Dr. Michael Markgraf was born and raised in Wisconsin, graduating from Oostburg High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and graduated in 1984 from Marquette University's School of Dentistry. Dr. Mike had a fee - for - service practice for 15 years in a suburb of Milwaukee called Grafton before moving to Florida.
While in Wisconsin, he taught for three years as an associate professor in the Department of Clinical Science at Marquette University's School of Dentistry. Dr. Mike continues his education to incorporate the latest technology available in dentistry.
He moved to Punta Gorda in 1999 for the climate, the year-around boating, and the small town atmosphere. He felt Punta Gorda shows a respect for the past, and built a historic-looking building he felt would reflect those values.
Dr. Mike enjoys boating, fishing, biking, swimming, traveling with his family, and playing Frisbee with his Labrador. Above all, he truly enjoys practicing dentistry and treating the problems for which our patients seek us out.
'I try to be thoughtful and fair in my dealings with our patients. I am familiar with living within a budget, and understand the difference between want and need. When proposing treatment plans for a patient, I start by explaining the present conditions. Some things may need immediate attention to preserve dental health or further expense. Looking to establish with a new dentist and couldn't be happier with Dr Mike. He listens carefully to your concerns then acts with comprehension and expertise. His staff is equally knowledgeable and pleasant. I appreciate all they do.

My husband chipped a tooth and needed a dentist to repair the problem. He found Dr: Markgraft on the internet and made an appointment. The staff was highly professional and he was given an appointment the next day. Dr: Mike was very prompt in seeing him and corrected the problem. He was extremely pleased with the manner in which the doctor and his staff displayed terrific service and exemplary professionalism. Thank you. We are glad to be future patients.

Doctor Mark's team is topnotch. To the person, they were as pleasant as they were competent and professional. Dr. Mark is quite thorough, speaks plainly and directly and has this cool number rating system in terms of your teeth/gum health that will surely motivate those who have a competitive side, lol! Highly recommend!

They made an emergency appointment for me in a timely manner. Staff was courteous and professional. Facility was modern and spotless. Dr. Mike gave detailed explanations and made sure that I understood everything. Great practice with great people.

Ive been coming to Dr. Markgraf's office for many years for all of my dental needs. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly and professional. When I do need real work done not just a cleaning, the Doctor has done a great job. Highly recommend.

All I can say, all of his staff are excellent and very caring. Office kept very clean. As for the Doc himself, would NEVER use him again. He stated I needed a crown. Morning of prep for crown I was his first patient. Started to grind tooth and within a few minutes stopped and stated I made a mistake, wrong tooth. Made some sort of remark like, asleep at the wheel or it being early. Did not pay that much of attention as I was focusing on the word MISTAKE. Then stated to me, your going to get a FREE crown and smiled. Asked if that meant he was not going to charge for the crown on the tooth needing it. Stated NO, for this crown he was going to have made for the GOOD tooth he ruined. I still had to pay for the tooth needing the crown. Told him that was not exceptable and explained my feelings. He came back stating he appreciated my feelings BUT I must appreciate his for getting paid for what he is doing. Really. He left the room and came back a short while later to cut me a deal. Next time I come in for cleaning and exam I won't be charged, so big of him. Don't think so. Went back about a week later to have the new crown put onto the ruined tooth. I arrived early and said hi to him in the parking lot, NO RESPONSE, just looked at me. Once in the chair not a word spoken except how does the new crown feel while fitting it. Has a god like attitude and can do no wrong. Does not talk to you but down to you. Find yourselves anther doctor, I am. But he will hear from me again, you guessed it.

I finally found a dentist that I trust. I have spent $$$ being told I had gum issues, gum scaling, buy our toothbrush only, buy our toothpaste, suggesting a gum tissue graft....... All of my prior dental issues miraculously disappeared when I was examined by Dr.Markgraf. I am thankful to have him as my dentist.

Had my first visit with Dr Markgraf today and was very impressed. The Office was spotless and the staff were all friendly and seemed to enjoy their work. Dr Markgraf was very professional and kept me informed about what he was doing the entire time I was there. I received the most thorough examination I have ever had and received the most informative discussion about the exam results. I highly recommend this office and Dr Markgraf to anyone looking for Dental Services in Punta Gorda.

I have been going to Dr. Markgraf for almost 20 years. He is honest, professional and the BEST OF THE BEST. When I moved to Punta Gorda I literally interviewed dentists and have only had 3 in my lifetime and I am 77. His work is impeccable and I highly recommend him. There isn't anything he cannot do.

Dr. Markgraf gave me a phenomenal exam. I've been to many dentists over the years and his examination of my mouth and teeth was thorough and comprehensive. I had an excellent dental cleaning done by One of his dental hygienists. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Markgaf and his entire staff for any dental procedure. Superb care.
