Dr. Bassam Kinaia is the Director of the Graduate Periodontics Specialty Program at the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School. He is a Board Certified Periodontist from the American Board of Periodontology and the State of Michigan. He has obtained the prestigious designation of Diplomate from the American Academy of Periodontology and the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Detroit Mercy - Dental Schoolin Detroit, Michigan. He completed his Master of Science (MS) and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Periodonticsand Dental Implants at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and St. John Hospital Health System in Michigan.
Dr. Kinaia is devoted to teaching and research where he obtained a certificate of Excellence from the American Academy of Periodontology in recognition of his teaching and research fellowship. As a Director and Associate Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy, he teaches residents and periodontists the most recent surgical techniques in the fields of Dental Implants and Periodontology.
He is a clinician with years of private practice experience with specific interest in dental implant and periodontal plastic surgery to enhance esthetic outcomes in Cosmetic Restorative dentistry. He has been chosen as Michigan's Top Periodontist by HOUR magazine for the past consecative 7 years.
Dr. Kinaia is the recipient of the prestigious AAP 2018 Award for Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring in Periodontics.He lectures nationally in the United States and internationally, and has numerous publications and research in the field of Periodontology and Dental Implants. Susan has been part of the dental community for over 20 years. Susan started out her career as a chairside dental assistant and over the years has had the wonderful opportunity to hold many different positions within the office. Susan has a passion for all things dental. She enjoys all aspects of the dental office and having the opportunity to establish and maintain lastingrelationships with our patients. Outside of her dental family, Susan has been married to her amazing husband for 20 years and they have 2 beautiful daughters, Avery and Addison. Together, they enjoy spending time with their dog Teddy, goingto the movies and traveling.
Suzy has been part of the dental field for 6 years. Suzy is always ready and willing to help our patients as a front desk team member. She is working towards a degree in dental hygiene. When she isnt't at work she enjoys spending time with her family and going on bike rides and traveling. She also enjoys spending quality time with her brothers and watching sports.
Mary takes full pride in caring forour patients as a dental assistant to make them feel at ease. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. She also enjoys spending quality time with her mom and dad.
Rachel has been in the dental field for over 6 years. Rachel loves making her patients feel comfortable when providing care for all treatment. Outside of the workplace, Rachel loves spending quality time with family and enjoys outdoor activities.
Mirranda has been a part of the dental field for 2 years and is currently working towards obtaining a Health Science degree. She loves to provide great patient care in all areas of the office. In her free time, Mirranda enjoys traveling, playing guitar, and spending time with family, friends, and the family dog Biscuit.

Great experience all around. On the first visit everything was explained thoroughly for the procedure. Every time I have gone in, the employees have been friendly and willing to answer any and all questions. Dr. Kinaia even called me after my gum surgery to make sure I was feeling okay. That's care!

Very friendly staff and Dr. Kinaia is just the absolute best! My mom was really scared and nervous to get treated at first but Dr. Kinaia made her feel safe and comfortable. He would continuously check on her during the procedures to make sure she was okay and if she had any questions or concerns. Thank you all so much for treating my mom with the best quality of care!

So far I've been there twice and I give the doctor five stars! During my first appointment I had to have a very deep cleaning which was a bit painful but I'm sure that's normal for what they had to do, the doctor is very nice, he explains everything really well and I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

Dr Kinaia is amazing, with a high level of integrity. Post my exam, he recommended NO surgery (crown lengthening). Yippee! Professional staff from reception, exam, and scheduling, ensures a welcoming, pleasant and comfortable experience.

New state of the art equipment! Probably the smartest periodontist in the area. I had a 2nd tooth that I thought would need pulling and replace with another implant, he was so honest and saved that 2nd tooth. Implant base went very well. Just had my 2 week check-up post surgery and everything is perfect. Staff is friendly and professional. Glad I read the "real" reviews and chose this place.

This place is wonderful.I went to another periodontist before coming here, where they rushed the appointment. The doctor here went into full detail with everything, and she answered all my questions. From the first phone call to the beyond helpful front desk to my post appointment, this office is amazing! Dr. Kinaia is so gentle & caring. He kept checking on me every couple minutes while flawlessly executing his work. All of the staff are complete gems as well. Mary held my hand during the numbing process & was so kind. Overall, an amazing experience. That's coming from someone who absolutely dreads any dental work at all.
