Dr. Paul C. Lopez, Dr. Anthony Fasi, and Dr. Christopher Sanker improve oral health outcomes and enhance the patient experience by providing compassionate and dedicated care. Renowned for their oral surgery expertise and friendly chairside manner, our doctors treat a variety of conditions for patients of all ages.

We are proud to have assembled a skilled and friendly team that places their focus directly on the patient. With a team-based approach to care, we are committed to improving your oral health and making sure you have a memorable experience.

Dr. Paul C. Lopezs top priority is to provide outstanding surgical treatment for every patient. As a board-certified oral surgeon and father of four, he understands the apprehension that can accompany oral surgery and strives to provide the same top-rated service and treatment he would provide to his own children.

Dr. Lopez was inspired to pursue the dentistry field while working at a neuro-rehabilitation facility. He fell in love with the complexity of restoring both function and aesthetics to the mouth and face. He decided to pursue oral and maxillofacial surgery because he enjoyed the challenge presented by this broad subspecialty and the transformational results that can be achieved.

Dr. Lopez comes to Michigan Oral Surgeons with a wealth of knowledge and experience gained throughout his training. While studying at Michigan, he was presented with several awards, including the Ida Gray Award, which is given to a member of the dental school community who has contributed to creating a multicultural climate of care, acceptance, and welcome. He also earned the Chalmers J. Lyons Academy Award in Excellence in Oral Surgery.

Dr. Lopez attended the University of Connecticut for his undergraduate degree and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neurobiology. After college, Dr. Lopez chose to continue his education by attending the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS). He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School.

Dr. Lopez has received specialty training in dentoalveolar reconstruction and corrective jaw surgery and received three consecutive U of M Medical School Bronze Beeper Awards, which are presented to resident physicians who exemplify the high standards of medical student education, leadership, and patient care. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial residency at the University of Michigan Hospital System.

Dr. Anthony Fasi felt his calling to become an oral surgeon when he saw the life-changing capabilities of the field. He loves helping people in a tangible way and finds patient satisfaction to be the most rewarding part of his job. To Dr. Fasi, it is a pleasure and an honor to serve the Southeast Michigan community.

Dr. Anthony Fasi has lived in Michigan since he was 6 years old. Growing up, Dr. Fasi had dreams of becoming a science teacher and pursued biology in college. It wasnt until he met someone who was pursuing dental school and learned more about it that he realized he was interested in dentistry. He volunteered at an oral surgeons office and discovered his love for the specialty.

Oral surgery appealed to Dr. Fasi because of the unique surgical aspect that allowed him to do immediate reconstructions and other treatments on patients. He was intrigued by the idea that he could earn a degree in a field that allowed him to have an immediate and positive effect on patients lives. He loves working in a practice where he can set his own goals and work every day toward achieving them with multiple patients.

Dr. Fasi completed his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University in 2004, where he majored in Human Biology. After discovering his interest in dentistry during college, Dr. Fasi chose to attend dental school at the University of Michigan. After earning his dental degree, Dr. Fasi decided to stay put and complete his oral and maxillofacial residency at the University of Michigan as well. When he was a fourth-year resident, he met Dr. Lopez, who was then the chief. He spent time volunteering and eventually caught Dr. Lopezs attention.

In his spare time, Dr. Fasi loves to travel. His family is originally from Malta, and he loves returning to Europe to see relatives and explore some of his favorite spots. He also enjoys photography, and he is always looking for new places to capture.

Dr. Christopher Sanker loves making a personal connection with his patients and believes in treating his patients like he would treat his own family. As a highly skilled oral surgeon, he is inspired to solve problems, improve health outcomes, and work toward every personalized treatment goal.

Dr. Christopher Sanker was born in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. After completing college, Dr. Sanker decided to take a year off to explore Ecuador and work in a dental clinic. His mom had advised him to look into dentistry, and he was inspired by both her encouragement and by the advice that was given to him by a friends father, who was a dentist. After realizing he had an interest in the dental field, he chose to go to dental school. It wasnt until he completed a 1-year general practice residency that he realized he was more interested in surgery. He enjoyed spending time with the people in the oral and maxillofacial surgery program and liked that he was able to get a wide scope of training and experience, which always kept things interesting.

Dr. Sanker loves working at Michigan Oral Surgeons because its a fun practice and allows him to help a wide range of people. For Dr. Sanker, oral surgery is like solving a puzzle, and its extremely satisfying when he can find the solution and help a patient in need. Surgery allows him to actively and continuously improve the lives of his patients.

Dr. Sanker attended Kalamazoo College for his undergraduate career, where he graduated in 2003 with a bachelors degree in biology. Following his year off in Ecuador at a dental clinic, Dr. Sanker chose the University of Michigan for dental school. It was here that he met and formed a lasting friendship with Dr. Lopez.

After earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from dental school, Dr. Sanker was fortunate enough to enter a program that allowed him to complete an oral and maxillofacial residency and medical school at the same time. When he completed both, he was honored to join our oral and maxillofacial team.

