, our staff assists children to develop and maintain positive attitudes towards themselves as well as dental care. We listen carefully to all concerns and provide treatment programs specially made to care for each childs needs. Our staff attends continuing education in pediatric dentistry to ensure the most up to date care for our patients.
Nestled in the oceanfront town of Marblehead, Massachusetts, the environment at Marblehead Smiles is one in which we have designed specifically for our patients. Our practice is exciting and inviting, sure to make our patients feel comfortable and entertained. Our waiting room has a clubhouse with games including a play kitchen and a pretend tractor. We have a Wii video game system, ride on horses that make realistic sounds, and many books about the Tooth Fairy and visiting the dentist. In addition, our staff thoroughly enjoys working with children and are sure to make our patients feel relaxed and at ease.
Located in the scenic town of Middleton, Massachusetts the environment at Middleton Smiles is very welcoming and comforting. This location is also geared and designed specifically for our patients, to make their time with us fun and enjoyable! In our waiting room we have a ride on motocross game, two oversized magnetic game boards, a dress up station, and many books about going to the dentist and visits from the Tooth Fairy. We are committed to providing the best quality dental care in an environment that is friendly and fun, where children feel safe and relaxed. All of our patients, from pre-schoolers to teenagers, are met with enthusiasm, nurturing and understanding.
Dr. Corine R. Barone is a former dental hygienist, who taught Dental Materials at Forsyth Dental Hygiene School in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Barone received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts Dental School in 1986. She completed a general practice residency at New England Medical Center in 1987, with an emphasis on hospital dentistry and patients of special needs. In 1991, Dr. Barone received her certificate of specialty in pediatric dentistry at Childrens Hospital and The Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she currently remains on staff.
Away from the office, Dr. Barone is a second degree Black Belt in Martial Arts and is an assistant instructor at the United Martial Arts School, she also practices yoga regularly. She is also an experienced equestrian, and a proud owner of her seventeen hand Black Friesian, a miniature horse, a family of alpacas, and a lion head bunny. Dr. Barone is also an active member of the Marblehead Rotary Club, a former co-chair on several Yankee Dental committees and has participated in several volunteer missions treating children in both Honduras and Moldova. She enjoys traveling and she and her husband have done so extensively on both cross country equestrian and biking adventures on various continents. And lastly Dr. Barone enjoys spending time in and out of the office with her handsome and talented nephew Jeremy Kovac.
Dr. Cognata has over 25 years of experience in private practice providing orthodontic care for children and adults with the full spectrum of malocclusions and dentofacial problems. He also spent 25 years teaching part time at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine Department of Orthodontics where he was Director of Predoctoral Orthodontics and Clinical Instructor of Postdoctoral Orthodontics.
He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, a Fellow in the American College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and Secretary of the Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics.
Dr. Cognata is a former trustee for the Massachusetts Dental Society and he was the General Chair for the Yankee Dental Congress 31 and is a longtime member and recent past president of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists Eastern Component.
Dr. Bonanni began her pre-doctoral education at the University of Michigan and earned her doctoral degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Prior to attending dental school, she practiced as a registered and certified dental assistant and a registered dental hygienist. Dr. Bonanni's passion for dentistry and dental research are evidenced by her enthusiasm for her profession and the precision and compassion with which she delivers care. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society and the East Middlesex District Dental Society.
Ericka has been in the dental field for over 20 years. She started her career as a sterile technician, then she moved on to be a dental and orthodontic assistant, and then shortly after managed both pediatric dental and orthodontic offices. Ericka loves working with children of all ages and working in the dental field.
Ericka is from Swampscott, Massachusetts. She loves spending time with her daughter Sophia, their yellow labrador named Mollie, and their kitty cat named Ruby. 'I have worked for both Dr. Barone & Dr. Cognata for over 15 years, they are wonderful people to work for. They genuinely care so much for their patients and their staff. They are more like my family to me than an employer!'
Mary Ann has been in the dental field for over twenty five years. She started her career, as a part-time assistant during her high school years and later became full time. Mary Ann left the dental field to pursue a small business venture with her father. When her father passed away she decided she wanted to get back into the dental field and specialize in pediatrics, where she has been for the past thirteen years working along side Dr. Barone as her assistant.
Mary Ann has been married for thirty-eight years, has two daughters and two grandsons, and loves spending time with them. Mary Ann spends her free time enjoying her garden and grandchildren. Away from the office, Mary Ann enjoys cooking, gardening, swimming, practicing Tai Chi, and ice-skating.
I love working with children of all ages and I look forward to making every visit fun and comfortable. Its been a wonderful thirteen years with Dr. Barone; what fun we have everyday. I learn from the very best!
Rhonda started her career by attending Dental Assisting School in which she graduated from in 1991. She worked as an assistant for seven years and decided to broaden her horizons. It was from there that she obtained an Associate of Science Degree at Cape Cod Community College in Dental Hygiene in 2001. Rhonda has worked in periodontal, general, and pediatric offices; however, her main love is pediatrics.
I really do believe in living a healthy lifestyle and it gives me a great feeling knowing that I help pave the way for kids starting with their oral health. The excitement on their faces is contagious when they come in and it makes my job worth it!
Connie has been in the dental field for sixteen years. She started off working in Dr. Barones front office and later became Dr. Cognatas Financial Coordinator. She enjoys working in both parts of the office. Her main focus is the orthodontic billing but is well versed in other areas of the office.
Connie resides in Middleton with her three young boys and her Cocker Spaniel, Tinkerbell. She loves participating in numerous activities with them, as they do keep her very busy. She also enjoys researching Theology and applies this to her daily life at home as well as when she is in the office.
My daily affirmation is Faith, Hope, and Love. I bring that with me everyday. I have been with the Doctors for a long time and I enjoy what I do. I love the patients, the parents, and my coworkers. A productive workplace is a happy workplace!
Jenny took the first steps toward her career as a Hygienist by attending Mount Ida College and graduated in 2007. She has been working in pediatrics as well as general dentistry as long as she has been practicing hygiene. Currently she is enrolled in a certificate program in Dental Public Health and hopes to graduate in the spring of 2011. Jenny prefers working with children but likes the variety and experience that she gains while working with both adults and children.
As a Hygienist I look forward to watching my patients grow and develop over the years. The best part of my job is that no matter what kind of day it is my patients arealways making me smile, after all thats what dentistry is all about!
Regis has been working in dentistry for over 40 years.During this time, she has gained a wealth of knowledge by both being a dental assistant and office manager in prosthodontics, general dentistry and oral/maxillofacial surgery. She cares greatly for the patients and wants to make everyone feel cared for and pleased with their dental visit. In her spare time, Regis enjoys doing anything creative and spending time with her family.
My name is Jeremy Kovac. I am Dr. Barone's nephew. I live in New York, and during my vacation time I work in my Aunt and Uncle's dental office. I am fourteen years old and have been working with the Tooth Fairy team for nine years.
My responsibilities include, filing charts, sterilizing instruments, and even at times assisting Dr. Barone with procedures. I also aid with greeeting, seating and preparing the operatory for the next patient.
I enjoy working with children and especially spending time with my Aunt. In my free time, I enjoy acting and going to Broadway plays. My other interests are cooking, painting, playing sports, and yes sorry, I am a Yankee fan. I am looking forward to my next vacation and spending time at 210 Humphrey Street with the Tooth Fairy's dental team.
