Dr. Lauren Kai, originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, received her B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She earned her DMD degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and she completed a post-graduate endodontic residency at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Prior to pursuing a career in dentistry, she worked in medical device design and manufacturing for Medtronic, Inc. in Switzerland. Following that, Dr. Kai joined Astra Tech, Inc. in Waltham, MA where she designed abutments for dental implants. She was especially drawn to endodontics because of the ability to help patients relieve tooth pain, and the challenging diagnostics and careful precision required for root canal treatment.
Dr. Kai is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Massachusetts Association of Endodontists, the Massachussetts Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. When not in the office, Dr. Kai keeps an active and adventurous lifestyle. Whether she is on the tennis court or cycling, travelling throughout Europe or Asia, or even simply trying new recipes at home, Dr. Kai likes to challenge herself. She currently resides in Cambridge, MA with her husband Alex.