In his spare time, Dr. Sanker loves spending time with his family and friends. Raising his young daughter is a full time work of love, but when he has the chance, he loves to travel. He has been to Ecuador, South America, Korea, and all over Europe. He also loves to cook and finds simple joy in grocery shopping at Costco.

Asked for the price of tooth extraction because I was paying cash. Came in for said extraction. Just had Xray at my family dentist and would have brought those along had I known they would be taking another set and charging for another set. I understand those things happen but I was pretty thourogh on the phone in my questions and it is costly compared to other offices. I will say it's probably worth the cost considering Dr. Fasi is an excellent physician. I would highly recommend him and use him again if needed.

Dr. Fasi and his team are amazing! Our son had 3 wisdom teeth extracted. Dr. Fasi was very thorough and thoughtful when explaining the procedure to us. Even on the morning of, our son asked if he had to have them out and Dr. Fasi was very patient and explained the difference between during the procedure now vs. waiting. There was no pressure to proceed. Our son decided just to do it. It went so smoothly. The staff were so caring and thoughtful. They did follow-up with us several times to make sure he was healing properly. Would highly recommend this oral surgeon and his staff.

I had horrible teeth due to enduring chemotherapy twice and needed to remove all of my teeth and get dentures. I was extremely nervous about this whole process because the last place on earth I like going to is the dentist and I had no idea what to really expect. I also had to go through this process fully conscious (they didn't put me under) because my insurance wouldn't cover it and I couldn't afford to pay out of pocket for it. Dr. Sanker was my surgeon and he not only did a great job, but he was extremely patient and made sure to walk me through the whole process as he performed my oral surgery to remove all my teeth. He comforted me about the healing process and I had no troubles at all. I felt like I knew what to expect pre and post operation and healed nicely. I honestly wish I wouldn't have put off my surgery for so long because it went so much better than I expected. Now I can smile without feeling embarrassed again and don't have to deal with all the pitfalls of failing teeth. I can't thank him and his staff enough for everything.

The staff is friendly and puts you at ease while ensuring that you get the care that is requested. My extractions were painless and very expertly accomplished. I walked out the door with confidence, knowing that phase 1 was completed.

I had my roots extracted two weeks ago. The office staff were nice to me and my doctor was very nice during the procedure. My recovery was fine (no much pain or complications). I highly recommend this office.

The doctor was very good, fast and very professional. I was told to remove my wisdom teeth for sometime but I wanted to go to an Oral surgeon that will make this experience less painful And I was very happy with Michigan Oral surgeons experience. I would recommend they add ear plugs as an option for some sensitive ears to be used by patients.

I had my wisdom teeth removed and the whole process was very smooth. I had no problems with the operation, my surgeon was professional and informative, and I felt that the post-operative instructions were clear and helpful. There was also a follow call a few days after the surgery to make sure that I was doing okay and that I understood the post-operative instructions. Overall, it was about as well as a wisdom teeth removal could go.

Seen Dr. Fasi back in 2020 to get premolars extracted and it was the best experience ever. Decided to go back to get wisdom teeth pulled yesterday, and yet again I have experienced no pain whatsoever! Very nice staff. Truly the best place to go to!!

I'm 35 and had to have tooth #17 (lower left wisdom tooth) removed. I went to Dr. Lopez. Personality wise I'd give him 4 stars. He was friendly, silly, and patient with me and my questions prior to the work being performed. I called him after the initial consultation and advised him that I had severe anxiety about having that tooth removed without general anesthesia. I asked him to prescribe a oral sedative (standard practice) prior to my appointment. And he said he didn't want to do that since I was getting the "laughing gas" too. So I sat wide awake literally shaking while he extracted the tooth. And when I told him that I could still feel the pain as he pulled out the tooth, he gave another shot and continued to work without pausing to let it kick in. After the surgery, I learned he had to cut around tooth 18 to get to tooth 17. I wish I had been better informed. I literally asked him if the tooth next to the extraction site would be affected and he said "no". But it is. It hurts. The gum tissue around it will have to hopefully tighten. My one follow-up visit to make sure I was healing right made me feel like I was worry wart or something. I've never had an extraction, let alone a surgical one. I shouldn't be expected to not have questions. The staff was nice enough though. It could have gone better.

Dr Christopher Sanker was fantastic! Without a doubt the fastest & most pleasant oral surgery I have ever experienced. The staff is marvelous as well. Very pleasant, helpful & accomodating. I don't know who H.Marie is but I don't believe she was here. Google not the business begs for reviews to start with & EVERYTHING regarding charges was discussed prior to surgery.

I was hounded for Google reviews no less than 5 times either orally or in writing with my paperwork sent home. It was very bizarre. I leave reviews because I want to...and I have never been solicited to do so in a clinical setting. To me, it's very unprofessional and I think they would have great reviews without asking their patients to do so. Where do you draw the line? Patients may be having complex procedures performed with intense pain, and as you are checking out they are rambling about Google reviews?
