Dr. Barker was born and raised in Boaz, Alabamaand graduated from Boaz High Schoolin 1968. His dad was a medical doctorin Boaz, but Michaelset his sights onbecoming a dentist to best serve the needs of the growing community. Heattended UAB Birmingham Dental School where hegraduated in 1976.
He started his dental practice in his dad's office in Boaz. Having adequate space for all of the needed dental equipment forced the need for another location. Dr. Barkerbuilt a new building andmoved his practice tothe current location at 222 South Main Streetin 1978.
