Hendersonville Family Dental was founded over twenty years ago by our wonderful friend to this day, Dr. Robert Little. It started as a small 3 operatory practice. Many of the staff that are here today were here from the very beginning. Little by little, and over the years, our office has expanded, grown, and added on, until eventually in 2017, we built a brand-new building containing 11 operatories. As our growth has continued to skyrocket over the years, we have started a new expansion in 2021 to add 5 more operatories to better serve our wonderful patient base and team!
Every person has a story and I like to get to know these stories. These stories have helped me become the person and the dentist that I am today. My patients and staff help me not only see the good in things, but also the challenges that we sometimes face. I find great joy in helping turn a bad story, or challenge, into a positive success story. Dentistry is a way that I can help others turn their bad story into a good story.
I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and come from a family of dentists. My father and three older brothers are dentists and I have a sister that is a dental hygienist. I guess it is safe to say that dentistry runs in the family. I attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry for my dental training, earning a Doctorate of Dental Medicine. My education has helped me have a strong foundation and knowledge in the core concepts of dentistry. I regularly attend continuing education helping me keep up with the new concepts and products. I feel like my patients deserve the best and continuing education helps me provide the best treatment for my patients.
I currently reside in Arden with my family. My wife, Megan, and I have four children, Lizzie, Sam, Judd, and Anne, along with a yellow lab named Ollie. I love spending time with my family and watching my children grow up, change and accomplish new things.
When I have some free time, I like to travel with my family and explore new things. I love to snow ski, golf and attend sporting events. I am active in my church and really enjoy working with the youth in my church.
Dr. Daniel Ashton is a native of Upstate South Carolina. After graduation from high school, he headed west to Utah where he obtained his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University. From Utah, he moved to Ohio to attend dental school at The Ohio State University. While Utah and Ohio had much to offer, Daniel is ecstatic to be back home in the South.
Dr. Ashton wants his patients to understand their oral health and feel great about their smile. He has been trained on the latest technology in dental imaging and diagnosis to aid patients in that endeavor.
Hello! My name is Dr. Ian Alvey. I grew up on Lake Wylie, South Carolina, just a short trip over the border. As many of you will come to know, I went to Clemson University for my undergraduate degree and I am a huge Tigers fan. At Clemson, I was a member of the waterski and wakeboard teams and also completed research in the biochemistry department. From there, I attended the Medical University of South Carolina for dental school. I developed a passion for digital, surgical and restorative dentistry. After 4 years, I decided to expand my dental education and attend a general practice residency at MAHEC in Asheville, NC. There I got to expand some on some of the techniques I learned in school and learn some more advanced procedures.
I love what I do for a living and am very fortunate to be where I am today. Spending time with patients, helping them understand their needs, address concerns and treat disease has been a truly rewarding experience. Outside of the office, I love spending time on the water, outside in the mountains, and I teach part time to the new residents at MAHEC.
