While wisdom teeth can be a valuable asset to your mouth when they are healthy and properly positioned, problems may develop that require their removal. Our team of dentists will work with you to determine the best course of action for your specific situation. Wisdom teeth are the last molars ~ also called third molars ~ to develop on each side of your jaw. These teeth usually emerge in the back of your mouth between the ages of 16-20. When the jaw isn't large enough to accommodate your wisdom teeth, they can become impacted (unable to erupt) or misaligned. Wisdom teeth may grow sideways, emerge only part way through the gum tissue, or remain trapped beneath the gums and bone. A wisdom tooth extraction is a relatively routine procedure, however every surgery is tailored to your specific needs. The surgeon will discuss the different types of anesthesia we utilize to help you establish a treatment plan that meets your needs and expectations.

A dental implant is a biocompatible, man-made substitute that replaces the missing roots of your tooth. A natural tooth consists of a root and a crown. If you compare natural teeth to implant-supported replacement teeth, you will see they have the same basic parts - both have a crown (the visible part used to chew food) and both have a root that holds the tooth securely under the gum and is anchored into the jaw. The difference is that the implant is made of titanium. When you lose a tooth, you lose both the root and the crown. To replace the tooth, the surgeon first replaces the root with a small dental implant. Once the implant heals, a new crown is fitted to the implant, thus restoring your dentition. If all of your teeth are missing, a variety of treatment options are available to support the replacement teeth. Contact our office today to determine if you are a good dental implant candidate.

Good oral hygiene should always be practiced, as the loss of a single tooth can have a major impact upon your oral health and appearance. Your dentist will use every measure prevent tooth loss, however even the best efforts can result in the need for an extraction. When this occurs, your dentist will refer you to our office, and we will establish a treatment plan best suited for you. We offer several options for anesthesia including local anesthetic, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), and IV sedation, and our team will help you determine which option is most comfortable for you.

Despite it scary name, bone grafting surgery can solve numerous dental issues and help your mouth to feel, function, and look better. After a tooth extraction, if the walls of the walls of the socket are very thick, they will usually fill naturally with bone in 2-3 months. However, when the walls of your socket are very thin, this type of healing will not be as predictable. In these situations, a bone graft is often placed at the time of tooth extraction to help you body fill in the empty socket with bone. If your tooth was removed several years ago and your bony ridge is extremely thin, a bone graft can be placed next to the thin bone, which will eventually fuse to your pre-existing bone. Bone grafting is usually a relatively comfortable office procedure, and many bone grafting materials are available, including your own bone! Patients who have been unable to use dental implants due to bone recession or notice loosening dentures due to bone loss can now eliminate these obstacles with proper bone grafting treatment.

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a small hinge and gliding joint located in front of the ear that allows the lower jaw to move and function. Is is the most often used joint in your body and, like all joints it is subject to disease and injury. Diagnosing TMJ disorders can be complex and may require different diagnostic procedures, but it is important that your oral surgeon determines the cause of a TMJ problem because the cause guides the treatment. Some key reasons for TMJ symptoms include injury or trauma to the lower jaw or face, emotional stress accompanied by clenching and grinding of the teeth, misaligned teeth or jaws, arthritis, or dislocation of the cartilage disk. Our experts can diagnose and guide treatment, which may include bite splint therapy, physical therapy, stress management, or surgery.

In some cases, teeth do not erupt properly through the jawbone and gum tissue into the mouth. Impacted teeth may cause problems including bone loss, root resorption, or formation of cysts or tumors. Your orthodontist and oral surgeon can work together with a combination of braces and minor surgical procedures, including tooth exposure and bonding of an orthodontic bracket, to bring the tooth properly in alignment with the other teeth. By exposing these teeth, they can emerge properly and function properly to support chewing, talking and moving your jaw without pain and discomfort.

Kind staff & amazing oral surgeon. Just didn't like we had to have a consult first (even though they had the notes & xrays from our orthodonist... & it cost us $100) & they book out way far.

Had my wisdom teeth removed today and the experience was smooth and easy. I went in with a lot of anxiety about the procedure and concerns about my asthma but Dr. Beckman and the staff were understanding and walked me through each step of the procedure. I opted for just IV sedation rather than laughing gas, and it was incredibly helpful to be concious of what was happening as the doctor continued to let me know what he was doing throughout the procedure. Incredibly thankful for how this office made a very anxious experience as calm, quick, and pain free as possible.

