Thomas J. Bonsack DDS is a 1986 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency at West Jersey Health Systems. Dr. Bonsack practiced for 25 years, starting from the ground up in Abingdon, Md. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, and the Harford-Cecil Dental Society. His experience includes starting, managing, buying and selling dental practices. While in practice, he was able to run an efficient office, keeping overhead between 35 and 40% which enabled him to retire at the age of 51. He misses his patients and staff but not the daily grind of running a successful dental office.Today, as the founder of MidAtlantic Dental Transitions, he enjoys helping buyers and sellers with their practice transitions. His friendly nature combined with his business training and background allows him to expedite the multifaceted process. Because he represents either buyers or sellers, he has a clear understanding of the pertinent issues involved with a practice sale. His expertise includes representing dentists that are selling to a DSO.Whether its working with a stressed seller or a nervous young buyer, Dr. Bonsack enjoys helping his clients reach their goals. While he doesnt mind being called a Maryland dental broker by his local peers, he is determined to change the negative connotation associated with Dental Broker by providing prompt, professional, thorough personal service to fellow dentists while keeping his fees reasonable.

Happy to add my voice to the chorus. Tom was a great person to work with when the time came to sell my practice. I for one appreciated his low key but effective style. A really nice man. I can't say there wasn't some luck involved, but I couldn't be happier with how everything worked out. It was important to me that my staff and patients felt comfortable with my buyer, and darn if it didn't happen just like I wanted. Along the way, Tom was very available and attentive, and most helpful in negotiating an acceptable final price, and ensuring the deal got done. I really enjoyed being a Dentist and am happy to have been able to end it on a positive note. Many thanks to Tom.

Tom and Curt from MidAtlantic were absolutely fantastic. They were attentive, helpful supportive and had all the necessary answers to help with a speedy transition. All their experience and their knowledge provided for guidance through the process that was spot on. If anyone wishes to make a transition these are without question the go to guys.

Smooth transaction. Tom was a great help in selling my practice and facilitating my retirement. His vast knowledge in practice sales and his calm demeanor helped greatly to eliminate the inherent stress involved in the process. Without his suggestions, I believe that I would still be looking for that perfect buyer. I highly recommend MidAtlantic Dental Transitions.

Without Tom's wide exposure through his extensive listings and many successful sales, as well as his reputation as an honest broker (the reality, not the expression), my aging specialty practice would likely not have sold. From our initial consultation through closing, he could not have been more of a gentleman. I am extremely pleased with the outcome and would recommend him to anyone wanting to sell a dental practice.

He was my advocate during trying circumstances and in less than one month found an office to merge with our practice.