I just had my wisdom teeth pulled today. I was pretty surprised by how little communication happened at my appointment; as soon as I sat in the chair, they were small talking each other while they were hooking me up to their machines. I had a very brief conversation with a surgeon about information on my registration form, and I was VERY surprised that no one made a comment about this being my first surgery where I'm administered anesthesia (I wasn't able to get a consultation, as my teeth were already impacted and my dentist urged me to get them removed as soon as I could). My friends all described to me a distinct point where their anesthesiologist let them know when they were administering the gas ("count down from ten" or "are you ready?") - I was in the middle of a small-talk conversation with him about my studies when I got knocked out. I wound up having a very negative reaction to the anesthesia. Had a pretty bad anxiety attack, and I don't get those often. Couldn't breathe, uncontrollable crying, shaking knees. These side affects didn't subside until hours after I got home. This was my first ever surgical operation, and I'll say, I'm pretty surprised and disappointed by the experience. The experience was pretty traumatizing for me and my family that went, and I don't think I'll be following up with them. You would think that a team of healthcare professionals who are performing an operation on you would at least make an effort to inform you of the process, give information as they're prepping and avoid surprising their patient. I could probably find better healthcare at ACE Hardware - I don't recommend this clinic to anyone.

The worst office staff I have ever encountered. They charged us for x-rays they insisted we had to have for insurance and then forgot to send them in. I had to call them multiple times because they would not/could not seem to work with my insurance company and I had to be the middleman. The office staff are short and condescending with their patients and do not give all of the information you need. Simple questions are treated with impatience, disdain and derision. I think they forget that most of their clients do not work in the industry. I dealt with this not only on the phone with them but saw it first hand with other clients while waiting in their office. The oral surgeon we met with was nice but we will not be back.

Poor customer service. I understand we have a pandemic to manage, but that shouldn't be an excuse for poor customer service. I received a voicemail on Friday about my daughter's wisdom teeth surgery today, but because the office is closed on Fridays, I had no way to speak to anyone in the office and ask questions. When we got there, it took some time for them to rework payment since it had been over a year since our last visit when that could have been done before we got there. Then I'm made to sit in my car and burn my gas, after they had already taken me into the waiting room, gotten my temperature and payment of course. I'm told to park in the handicap spot for them to bring out my daughter to the parking lot post surgery. I was never given any oral instructions on how to care for her after the surgery. Just a piece of paper. They need new management or a better way to explain things to people.

I had four teeth extracted today as a result of my braces treatment. Everyone in the office was very friendly and professional. Mark Beckman performed my actual extractions, and he was wonderful! He thoroughly explained what was happening every step of the way, continued to make sure I was comfortable - and really just made it as positive of an experience as it could be. 11/10 would recommend.

If I could give a Zero for communication I would. My daughter had an appointment last Friday, granted we were 10 minutes last but i called to inform the office about us arriving a few minutes late. When we arrived we wee turned away, the receptionist said we had to reschedule because we were 10 minutes late. She never checked the voicemail because if she did she would have called to inform us that we would have to reschedule. I was furious!!!! I work in an office that have a 15 minute grace period, an i was very offended bein that I work in a dentist office as well. Needless to say we were never informed prior to scheduling that if we were 10 minutes late we would be reschedule. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND VERY RUDE STAFF!!!!!!! NEVER GO HERE THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU THEY WILL TURN YOU AWAY AFTER 10 MINUTES!!!

My son had all four wisdom teeth taken out just over a week ago. My experience with this office is great. I had reschedule 3 times due to a different health issue my son was dealing with, they were courteous and understanding each time. Dr. Pack made my son feel at ease. They listened to my concerns and answered my follow up questions. My son experienced some minor discomfort, nothing the ibuprofen and Tylenol couldn't handle. He had no bruising or swelling, but we did follow the aftercare instructions very closely. I will be bringing my daughter here when she needs her wisdom teeth out as well.

I have been to other oral surgery offices and this one is by far the BEST!!. I had the best experience from making my appointment to walking out after my procedure. The staff and Dr Benivegna were amazing and really made me feel comfortable. I highly recommend this place.

I had 3 teeth extracted from here at the beginning of August 2020 (2 impacted wisdom teeth and a molar destroyed by one of the impactions). I am low income with no dental insurance, so I had to pay a steep price out of pocket. After paying upfront before the procedure even took place I found out I was overcharged. While they did send me a refund for a few hundred dollars, it has now been a month & a half and I am having complications. I did everything right to take care of my sockets and blood clots, but now I have sharp pieces of bone or tooth sticking out of my otherwise healed gum. I do not have the funds to go back and get the shards removed, so now I am stuck trying to pull these shards out with a tweezer. It is horrific because it is large enough that it actually looks like a new tooth is growing in. I was never warned that something like this could happen, never told if they left in broken pieces of bone or tooth. It just goes to show that Dr. Beckman did a rush job during my procedure. I feel like my trust was broken when I had no where else to turn.
